My Three Beautiful Vampire Wives can hear my Inner Thoughts-Chapter 153: Blood Paint
The moment the eyes opened, the world changed.
A deep tremor rolled through the entire city like a giant heartbeat rising from beneath the ground.
Every street.
Every tower.
Every stone wall.
The earth itself seemed to react to those awakening eyes.
Citizens froze in place as the massive blood hands looming above them slowly flexed their fingers. The surface of each crimson limb rippled as if it were alive. The countless eyes embedded within them blinked once, then again, their dark pupils slowly focusing on the world around them.
Then the color spread.
At first it looked like thin lines of liquid running along the stone streets.
Red.
Dark red.
The blood that formed the giant hands began dripping down onto the city like thick paint spilling from an overturned jar.
Drops struck the ground.
Another drop landed on a market stall.
Another splashed across a stone statue.
Within seconds those drops began spreading outward across the surfaces they touched.
Stone turned red.
Walls turned red.
The glowing crystal lamps that had filled the streets with golden light became coated with thick crimson stains that distorted their glow into eerie shadows.
The beautiful white city slowly transformed.
Roofs became red.
Roads became red.
The fountain in the central plaza that had once sent clear water into the air now ran with swirling crimson liquid that splashed violently against the basin.
Citizens screamed as the strange blood paint rained down around them.
"What is happening?!"
"Run!"
The red liquid spread across clothing, armor, and skin. People tried wiping it away but the more they struggled the deeper the color spread, soaking into fabric and clinging to their bodies like living dye.
Even the sorcerers surrounding Cain were not spared.
The first drop struck the shoulder of a young mage standing on a rooftop.
He looked down in confusion.
"What the—"
Before he could finish speaking more red droplets landed on his robe.
Then more.
Within moments the blue cloth of his sorcerer uniform turned completely crimson.
Another mage raised a hand to cast a spell but the red liquid splashed across his fingers and ran down his arm.
"What kind of magic is this?"
The blood paint continued falling from the massive hands above the city.
Entire streets turned into flowing red rivers.
Buildings looked as though someone had thrown buckets of blood across their walls.
Even the air itself seemed stained.
The once peaceful magical kingdom now looked like a nightmare city pulled from a dark legend.
Above it all, Cain floated calmly in the sky.
His wings remained spread wide behind him while his coat moved gently in the night wind.
His eyes watched the transformation without emotion.
Below him, the sorcerers stood frozen in horror as the entire city changed color around them.
The older sorcerer whispered with a trembling voice.
"This... this is not magic I have ever seen."
Another mage looked at his own hands now covered in the dark red liquid.
"It’s everywhere..."
Suddenly the great doors of the royal palace burst open.
A powerful wave of mana rolled across the plaza.
Several figures stepped outside.
The king.
Behind him walked his ministers and royal advisers, each of them releasing powerful magical auras that pushed back against the suffocating blood energy filling the city.
Their robes glowed with enchanted symbols while floating magical constructs formed around them like protective shields.
The king stepped forward until he stood at the edge of the palace steps.
His eyes lifted toward the sky where Cain hovered.
For a moment he studied the figure carefully.
The wings.
The calm expression.
The overwhelming blood mana that had covered the entire city.
The king’s face grew serious.
"That level of power..."
He took a slow breath.
"Are you one of the vampire lords?"
His voice rose loudly so that everyone could hear.
"Answer me!"
Cain looked down at him.
The king spread his arms slightly.
"There is a pact between humanity and the vampire empires!"
His voice carried both anger and authority.
"For hundreds of years both races have respected that agreement!"
Several ministers nodded behind him.
One elderly adviser stepped forward and shouted.
"Vampire noble, you know the law!"
The king continued.
"No vampire lord would break the pact without reason!"
His eyes narrowed.
"So explain yourself!"
The plaza fell silent again as everyone waited for the response.
Cain blinked once.
Then he raised a finger and casually cleaned his ear as if trying to remove dust.
His bored expression did not change.
"What deal?"
The king stared.
Cain lowered his hand slowly.
"I don’t deal with food."
The words fell into the silence like a heavy stone.
For a moment nobody moved.
Then the king’s face turned red with fury.
"Food?!"
He stepped forward angrily.
"You dare speak of humanity that way?!"
His voice echoed through the plaza.
"Do you know where you are standing?! This kingdom has stood for four hundred years!"
His hand pointed toward the streets where terrified citizens were hiding behind buildings.
"These people built this land with their blood and sweat!"
His voice grew louder with every word.
"You vampires hide in your dark empires and drink blood while calling yourselves rulers of the night!"
The ministers behind him began shouting as well.
"You monsters speak of honor yet prey on the weak!"
"You talk about power but live like parasites!"
The king raised both arms.
"And now one of you dares enter my kingdom and call humanity food?!"
His gaze burned with rage.
"I will not allow it!"
Above him, Cain sighed softly.
"You talk too much."
The king’s anger flared again.
"Ministers!"
His hand lifted sharply.
"Attack him!"
The royal sorcerers behind him raised their staffs instantly.
Magic circles appeared around them.
But something strange happened.
Several of the sorcerers who had been splashed with the red paint earlier suddenly stepped forward.
One of them raised his staff.
But instead of pointing it toward Cain, he pointed it toward the king’s ministers.
The plaza went silent again.
The king blinked.
"What are you doing?"
Another sorcerer moved beside the first.
His eyes looked confused and frightened.
Yet his body moved as if controlled by invisible strings.
"Forgive us... Your Majesty..."
Then he cast his spell.
BOOM.
A blast of lightning shot toward the royal ministers.
The palace guards shouted in alarm.
"Traitors!"
More sorcerers covered in red paint suddenly began attacking the ministers.
Fireballs.
Wind blades.
Stone spears.
The spells exploded across the plaza as chaos erupted.
The ministers barely raised their shields in time.
One of them shouted furiously.
"You traitors!"
Another yelled.
"What madness is this?!"
But the red covered sorcerers looked horrified themselves.
One mage screamed while casting another spell.
"Sir we can’t control our bodies!"
Another cried out desperately.
"Something is forcing us!"
Their arms moved on their own.
Their staffs pointed toward their former allies.
Spell after spell continued flying across the plaza.
The ministers struggled to defend themselves.
"Hold your formation!"
"Protect the king!"
Magical barriers formed rapidly as the royal sorcerers fought back against their own comrades.
Explosions echoed through the city.
The ground shook under the constant impact of spells clashing against shields and counter attacks.
Above them Cain watched calmly.
The corners of his mouth curved slightly.
"Round two."
The battle below intensified.
The controlled sorcerers launched another wave of magic.
The ministers answered with their own powerful spells.
Fire collided with lightning.
Stone shattered against energy barriers.
The plaza turned into a battlefield of flashing light and roaring explosions.
The king stood in the center of it all with fury burning in his eyes.
"This cursed vampire!"
He raised his hand.
"Enough!"
His own mana surged outward.
A massive golden magic circle suddenly appeared high above Cain.
The circle stretched across the sky like a glowing sun made from complex runes and spinning symbols.
The air trembled under its immense power.
The king pointed upward with fierce determination.
"DOWN!!
