Chapter 405: Chapter 405: The Most Similar Part

The expression on her little face wasn’t very good. "Jared Quinn, I’m seriously worried that if you keep getting injured like this, wouldn’t you be riddled with ailments when you’re older? Then, wouldn’t I, a woman, have to take care of you?

Taking care of you is one thing, but if by any bad luck you suddenly pass away, won’t I become a widow?

Being a widow doesn’t matter, I’m just afraid that by then I’d be too lonely and might end up cheating on you, 𝙧𝙚𝙚𝔀𝒆𝓫𝓷𝙤𝓿𝒆𝙡.𝒄𝙤𝓶

I think I really need to reconsider whether or not to make our relationship public."

Jared Quinn’s eyelid twitched slightly. His large hand held her in place, and he gritted his teeth while glaring at her mouth that seemed to be asking for trouble. "Don’t worry, even if I’m plagued by illnesses, I can still grow old with you, and taking care of you will be a piece of cake."

Melody Thorne’s ears turned red in an instant, yet she could hear another meaning in Jared Quinn’s words.

"Hmph," Melody Thorne pulled her hand back and turned to leave the ward.

"Jared, I think your emotional intelligence is getting higher," Harold Chapman, unable to hold back, spoke up while standing aside. "Look at how your wife is both embarrassed and angry; I bet she loves you to death, of course."

"Nonsense, what’s with the ’again’? She’s always loved me to death," Dr. Mo chimed in again.

Jared Quinn finished buttoning up the few remaining buttons on his long shirt and stood up. "Call the old house and tell the old man we’ll be there shortly."

"Okay."

Melody Thorne came out of the restroom, and suddenly a few people appeared out of nowhere and surrounded her.

"Miss Tang, please come with us," the leader, dressed in a military-style outfit with a green metallic shoulder strap slung across his shoulder, said. The emblem of Long Teng was quite prominent there.

"Who are you?" Melody Thorne looked around at the men surrounding her. She was certain she hadn’t seen these people before.

"Please," those people had no intention of answering any of her questions. "Our miss wants to see you, please come with us."

Melody Thorne restrained her gaze, and coldness gradually emerged. "What if I refuse? Since you could find this place, you must know that Jared Quinn is also at this hospital. If I scream a few times, forget about taking me away, you won’t be able to escape either!"

"No need to be angry, Miss Tang. Don’t you want to know about your family background? We’ve come to invite you to meet your family, we wouldn’t dare to do anything to you, you can rest assured of that," the man still spoke politely.

Family?

...

Outside a VIP suite in a high-class hotel.

"Miss Tang, you may go inside. We’ll be waiting outside."

Melody Thorne pushed open the door in front of her. She wasn’t afraid of them playing any tricks in front of her; that hospital belonged to Jared Quinn, and once he realized she was missing, he would immediately look for her whereabouts.

And this was the easiest place to be found.

Inside the room stood a woman, her hair styled in large waves similar to hers, her figure was almost the same, wearing a burgundy dress that reached down to her thighs.

"Are you the relative?" Melody Thorne stood behind Stella Seymour, arms crossed, speaking with a scrutinizing gaze.

Upon hearing the voice, Stella Seymour slowly turned around, her delicate face adorned with heavy makeup, especially her bright red thin lips which were quite striking.

And her facial features bore some resemblance to Melody, especially those eyes.

Stella Seymour’s gaze assessed Melody Thorne up and down, her bright red lips curling into a smile. "Yes, it’s me."
