Nine Revolutions Star Transformation-Chapter 97 - 98: How About We Compete to See Who Kills More?
Chu Linfeng chuckled sarcastically, glancing mockingly at the young man, and said, "You could fool a three-year-old with that talk, but not us."
"You’re just brain damaged, thinking we’re idiots." Yang Rui, standing behind Chu Linfeng, couldn’t help but curse.
The young man’s gaze turned cold, his face darkened instantly, then he smirked briefly. "I’m doing this for your own good, carrying these things around is really unsafe."
While speaking, the young man was only a few meters away from Chu Linfeng, and the long sword in his hand began emitting faint energy fluctuations, ready to make a move at any moment.
Chu Linfeng looked at him with disdain. The opponent had at most the strength of the Third Level of Earth Martial Realm; defeating him would be a piece of cake. "The items are in my hands; if you have the guts, come and take them. She has more Demon Crystals on her."
Yang Rui rolled her eyes at Chu Linfeng, then quickly understood his intention, thinking to herself that this guy was planning a kill.
A cold light flashed in the young man’s eyes, and he sneered, "Since you insist on being stubborn, let me do it myself. Don’t worry, I’ll be gentle." As he spoke, the long sword in his hand suddenly emitted a surging wave of Star Power and stabbed fiercely at Chu Linfeng, swift as lightning, striking to kill without mercy.
A fierce murderous intent crossed Chu Linfeng’s eyes. The Cyan Frost Sword was already in his hand, and suddenly the Sword Aura flashed, accompanied by a crisp sound, splitting the young man’s long sword into two pieces.
"Puff!" The young man spat out a mouthful of blood, his face turned pale instantly, his body collapsing to the ground, unable to get up for a long time.
With one sword, Chu Linfeng broke his weapon and injured his internal organs, using only the sixth layer of strength. His purpose was to test his current power, unexpectedly realizing its might, crippling the opponent with a single move.
"This... this... this can’t be... it’s not... real..." Faced with the sword broken in two, the young man was dumbfounded, the blow too much to bear, almost fainting, and what was even harder to believe was losing to a trainee appearing just sixteen or seventeen years old, in only one move.
"Nothing is impossible. Are you regretting now? Are all Sea Dragon Academy people as idiotic as you? Haha! Sorry, too late. Now it’s time for you to hand your possessions to me!" Without hesitation, Chu Linfeng thrust his sword into the young man’s chest.
Yang Rui hadn’t said a word from the start, watching Chu Linfeng kill the opponent so swiftly, feeling terrified. This was a student from Sea Dragon Academy’s regular class, at least at the Third Level of Earth Martial Realm. Looking at his face, he seemed like a veteran, yet surprisingly incapable.
The young man died unwillingly. Chu Linfeng found only a Storage Belt on him. Upon opening it, he discovered only one Demon Crystal, proving the guy had slain only a single Magical Beast, but some items were decent.
A lower-grade Star Stone and several unknown-tier elixirs were directly pocketed by Chu Linfeng.
"The Demon Crystal is yours; I’ll take the rest!" Chu Linfeng stated without seeking Yang Rui’s consent.
"Chu Linfeng, you truly are unpredictable. I guess I must thank you then!" Yang Rui casually accepted the Demon Crystal from Chu Linfeng and placed it into her Storage Belt.
"Let’s go; it seems people from Sea Dragon Academy are nearby too!" Chu Linfeng felt that since encountering this guy, they might meet more soon. He wasn’t afraid of isolated individuals, but if they were in groups, with the burden of Yang Rui, it would be troublesome.
Yang Rui nodded. "I’m not sure if being with you is right or wrong."
"Of course it’s right. Look at who I am; following me guarantees happiness!"
"Want poison?"
"What poison? Hey, you wouldn’t poison me, would you?" Chu Linfeng suddenly grew alert.
"You’re not worth it. My poisons are rare, as precious as Star Stones. Do you think you’re worth using them on?" Yang Rui teased.
"Tch, I really don’t know why you wear a mask. Is it because you’re too ugly to show your face?"
Chu Linfeng quickly changed the subject; this girl could actually use poison. He remembered Tang Li saying Yang Family is known for firearms, how does she know poisoning then? If she got angry and used poison on me, it would be more trouble than it’s worth. Who knows if her poison would kill.
His words left Yang Rui stunned, suspiciously looking at Chu Linfeng for a long time before asking, "You can see I wear a mask? That’s impossible, did Tang Li tell you?"
"No, I’m not quite familiar with her, why would she tell me? However, she did give me a hint. I guessed it, surprisingly it was true." Naturally, Chu Linfeng wouldn’t say Sword Spirit told him, and even if he did, she wouldn’t believe it.
Yang Rui’s face looked much better, "What else did Tang Li say?"
"Really want to know?"
"Forget it! I’ll ask her myself later!" Yang Rui showed no intention of compromising.
"Tell me about your Yang Sect’s firearms, and I’ll tell you. Isn’t that a fair deal?" Chu Linfeng was genuinely curious about firearms.
"Are you negotiating with me? Let me tell you, I never fall for threats. Want to know the secret of Yang Sect’s firearms? Dream on!" Yang Rui spoke with a hint of aggression.
Chu Linfeng said no more, talking to someone like her only causes anger, as he walked forwards alone.
Yang Rui followed behind, knowing Chu Linfeng might be angry by now, but she maintained her pride and avoided unnecessary explanations.
The entire journey was silent. Two hours later, Chu Linfeng and Yang Rui arrived at a forest severely damaged, blood scattered everywhere, and two corpses lay on the ground with several wounds.
The wounds clearly suggested they were killed by human actions. Not far away, two Storage Belts were casually thrown on the ground.
Chu Linfeng stepped forward and picked up the Storage Belts to inspect. "There’s no Demon Crystal or Red Luminous Stone inside, only random things, nothing valuable. It seems everything was taken."
Judging by their clothes, they seemed to be from our Celestial Dragon Academy. I reckon they encountered Sea Dragon Academy folks; otherwise, they wouldn’t have been slaughtered."
Yang Rui surveyed the surroundings, noticing many footprints heading in the same direction. "We should go elsewhere; these tracks suggest at least five people. Heading there would be suicidal; better to avoid them."
"You scared? I want to kill more and check their Storage Belts for treasures." Unconcerned, Chu Linfeng dismissed, unfazed even if ordinary class folks gathered.
Yang Rui rolled her eyes at Chu Linfeng and said, "I’m not afraid if you’re not. Why don’t we compete to see who kills more?"
"Compete? Sure, I won’t lose to you!" Chu Linfeng said with a laugh.
