Narika: The Ghost Bride-Chapter 249 - Two Hundred And Fourty-Nine:The Reunion(1).
Everyone has been so focused on preparing for the fight in two days’ time to notice that Adrik, was the only one who seemed indifferent about the whole thing. Since he watched his mother die and resurrected, he has sat down to watch his life play right in front of his eyes, to realize that he needed rest.
From all these dramas, he didn’t ask for this. This wasn’t the peaceful life he pictured out for himself while growing up, but then life has its own plan set out for everyone, but his own having to involve his three days old son turning ten right in front of his eyes, was unaccounted for.
Not only was he not there throughout the whole pregnancy thing, which was as a result of his father and now they were stuck in this mess too because of him. The only good thing he has done was to bring back his mother from the dead, but watching her interaction since she woke up, he could understand that she preferred being dead.
Which wouldn’t have given him the chance to tender an apology to her, if truly she died. Yeah! He was angry at her, but for how long was he planning on keeping it that way, and for the fact that he has siblings, ones that were probably dead as a result of their father.
Adrik couldn’t really speak, because no one could understand what he was going through. It was like his mind was a ticking bomb of its own, waiting for the right time to explode. 𝘧𝑟𝑒𝑒𝘸𝘦𝘣𝑛𝑜𝘷𝑒𝓁.𝘤𝘰𝓂
He watched Narika try as much as possible to act like their son wasn’t stepping to his death in two days time. The prophecy had brought him out in the spotlight as some savior, but they didn’t really explain the part where he was to assist his grandfather to kill an ancient demon, one of the first to have existed.
How can a three day old child do that?
He wondered, but then watching Narika act like there was no problem, like there wouldn’t be any risk to them, he’s convinced to believe too that they would come out of this.
He sat on top of the bed in their bedroom, with his hand covering his face. It’s been a while since he last slept, how could he?
There’s chaos surrounding him everywhere, with Rowan’s miniony everywhere, he has to stay alert for whichever one that would try to manipulate the safety of Narika and Area, they were the only important thing to him here, until a few hours he knew about Jason, his other father.
Lucifer has been keeping him prisoner here and yet his mother, didn’t try to let him know about it, sometimes he wondered what control Lucifer had over her for her to keep such vital information away from him, when he could help.
If anything, he has been looking for ways to trigger his father’s anger, so that the both of them could have a talk man to man, but it was too late for having any talk, when everyone was preoccupied with defeating Rowan.
After watching the altercation with Narika’s grandfather, Adrik was reminded of Vanessa. He wondered if she had become one of Rowan’s pawns. She has always been a scaredy little brat that couldn’t leave their father, and now there’s no Jason nor Marilyn to protect her, he wondered if she was safe.
She has to be.
There’s no way Rowan could have taken control of everyone’s mind on earth, Narika is preoccupied with ways to find her uncle too, without any idea if he was dead or alive, but just like he had hopes that Vanessa was safe, whoever holding her uncle and his girl hostage should have by now let them go right?
The room door opened, without him looking up to know who it was it’s Narika, he turned abruptly to lie on the bed since he didn’t want her pity.
He saw the way she looked at him when he watched Erin slice his mother’s neck in front of everyone, and that experience was not good, no doubt and right now all he needed was an alone time for him to gather his thoughts, to know how exactly to strategize killing his father after this fight is over.
That was the only conclusion he could come up with, with ways to end their suffering. As long as there’s Lucifer in the picture, it would always be a life of pain because after Rowan, who knows who else he has angered out there that would come for them next?
He was still in his thoughts, until he heard a soft feminine voice call out his name, one that didn’t belong to Narika, before he had to turn around to meet the visitor.
"Polina." He called. Looking at the first woman he actually loved, no, who he thought he was in love with. Adrik hadn’t stopped to think that his feelings for Narika was mainly based on the prophecy, like if there was no prophecy he would still be with Polina, with whom he has a normal life with before it came down crushing on them.
But right now looking at her, he realized that regardless of his feelings as a result of the prophecy, there was no way he would leave Narika and settle with Polina. Narika brings out the side of him that wants to be a better person for her and their son.
"What are you doing?" He asked, he hasn’t seen her around much since after his siblings woke him up from coma, or for him to remember that his father had her hostage here.
Another plan of his that was already fucked up because of Rowan, but at the same time it’s just pure luck that she’s here instead of on earth, where no one would know about her whereabouts.
"I’m sorry for walking in like that, but with the commotion outside there was no one to talk to." Polina said, coming closer but the look Adrik sent her way made her stand still where she was. Then did she remember that they aren’t friends anymore, she tried to kill Narika that was enough reason for him to change towards her.
But that was the least of her problems right now, she was no longer interested in his business with Narika, all she wanted right now was her normal life.
"What do you want?" He asked, trying to keep the conversation between them simple so that she could get out of here, he didn’t want to complicate things between him and Narika, if she walks in here and sees the two of them.
He wouldn’t say that he wouldn’t see Narika whooping her ass, because she’s possessive over him where his former flings are involved, especially Sakura.
Polina gulped hard, trying to hide how desperate she was but he could see right through everything that was happening to her, to know that she was not okay.
Until she broke down into tears, then confessed." I need to see my dad, please."

Ares was doing a good job keeping his grandfather company, and when he woked up he was really surprised to see a kid, as little as him here in hell, which made him wonder how on earth that was possible.
Alex touched his temple, trying to ease the slight headache he had. The only thing he could remember was passing out after he was done relaying the message of that demon, who had invaded his mind to Lucifer.
"What’s your name?" He asked Ares, who said nothing but continued staring at him like he was dumb, which made Alex stop with the questions and try to figure out his next step after this.
He looked around his surroundings to know that he’s not on earth, nor was he back at Rowan’s lair.
"You shouldn’t walk out of places you know nothing of." The little boy who spoke made him confirm that he was not dumb, and he could swear, the kid looked really familiar but he couldn’t exactly explain what his mind was trying to suggest, before the door opened and in walked Narika with a smile.
"I see you are finally back on your feet, old man." She said, to which Alex chuckled, before spreading his arms open for her to engulf him in a hug that she needed.
" I missed you." Alex said, to which she affirmed to his words, before turning to face Ares.
"I would like you to meet someone, grandpa."She said, running her hands through Ares’ hair when he came to stop before her.
Alex didn’t need anyone to explain further to him, because the resemblance was top notch." H..how is that possible?" He asked, flabbergasted.
"That would be a story to tell anytime." Narika said, before turning to Ares." That’s your grandfather, little bud." She said, before a wild smile appeared on his face and he wasted no time to hug Alex.
"You are all grown up, but you are still my little one." Alex said, trying hard not to feel bad about Nelson and Marya not being here to see this.
Seeing as Narika hasn’t asked about them, he didn’t want to push through with the conversation either, until the door was pushed open and in walked Polina with tears strolling down her face.
"Father." She called, choking on her tears, as Alex’s eyes widened. He was right all long, she’s here in hell.
Narika stood by the side holding Ares, while watching Alex reconcile with Polina, while deep down, she wanted to know about her parents, but she was scared of what he would tell her.
That’s why she chose not to until the war is over.
