No Trespassing! My Aloof Brother-Chapter 618 - 616: Maya is so obedient [3 updates]
Alexander Thompson thought to himself that Liam Spencer was indeed ruthless, never indecisive in his actions.
"Third Young Master, I’m just here to join in the fun. I’m not withdrawing my shares."
"Third Young Master, I’m not withdrawing either. While the Chairman is away, we will definitely cooperate with Miss Maya’s work."
"I never said I was withdrawing my shares."
Seeing Liam Spencer arrive, the shareholders did a complete turnaround, immediately denying any intention to withdraw their shares.
Maya Spencer sneered at these fickle people, but didn’t argue with them further. As long as they didn’t withdraw their shares, she achieved her purpose and had no need to be petty about it.
Liam Spencer scanned the room and said indifferently, "Since no one is withdrawing, the meeting is adjourned."
Liam’s attitude was one of arrogance, as if he were the chairman of Bennett Clan Group. Though there was discontent among the crowd, no one dared oppose him or say he took the wrong place or spoke incorrectly. Naturally, they agreed with his words to avoid angering him.
Besides, Maya was on his side and might just hand the acting chairman position over to him, so they didn’t dare offend him further. Immediately after his words, they scurried away.
A moment later, the meeting room quieted down. Alexander Thompson cautiously said, "Miss Maya, I’ll visit the hospital to see the Chairman. You two take your time talking."
"Alright!" Maya responded, slowly coming back to her senses from her shock upon hearing Alexander’s voice.
Even now, she thought she had been hallucinating, that Liam Spencer actually appeared before her.
Since the day she pushed James Bennett down the stairs, it had been a whole seven days since she’d seen Liam. He hadn’t even called her once, and only she knew how she endured during this time, how many times she thought about him in those seven days.
Now, as they locked eyes, Maya pitifully bit her lower lip, all her fierceness from arguing with the shareholders vanished, turning instantly into a little rabbit needing protection.
She was no longer angry with Liam; she even appreciated his presence today, appreciative of him rescuing her, grateful he didn’t take her harsh words seriously.
Gazing at Maya’s pitiable expression, Liam sighed helplessly, shook his head, stood up, and enveloped her in his arms with his long reach.
Feeling the man’s gentleness, Maya instantly burst into tears and, grasping him tightly, cried as she questioned, "Third Brother, why? Why did you abandon me? Why haven’t you seen me all these days? Don’t you know I was worried sick? I was so scared you’d ignore me."
Listening to her complaints and concerns, a helpless smile appeared on Liam’s lips. This girl’s way with words had only increased.
Yet, her inherent pride remained undiminished; clearly, she missed him and was worried, but she never called him, always waiting for him to come back and lower his head, waiting for him to take the first step.
However, he didn’t mind, as long as whenever he turned around, she was still there waiting, she didn’t have to lose her dignity to seek him, he only wished she’d never drift further away.
Taking a deep breath, Liam leaned down, brushing her cheek as he explained, "I went to find a doctor for Chairman Bennett. There were two important patients there, so I came back late."
"You’re a jerk, a bastard! You didn’t contact me, you didn’t say anything before going on a trip," Maya turned aside, pouting angrily at Liam.
Seeing she was no longer angry about concealing James Bennett’s identity, Liam raised his right hand, gently pinching her chin as he tenderly inquired, "Will you still argue with Third Brother next time?"
Maya shook her head vigorously to show her sincerity.
"Will you still sulk with Third Brother?"
"No!" She kept shaking her head.
"Will you still say hurtful things to provoke Third Brother?"
"No!"
Seeing the girl’s obedient demeanor, Liam’s heart sang with joy; he truly adored this tender Maya.
In truth, whether she was coy or mischievous, cold or warm, Liam loved Maya very much.
He hugged her tighter and whispered softly into her ear, "Maya is so good, Third Brother likes you very much."
"Third Brother, I like you too. No matter what I say in anger, never take it seriously. I’m just venting, you have to comfort me, or I’ll feel terrible." Now, in front of Liam, Maya was completely a little woman. As long as Liam was by her side, even if the sky fell, she was unafraid.
Hearing Maya’s plea, a brilliant smile appeared on Liam’s face. He pinched her cheek and said, "Alright, no matter what you say, Third Brother won’t take it seriously and will always comfort you."
"Third Brother!" Maya felt secure hearing his promise, holding him tighter as if she possessed the whole world.
After sharing a tender moment, Liam raised his right hand, patted Maya’s backside, and said, "Let’s go to the hospital first; the doctor’s report is due."
"Okay!" Maya nodded enthusiastically, her heart full of warmth.
Though a few days ago she had criticized Liam for meddling, now she loved how he took charge, how he carried all her burdens, how he protected her.
Three years ago, Maya was a girl who relied on no one but herself.
Three years later, she was spoiled by Liam, dependent on him for everything. Even though they’ve only been together for about half a year, Maya couldn’t give up this habit; she couldn’t leave Liam.
However, she liked this habit, liked being by Liam’s side, under his influence.
...
Forty minutes later, when they arrived at the hospital, the new doctor had just finished examining James Bennett. 𝗳𝚛𝚎𝚎𝘄𝕖𝕓𝕟𝕠𝚟𝚎𝕝.𝗰𝕠𝐦
Seeing Liam arrive, he hurried to report, "Mr. Spencer, your friend’s injuries aren’t very severe. After I perform a minor surgery and administer two doses of our new drug, he will wake up."
"Thank you, Dr. Aaron." Liam politely expressed his gratitude. Bringing this doctor from abroad was an honor for him, so regarding James Bennett’s treatment, he would do his utmost, certainly not to disappoint Liam.
In the ward, hearing that the patient could wake up, everyone finally breathed a sigh of relief, no longer as worried.
So for the rest of the day, Maya stayed in the ward, not going anywhere, with Liam staying to accompany her.
On the sofa, Liam watched as Maya held James Bennett’s hand tightly, sighing deeply, thinking to himself how his Maya was indeed the kindest and most likable.
What surprised him was how quickly Maya decided to forgive James Bennett, even becoming close to him.
