My Super Sassy Dad: Stop Running Away, Mrs. Quinn!-Chapter 404: Why Didn’t You Tell Me You Were Hurt?
His gaze fixed on the woman’s provocative lips in the rearview mirror. "Don’t worry, divorce is never an option. I, Jared Quinn, will never marry another woman again."
Those words... oddly comforting. 𝓯𝓻𝒆𝙚𝒘𝓮𝙗𝓷𝒐𝓿𝙚𝒍.𝙘𝓸𝙢
Melody Thorne couldn’t help but smile. "So, you plan to be with me for the rest of your life then?"
Jared Quinn gave another indifferent glance. "So you better be prepared to be with me for a lifetime!"
Finally, Melody Thorne’s lips curled into a slight smile...
"What about me?" Timmy’s face didn’t look good. "Why do I only hear about you being together without me?"
"You’re with us too," Melody Thorne said softly, looking at Timmy with countless affection in her eyes.
"Screech–" Suddenly, the sound of tires skidding on the road came to their ears. Immediately after, the car was hit hard, making a loud noise and nearly being knocked off the road.
"What’s going on?" Though she was fastened by her seatbelt, Melody Thorne’s forehead smacked hard against the front seat, and Timmy, whom she was holding, almost flew out.
When Melody Thorne lifted her head, the front was filled with the smell of blood in the car.
"Jared Quinn," Melody Thorne hurriedly looked forward. Jared Quinn’s white shirt was already stained red.
"Were you injured before?" Stricken, Melody Thorne put Timmy down and finally understood why Jared Quinn didn’t take off his clothes when he disturbed her with those things right after returning.
He came back from Crestfall not unscathed but kept it hidden.
The cars trailing behind quickly stopped and opened the doors.
"Mr. Quinn."
"Don’t panic, it’s nothing," Jared Quinn’s deep eyes sparkled with a cold light, his gaze swept over the car that had just hit him and quickly fled.
"Someone’s already gone after it," the man in black said.
"Hurry to the hospital," Melody Thorne’s hand hastily pressed against Jared Quinn’s wound.
......
"How is he?"
Dr. Mo treated Jared Quinn’s wound. "He was already injured, and now the wound has torn open a bit. He needs some time to recuperate."
"Why didn’t you tell me you were injured?" Melody Thorne’s lips pressed tightly together. "You tell me nothing. Why should I go public with our relationship? You must be hiding a lot from me."
She quietly accused him, and Jared Quinn’s brow twitched slightly. Over the past two decades, he couldn’t recall how many times he’d been injured. He had single-handedly taken over so many companies, even abroad, always shadowed by those waiting to strike.
These... should be minor matters, right?
"These minor wounds, don’t worry, they won’t affect our relationship," Jared Quinn’s lips curled into a cynical smile, dismissing those minor injuries.
As if the ones injured were others, not him.
Suddenly, Jared Quinn’s gaze turned icy. "Have those people been caught?"
"They’ve been caught and interrogated. They claim to be from Crestfall and were with the people who ambushed you there," Harold Chapman spoke.
"You know what to do, right?"
"Yes, don’t worry, it’s already being handled." Harold Chapman’s face showed some hesitation. "We don’t know if this matter is related to that person? It’s very possible that they planned it together, inside and outside cooperation. Should we investigate further?"
"Not for now," Jared Quinn stood up, glancing down at his wound.
Melody Thorne walked a few steps forward, standing in front of Jared Quinn, tenderly buttoning up his shirt, one button at a time.
