My Weekly Refreshing Mentor Spirit-Chapter 337 - 301: Journey to the Interstellar Corps
The next day, the family decided not to visit the now bustling bed and breakfast again, mainly because there were too many people.
For some unknown reason, their house now featured a lot of musical instruments of various kinds that looked very professional, not the children’s versions, including guitars, basses, drum sets, pianos, violins, cellos, etc...
Seeing a storage room being tidied up and turned into a music room, complete with professional recording equipment and echo-cancelling acoustic panels, plus sound insulation barriers set up on the entire wall, Xue Dili was at a loss for words.
He just wanted to drink beer at home, but his daughters wanted to form a band. What to do? Waiting for an answer online, quite urgent.
The main reason was probably that the kids were bored at home since they didn’t have to go to school. Also, they were at the age where nobody, human or dog, seemed to like them, and even the neighbor’s big yellow dog or orange cat didn’t really want to play with them. They also didn’t have to study a lot of extraneous subjects like they would in school, leaving them plenty of free time.
For example, Little Dragon Lady mostly only studied elementary language and math, while White Crow Siamese needed only to study math and physics, since these are universally recognized subjects across the cosmos. The rest were up to them to decide if they wanted to learn, and maybe due to their increased abilities affecting brain development, they seemed to grasp things after just one look.
Now both could complete full junior high school exam papers.
However, the Old Demon Emperor seemed to want talents in strategy and internal affairs, but they seemed to have grown up a bit skewed here, all turning into science folks...
Oh well, no big deal.
As for leisure time, they couldn’t possibly play video games all day, naturally leading them to develop other hobbies like forming a band...
Fafnir was a bit better; she was preparing for adult college entrance exams, which meant more study subjects for her. Xue Dili noticed she had those all-subject study materials in her room, which meant her time for playing instruments wasn’t much.
The rest, however, after getting bored with games, would rush into the instrument room to mess around. Sometimes, entering the room, one would find instruments scattered everywhere and bits of snacks strewn all over the floor.
Xue Dili: "..."
Oh well, if they love playing instruments, let them play.
...
"I’m heading out to take care of some things today, probably won’t be back till later," Xue Dili greeted.
As for today’s schedule, he had already planned to set up a furnace and begin the forging of the Savior Holy Sword.
Xue Dili intended to borrow a bit of his mom’s authority to forge the Savior Holy Sword’s dust into a new Holy Sword and elevate it to a Treasure.
"Take that little girl with you," the old man’s voice suddenly suggested.
"Hmm?" Xue Dili asked, puzzled.
"Isn’t the sword you’re forging related to her? Might as well bring her along. The birth of a Treasure requires a historic achievement to serve as an elevating prefix," the old man reminded Xue Dili.
In that case, even the newly forged sword wouldn’t be the original Holy Sword anymore, just a new weapon stemming from the original Holy Sword.
But never mind, no need to overthink it, he was never one to overthink anyway.
Xue Dili promptly went to Fafnir’s room and knocked on the door.
When Fafnir opened it, Xue Dili glanced inside and couldn’t help but grimace.
The desk was covered with various study materials, test papers, and textbooks found from who knows where, with the walls plastered with her completed incorrect questions, problem analyses, and exam answer points.
And at the top, there was a slogan written on an A4 paper: "Fourteen days of hard work before the exam, then off to Ke University."
Xue Dili: "..."
Actually, the schedules for full-time and part-time courses are staggered, whether it’s classes or class times...
Xue roughly scanned the room. Fafnir chose the politics-history-geography track, which was completely different from what Xue Dili had studied before; the only subject he could teach her was math.
However, today wasn’t about teaching math, so Xue Dili said, "I’m going to reforge Uncle Brave’s Holy Sword. Want to join?"
Fafnir was caught off guard. She glanced at the calendar with "13 days until the exam" marked on it, then looked back at Xue Dili and replied, "Sure!"
...
Inside Mount Fuji, at an undetectable cave entrance, was where Xue Dili found himself.
He planned to use magma for forging, choosing Mount Fuji simply because it was the nearest active volcano. Other volcanoes were either dormant or not hot enough.
Mount Fuji was just right, active and spewing plenty of lava, and hot enough inside.
Xue Dili immediately began his work, cutting the dagger that pierced Zeus’s second brother into several pieces, then placed them into an iron can, filling the remaining gaps with the Holy Sword’s ashes.
"Start melting and forging. I’ll teach you the exact steps," the old man cheerfully said.
"Alright!"
Lava and flames came to life within the volcano, and the steel billet inside the iron can perfectly fused, showcasing its extraordinary quality once released from the mold.
"First extend the sword body, then hammer out a sword shape, extending it according to the short sword model I gave you," the old man kept instructing in the consciousness space.
Xue Dili wielded an Enchanted Hammer, continuously pounding away, while the steel billet continuously elongated in his hands. This material, with its mysterious properties, demonstrated perfect flexibility.
After every few dozen strikes, the billet was placed back into the magma to reheat before proceeding with the next round of hammering.
Through one strike after another, the steel billet gradually extended, now over a meter long.
