Chapter 673: City of frost

"What the— is that exactly who I think it is?" Zaque asked, eyes wide in surprise when he saw his wife walking towards them with a familiar cat.

Jonathan and Heiren turned to him, their eyebrows furrowed in confusion.

"What are you talking about, Zaque?" Heiren mumbled, stepping forward to take a peak at the corner of the wagon to know what his friend was talking about.

To the mediator’s surprise, a familiar white fluffy feline greeted his sight.

"Konoha!" Heiren gasped and pushed Zaque aside so he could get to his wife’s familiar. "It’s so finally good to see you! Where have you been all this time?"

Jonathan raised an eyebrow at the sight of Heiren tackling his wife and grabbing the feline from her grasp.

"Now that I see that cat." Renaldo commented from behind Zaque, startling the red haired mediator out of his skin. "Where has it been all this time? We didn’t see it the couple of times we came over. Did it go somewhere?"

"That’s what I would like to know, too." Zaque answered, basically telling them that he doesn’t know a thing about Konoha’s whereabouts.

"Looks like Heiren loves the creature." Renaldo commented, huffing.

"Out of all of us, it’s Heiren who was close with Lala, Konoha, and Richard." Quizen quipped from his spot inside the wagon, making the other mediators shift their attention to for a moment.

"You’ll be surprised." The blue haired mediator continued with a snort. "Itd Zaque who bakes the cookies and other stuff Heiren feeds to Konoha, but the cat doesn’t actually like Zaque at all. She often would be seen hanging around Heiren."

"It’s because Heiren is most gentle with them." Alhai butted in their conversation, taking a peek from between Renaldo and Zaque.

"Now that you mention it.." Jonathan mumbled, his gaze shifting to Heiren to the white cat that had her tail swaying as Heiren rubbed his cheek against hers. "Look at her being so happy in his arms and look at the face Coco is making."

Alhai huffed, the sound sounding more like a chuckle. "That’s probably because she’s the owner of Konoha, but unfortunately, she is closer to her husband."

As soon as Alhai finished speaking, all of them spotted Jacques walking over with Cleora trailing beside her.

"Oh, there’s your wife." Zaque pointed out towards the pink haired woman with a nod of his head. "And mother is with her, too. We’ll probably get moving once you’re done putting on your cloaks."

"Well, isn’t this delightful." Jonathan muttered under his breath, taking a step forward to meet Jacques halfway.

Zaque and his friends glanced at Renaldo, their eyes holding a puzzled look.

"So.. It’s been weeks since Jonathan started staying with you two, but it seems like there isn’t much of a progress in your relationship." Zaque mumbled, slowly trailing off to take a look at Jonathan and Jacques.

"My wife said that it’s better to let him settle in our life first." Renaldo answered with a shrug, a look of confusion crossing his features.

"But if you asked me, I would start courting him and trying to woo him to make sure that he will stay with us." The scarfed mediator added with a huff, making his friends let out a breathy laugh under their breaths.

"Sounds tough." Zaque hummed and turned his attention to his wife.

He immediately perked up when he spotted Coco walking towards them with Heiren hurrying beside her, his arms wrapped around Konoha in a protective manner.

"It seems like we’ll get moving any minute now." Alhai stated, the corner of his lips curling into a soft smile.

Just right after Alhai said those words, Jacques, Cleora, and Jonathan walked over, but it was Jonathan who handed Renaldo his cloak instead of Jacques.

"If you left something in the wagon, it’s better to take it." Cleora spoke up, her voice loud enough for everyone to hear.

"What for, mother?" Quizen asked, blinking owlishly.

"We’ll be travelling through the city using a carriage instead." Cleora hummed with a small smile creeping to her lips. "We already arrived at the city of frost and all of you are my beloved family now. It wouldn’t be appropriate to continue traveling using a wagon."

"City of frost..?" Coco repeated her mother’s words when she got close enough.

"City of frost, the title given to the City of Archensheen due to the harsh cold weather they experience all year round." Zaque stated as he glanced at his wife.

"There’s no summer here?" Quizen gasped, his face losing its color from shock.

"Yes, there’s no summer here." Cleora clarified with a giggle. "But we can go to the villages near the south if you want to experience the summer heat."

"No, no, no, it’s fine!" Quizen laughed nervously and scrambled to get close to Coco.

Cleora followed his movement and could only him. "Anyway, put on your cloaks, gather your things from the wagon, then let’s go. Your carriages are already waiting for you."

Coco beamed and turned to Zaque. "The carriage looked so comfortable! I’m sure all of you will love it."

"Really?" Zaque hummed, his lips twitching.

Cleora ignored her daughter and noticed that no one moved to go inside the wagon, so she raised an eyebrow. "No one left anything inside? Are you all good to go?"

Renaldo had just finished slipping himself inside the cloak and turned to Cleora. "Yes. All our things were out on the other wagon."

"Oh." Cleora blinked in surprise. "Well then, let’s hurry along now."

The older woman turned in her heels and started walking, making Coco and the others trail behind her like lost puppies.

Cleora couldn’t help, but laugh at the sight. "This makes me feel like I’m a mother duck."

"You kind of are." Coco commented, not finding it difficult to agree with her mother’s words due to how her husbands, soon-to-be husband, and friends started calling her mother.

"I know." Cleora giggled, trying to focus on the path ahead of her.
