My Scheming Little Devil-Chapter 2064: Unlucky Hand
Lieutenant Helian looked at her and laughed.
Yiyi clenched her teeth, feeling utterly embarrassed, wanting to turn her head away, but in the end, she just chuckled lightly, "Yes, you’re right, I am that kind of person. Congratulations, you’ve finally understood me."
She turned around and walked out of the meeting room.
As she slowly walked downstairs, her mind was in chaos. Meeting him again had stirred her previously calm heart, which wasn’t supposed to happen.
Yiyi, annoyed, patted her head. Stop thinking about it, stop thinking about it, she should be focusing on her exams.
Unexpectedly, due to such a lapse, just as she reached the bottom of the stairs, a bucket of filthy stuff was dumped over her head. Rice covered her hair, various picked-clean chicken and duck bones landed on her shoulders, a few strips of greens hung from her forehead, and her clothes were drenched with colorful vegetable juices.
Yiyi was already numb. What a lack of creativity in this prank. She’s always been careful to avoid such low-level antics, but unfortunately, her mind was too chaotic today and she didn’t notice.
This group of guys was truly bored, going through so much trouble to collect trash from the dining hall.
Steady footsteps came from upstairs, and Yiyi instinctively glanced up. It was Ling Kong walking down.
She immediately felt her face flush with embarrassment. This is the most mortifying thing in the world: being seen by your ex whom you dumped in such a terrible, embarrassing state. It’s utterly humiliating.
Yiyi noticed his initially shocked expression, then his face turned ashen.
Obviously, anyone would feel queasy seeing such filthy, leftover food juices, let alone a privileged gentleman like him who was surely disgusted.
"Looks like my classmates knew I skipped lunch, so they specially delivered a feast," she said self-deprecatingly, pulling the strip of greens off her forehead, trying to lighten the awkward situation.
Apparently, he didn’t appreciate her humor, as his expression grew even darker.
Yiyi felt it was really boring and embarrassing.
She thought she’d better disappear quickly.
Just as she was about to make her escape, her right hand was unexpectedly grabbed. Oh my god, she felt sorry for her unfortunate arm, always in trouble, as she winced in pain.
"Who did this?" he demanded angrily, accompanied by the tightening grip.
Yiyi turned to look and saw Ling Kong’s eyes were terrifying, like they were shooting daggers.
She naturally wouldn’t misunderstand his reaction as concern for her. She could somewhat understand what was going on: the esteemed Lieutenant Helian personally appeared at the school, and someone dared to play such a disgusting prank in his presence, clearly disrespecting him, so of course he was furious.
But could he not squeeze her hand like that? Ow, it hurt so much.
"It’s really not a big deal," Yiyi hurriedly pulled back her pitiful arm. She’d need to take more medicine and apply more ointment later. What an unlucky day; everyone seemed to have a vendetta against her arm.
"Not a big deal?" 𝕗𝗿𝕖𝐞𝐰𝗲𝕓𝐧𝕠𝕧𝗲𝐥.𝚌𝐨𝚖
Ling Kong’s eyes seemed to want to burn holes through her.
"Is this the kind of life you lead at school? Won’t you report such things to the school authorities?"
Yiyi chuckled, "What’s the use of reporting? Will anyone care? Given my current status, not having to crawl is already good enough. Do you really think I’m foolish enough to believe those politicians’ words about equal treatment from your father’s faction? I’m not naive enough not to know my situation. It’s normal for your faction to vent their hatred towards my adoptive father on me. These pranks are harmless; enduring them is no big deal."
Ling Kong pressed his lips into a tight, cold line in suppressed anger.
Finally, he released Yiyi, left after saying one last thing.
