Chapter 172: FALLING UNCONSCIOUS

Whoosh!

Whoosh!

Whoosh!

The arrows hit the target three consecutive times.

Aristia was training with the arrow, aiming to hit the bullseye. With the amount of practice and training she had undergone since she entered this world, her body had become considerably more agile and flexible.

The aura also helped her to fasten her training, yet after having the dream where she seemed to be in some kind of danger for some reason, she increased the amount of training she underwent, training herself even outside the classes with the captain.

The purpose of the dream was unexplainable to her. It was as if something was reminding her of the need to become stronger.

She also could not tell her parents about it as it would seem strange to tell them that she had a dream of herself when she had grown up. That might raise questions that she couldn’t and wasn’t willing to answer, so she resorted to become stronger to be able to defend herself if such a situation did occur.

She could still vividly remember the malicious eyes of the assassin. She would only feel reassured if she became stronger.

She trained vigorously, each time exerting herself past her limit. That was why she was currently training now, when the sun had just set. She would always train in the evenings, when the knights had already ended training and left, leaving the training grounds empty.

She wiped the sweat off her forehead.

[Oh, I’m thirsty.]

"Princess, have a glass of water." Adeline approached her with a tray containing water.

"Thank you, Linny." Aristia collected the glass of water from her and drank half of the water before returning the glass to Adeline. She smiled brightly, "You’re my spirit guardian."

Adeline laughed before saying, "Princess, it is almost time for dinner." She collected the glass of water.

"Okay, I’m done with training." Aristia followed Adeline to the mansion.

Owen also stood up from the bench and followed behind. He had been engaged in hand-to-hand combat with Aristia and had been watching as she trained her archery skills.

He wondered why she suddenly developed interest in fighting without weapons. All the trainings she usually had with the captain involved weapons; sword training, archery, she was even learning to throw spears, even joking and calling it javelin, not that he had ever heard the word, though it seemed oddly familiar to him.

Aristia, however, was clear on the reason she asked Owen to be her training partner. She needed to be skilled in fighting without weapons because she could meet a situation where she wasn’t with any weapons, so that then she wouldn’t be utterly defenseless.

Owen, along with his training with Hugh, was being trained by her father’s shadow guards too. She told him to not go easy on her in their training together so that she would use her full potential.

Aristia headed to her room for a bath, then headed to the dining room.

Just as she arrived and took her seat, Alaric also came in and behind him were her parents.

The meal began after they sat down.

"You’ve been training a lot recently, Tia." Catherine started in the middle of their meal as she stabbed the meat with her fork, pausing her action to look Aristia in the eye. "Be mindful of your health and don’t train too hard."

She was just raising her concern. Her daughter was constantly training. She would train, attend her classes, go through her business matters and train. She even added new activities to her training. Catherine didn’t know where she got the ideas for those training methods. She was worried it would become too much for her small body.

Aristia’s hand movement ppausedon hearing her mother’s voice, especially when it was filled with so much worry and concern. "I will reduce the amount of time I train everyday, then."

Just as she said the last words, her vision blurred and her body sitting upright on the chair suddenly swayed, almost causing her to drop the fork in her hand.

"Are you alright, Tia?" Wilson asked, noticing how the fork almost slipped from her hand, worry showed in his eyes.

"I... yes." Aristia blinked, trying to clear the black dots in her eyes. "I am fine. Maybe I just need some rest."

"You need to rest, Tia." Catherine frowned. Her daughter clearly did not look fine.

Aristia nodded slowly. Everyone was looking at her with worry. Her father who sat at the head of the table, her mother who sat at his right opposite her while she sat at his left, Alaric who sat beside her, and even Owen, who sat opposite Alaric beside her mother.

"You’ll need to stop training for a while." Wilson said, and he didn’t look like he would listen to anything else. Just reducing the hours his daughter spent training was too little. She needed to stop training for some time.

Aristia couldn’t respond. She actually agreed with him. She was feeling a little lightheaded. After taking a few more sips of the soup, she put down her spoon and stood up.

"Then, I’ll go back to my room now, Papa and mama."

"Alright, goodnight dear." Catherine said, her worried gaze following Aristia’s form as she got down from her seat and headed to the door.

Aristia turned to leave the dining room. She had only walked a few steps when a wave of dizziness hit her. There was nothing to hold onto to steady herself. The next second, her vision darkened and she collapsed on the floor.

"Tia!"

"Princess!"

Her parents, Alaric and Owen cried out in shock. They immediately left their seats, not caring that the utensils in their hand fell to the floor, and ran towards her.

Their cry of worry alerted the people standing outside the dining room as the Butler immediately opened the door.

Adeline ran into the dining room hurriedly. She had heard her princess’s name being yelled out and now seeing her lying on the floor, unmoving, she surprisingly burst into tears.

"My princess...!"

Aristia felt herself being lifted off the ground, still slightly conscious even though her eyes were closed.

Wilson turned to his wife and the butler, "I’ll carry her to her room. Henry, call the..."

Their voices faded away in Aristia’s mind. She couldn’t hear anything and neither could she feel anything again.

Wilson picked up his daughter in his arms and carried her to her room with swift steps. "Send for the physician." He ordered the butler.

Catherine, Alaric, Adeline and Owen followed immediately to her room. Wilson gently placed her on the bed as Catherine came forward.

She placed her palm on Aristia’s forehead and retracted her hand. "Oh my, she’s running a fever."

Adeline quickly rushed to the bathroom, coming out soon after with a bowl of water and a small cloth.

"Give it to me." Catherine collected the bowl of water and cloth from Adeline and began to wipe Aristia’s forehead.

But instead of going down, her temperature seemed to keep increasing. Her skin also became pale.

Minutes later, Catherine shook her head. "It’s still rising." She said worriedly.

Knock.

Knock.

Knock.

Three knocks on the door cut through the heavy atmosphere as the voice of the Butler rang out.

"Master, the physician has arrived."

If Aristia was awake, she would have marvelled at how quickly the physician had arrived when it hadn’t even been fifteen minutes since she fainted.

"Come in." Wilson commanded.

The door opened almost immediately after Wilson gave the order.

A short middle aged man with a scruffy beard and mustache, holding a box in his right hand, entered the room with the butler.

He bowed respectfully at the people in the room, "Greetings, Your Royal Highnesses," while approaching the bed.

Alaric, Owen and the butler were sent out of the room, leaving only Wilson, Catherine and Adeline.

The physician started to arrange his tools on the bed, then started to examine Aristia. It wasn’t easy because he could feel Wilson’s gaze drilling into his back.

After a few moments of silence in the room as they waited for him to finish his examination, the physician turned to face them, his brows tightly furrowed.

"Your Highness, there’s nothing wrong with the third princess." He gave the results of his examination.

As soon as he completed the sentence, he felt a heavy weight pressing down on him, it was almost to the point where he found it hard to breathe.

The Grand Duke was suppressing him with his aura.

"My daughter suddenly lost consciousness. Her temperature keeps rising, and you’re telling me that there is nothing wrong with her?" His voice was cold and dark.

Right now, he wasn’t only the Imperial Prince and only Grand Duke of the kingdom, he was also a protective father worried for his daughter’s health.

The physician struggled to get up as he had fallen to the ground when Wilson released his aura.

"My lord, please spare me. There really is nothing wrong with her highness." He struggled to get his words out under the immense pressure crushing him.

"Will." Catherine called softly, coming to place her soft hand on his arm. Wilson withdrew his aura and turned to look at his wife, his cold look fading and his expression softening.

Catherine smiled reassuringly, "Tia is going to be fine." She was worried and angry too, but she had to calm her husband. The physician looked like he would pass out any second later.

Wilson sighed as he gave the physician a fleeting glance. "Leave."

"Yes, my lord." The physician wasted no time in obeying the order, quickly leaving the room. He didn’t want to be on the receiving end of the Imperial Prince’s wrath again.

He quickly bowed in gratitude to the Imperial Princess for coming to his aid, and fled the room like he was being chased.
