No Trespassing! My Aloof Brother-Chapter 626 - 624: Is It Interesting? [1st update]
Recently, the quiet life almost made him forget that there was such an annoying woman in his life.
He thought that her three-minute enthusiasm had already worn off and that she had already given up on him.
It was only when he saw Sophia again that he remembered that during this time, James was injured, and she had been taking care of him in the hospital.
At the office door, Sophia looked at Christopher’s surprised expression and gave him a sweet smile. Then she waved her little hand and said, "Hi!"
Christopher’s head throbbed when he heard Sophia’s "Hi!"
He took a deep breath and coldly asked, "Do you need something from me?"
However, inwardly he was praying, praying that Sophia wouldn’t chase after him. As long as she wasn’t chasing him, whether she was after Hudson, Xavier, or Lucas, he could help.
Christopher really hated Sophia following him around; it felt like being haunted by a ghost.
Even though Seven was already engaged to Ian; even though he had given up on Seven; even though he couldn’t quite forget Seven for the time being, even if he forgot her later and wanted to start a new life, he would never be with Sophia.
He genuinely didn’t like Sophia, though it was Seven who first confessed to him, they were mutually in love.
So, no matter how other girls chased him, he wasn’t interested besides Seven.
Listening to Christopher’s question, Sophia beamed and immediately walked into the office, sitting across his desk and staring at him with a silly grin.
Next, she shamelessly asked, "Christopher, after not seeing me for over ten days, did you miss me?"
Christopher’s heart sank at her question, thinking, she still hadn’t given up on him!
Suddenly, he froze with the pen in his hand hanging mid-air.
He had told himself, and promised Maya, that he wouldn’t be rude to Sophia, and he also didn’t like yelling at women.
But Sophia’s relentless pursuit annoyed him greatly, making him want to throw her out of his sight.
Yet in the end, he suppressed his impatience, looked up, stared at Sophia, and coldly sneered, "Isn’t it pointless to be so self-indulgent?"
Sophia understood Christopher’s meaning but didn’t get angry. Instead, she foolishly propped her left hand on the table, supporting her chin, and said with a silly smile, "I’ve missed you!"
Christopher listened to her declaration of missing him, furrowing his eyebrows tightly, and stared straight at her, saying, "If you don’t have legitimate business, please leave immediately, or I’ll have security escort you out."
Sophia, seeing him driving her away, straightened up immediately and said seriously, "I do! I do! Of course, there’s legitimate business."
Christopher watched her flustered state and continued to stare at her, intending to see what business she had with him.
He then heard Sophia pout and unhappily complain, "Isn’t missing you legitimate business?"
Seeing her playing rogue with him, Christopher immediately grabbed the phone on the desk, intending to call security and have them throw her out.
Sophia saw him pick up the phone and knew what he intended to do without him dialing. She immediately reached out and tightly gripped the phone in his hand, hurriedly explaining, "I do have something important to discuss with you, why are you in such a hurry to drive me away?"
Christopher, remembering how she once saved his life and blocked alcohol for him, placed the phone down.
He hadn’t forgotten Sophia’s kindness, saving him in the snow and blocking alcohol, and he wanted to repay that debt of gratitude. But what Sophia wanted, he couldn’t give.
It’s not Christopher’s style to commit to Sophia for that.
Afraid of being driven away again, Sophia spoke timidly, "Tomorrow, my uncle is being discharged, and our family is having a gathering."
Sophia knew that getting Christopher to accompany her home, especially as her boyfriend, was as unlikely as climbing Mount Everest. But she was the kind of person who loved fanciful ideas, loved adventure, loved setting herself up for embarrassment.
So, knowing she would be rejected, she still came to find Christopher to invite him to accompany her home.
Christopher listened to her and indifferently asked, "What does your family gathering have to do with me?"
Sophia saw his serious expression and bit her lip, summoning the courage and carefully said, "I want you to accompany me back."
"Impossible!" Before Sophia could finish her sentence, Christopher refused without even thinking. It was obvious he wouldn’t agree to such a boring matter.
He never considered developing anything with Sophia from the start, so how could he accompany her to a family banquet? Agreeing to such a request would only happen if he’d gone mad.
Christopher’s reaction was within Sophia’s expectations, so she wasn’t very disappointed, just pouting and reluctantly saying, "You know how Liam and Maya flaunt their love, even flowers and plants would die of envy, let alone a living person like me, so you’d better accompany me back! Then I won’t feel so awkward or bored."
Listening to the girl’s explanation, Christopher couldn’t find other words besides ’brainwashed’ to describe her; her self-centered attitude was about to strike him dumb.
He thought, doesn’t she understand his feelings? Isn’t it pointless to keep pestering him?
Christopher took a deep breath to stabilize his emotions.
Moments later, he calmly said, "Sophia, intelligence is a wonderful thing; I hope you have some. Asking me to accompany you to a family banquet is just inviting humiliation, isn’t it? To prevent me from saying anything hurtful or getting angry with you, I suggest you leave early."
"If you still want to experience being disliked, ignored, and loathed, I don’t mind doing it once more."
Maintaining his dignity, Christopher suppressed his anger, treating Sophia with civility before getting tough.
At this moment, he was giving her face, but if she didn’t take it, she couldn’t blame him for not giving her face.
Listening to Christopher’s threat, Sophia’s lips were pouting high, feeling a bit aggrieved. But she was someone who wouldn’t give up until she got what she wanted.
So, she braced herself again and boldly said, "Oh! You remember the snow incident. Christopher, you are so ungrateful; I went out in the middle of the night, in a snowstorm, trembling all over just to find you, and you treat me like this. Besides, if I hadn’t found you in time, you might have frozen to death."
"I don’t care; you owe me a favor. You must help me this time, so we can be even, owing nothing to each other."
If Christopher hadn’t brought up the night of the snowstorm, Sophia wouldn’t have thought about it, but since he mentioned it, she found a perfect excuse.
