Noble Pampering: Demon CEO's Relentless Entanglement-Chapter 624 - 620: Can She Cure His Illness? (Part 1)
"Irene, don’t be so petty. If bringing Sophie here helps him recover faster, what’s the harm in that?"
"Is she a doctor? Can she cure his illness?" Irene sneered, "Don’t be ridiculous!"
"You’ll know whether it’s possible if you give it a try, won’t you?" With that said, Luke Land headed toward the door, genuinely intending to bring Sophie over.
"Luke Land, dare you?" Irene locked the door and leaned against it with all her weight, refusing to let him out.
"You little girl, how dare you call me by my name?" Luke Land raised an eyebrow, "Don’t you know how to respect your elders?"
"Respect your head! If you were a good elder, you wouldn’t be trying to bring Sophie over. You’re aiding and abetting!"
"Aiding and abetting?" Luke Land had an amused glimmer in his eyes, "What’s that supposed to mean?"
"You know I’m Brother Asher’s fiancée, and you’re aware that Brother Asher still has feelings for her. By bringing her here, aren’t you just rekindling their old romance? Where does that leave me?"
Irene talked quite formally, as if lecturing him. Damn, her demeanor was indeed quite like Asher Land. He was the second young master of the Land Family and older than them, yet both Asher and Irene paid him no mind!
Irene was adamant that Luke Land should not go looking for Sophie, and there was nothing he could do. Considering her genuine concern for Asher Land, he chose not to argue with her this time.
"Well, you take good care of the third brother here. If you have any issues, come find me downstairs, Doctor Williams and I will be there." Luke Land gave a few more reminders before heading downstairs.
Seeing Luke Land relent, Irene finally breathed a long sigh of relief. No way would she let Sophie come!
...
Meanwhile, at the Davis Family villa.
The kitchen was bustling with activity.
Eva Miller was the ’head chef’ today, feeling quite confident in her culinary skills.
Sophie Smith and Nolan Davis stood by, watching Eva’s apparent determination. Sophie couldn’t help but worry that Eva might end up dismantling the entire kitchen.
"Your friend seems quite nice," Nolan Davis commented with a smile.
"Nice? In what way?" Sophie was confused.
"I can excel in the drawing room and the kitchen, I’m good everywhere!" Eva chimed in, joining their conversation.
She was obviously praising herself for not only being attractive but also capable in cooking.
"Eva, it’d be better to stay humble in front of Mr. Davis." Sophie chuckled and shook her head helplessly.
Nolan Davis noticed Sophie’s smile and felt more at ease, perhaps the arrival of such a good friend as Eva had changed her.
As Sophie left the kitchen to check on the child upstairs, Nolan quietly approached Eva, who was brewing soup.
"Miss Miller, may I have a word with you?" Nolan Davis curved an elegant smile across his lips, his gaze carrying a gentle warmth as he addressed Eva.
"Of course, Mr. Davis, just say whatever you want." Eva put down the spatula, facing Nolan directly.
"I was hoping you could stay here a while longer, what do you think?"
"Stay here longer?" Eva hesitated, "Why?"
It wasn’t that she didn’t want to, but she also had work to do. She had begged Sunny for this vacation, and it was only a week long.
