The SSS Ranked Demon King Goes to the Hero Academy-Chapter 46: Jeremy’s interruption. (3)
Claire had responded to Jeremy in a very curt and clear manner.
Though he wasn’t discouraged by it. In fact, he had experience flirting and knew that would be Claire’s reaction.
However, his goal wasn’t to get Claire into bed, though she was his type. His goal was to anger Aku.
That’s why, when he was rejected, he didn’t hesitate to grab the woman by the arm and keep insisting.
"Are you sure? You don’t look like someone who would turn down a little action," Jeremy insisted with an arrogant attitude.
Claire grimaced when Jeremy touched her arm, not because it hurt but because it was annoying.
"Are you calling me easy?" the woman asked with a cold and cutting voice that would have frozen anyone’s heart.
Though Jeremy wasn’t just anyone and a comment like that wouldn’t defeat him.
"Me? Not at all. I’m just saying you seem like a girl who knows how to have fun," the man responded, moving closer to her and at the same time pulling her toward him, only having the bar between them.
Claire clicked her tongue. She was clearly losing patience, though it was true that sometimes some arrogant heroes had tried to overstep with her. Few times had they escalated so much.
"’Knowing how to have fun’ doesn’t mean I do it with just any clown," she responded, not disguising her contempt this time. 𝐟𝚛𝕖𝚎𝕨𝗲𝐛𝚗𝐨𝐯𝐞𝕝.𝐜𝗼𝗺
Jeremy smiled, feeling the conversation was going exactly where he wanted.
"So what? Haven’t you seen that provocative body you have? You should take responsibility, don’t you think?" the man asked with unprecedented shamelessness.
Jeremy had already escalated enough. Now he just had to see Aku’s reaction.
Surely Aku would try to play hero, but when he faced him, he would end up being humiliated by the incredible power difference between them.
Or at least that was Jeremy’s plan, since ironically it was Aku who had defeated the two girls who had defeated him.
However, when Jeremy laid his gaze on Aku, he didn’t see someone trembling trying to contain their rage. In fact, the demon king hadn’t even frowned.
Quite the opposite. The demon king wasn’t paying the slightest attention to the conversation between Jeremy and Claire.
He was happily eating the pastries.
Cream, chocolate, or whipped cream. If Aku were told to choose between one of those flavors, he would surely be in a dilemma.
Each pastry had its good side and its bad side.
So deciding a winner would be extremely difficult.
However, seeing him act like that made Jeremy angrier.
Why wasn’t he acting?
Jeremy was really confused and frustrated.
He didn’t understand why Aku wasn’t bursting with rage or at least paying him even a little attention.
None of his "strategies" had worked. Jeremy felt increasingly insulted.
That’s why he couldn’t stand it anymore, and the one who ended up exploding was him.
Jeremy had fallen into his own game.
"Bastard!" Jeremy roared as he grabbed the plate with pastries and threw them. "Are you going to keep ignoring me the whole time?"
He asked with extreme annoyance.
However, before he could say anything else, the demon king acted.
In an instant, a series of darkness tentacles coiled around each of Jeremy’s limbs, his torso, and his mouth, immobilizing him in an instant.
"Confusing indifference with mercy can become dangerous," the demon king warned with an ominous and icy voice. "Because it can lead you to cross limits you should never have crossed."
Aku’s gaze fixed on Jeremy.
He had made a terrible mistake.
The demon king could "forgive" someone else eating his brownie, mainly because he just had to ask for another.
However, there was a crime the demon king could not forgive.
Wasting food.
The moment the demon king ate for the first time, something changed within him. Something was created.
An enormous respect for food.
As someone who hadn’t experienced most of the everyday pleasures others had, Aku appreciated those small pleasures much more.
Discovering that new "culinary world" had been something practically glorious for him.
He respected food and enjoyed it.
That’s why wasting it was like despising everything he felt toward food.
"Food is to be respected," the boy announced as the darkness tentacle moved away from Jeremy’s mouth.
With a gesture, the demon king made Jeremy’s face slam against the floor where one of the pastries was.
"If you throw it away, you eat it," the demon king ordered with an authoritative voice.
Though Jeremy wasn’t at all happy with that situation. After all, that attack had caught him off guard.
"Damn bastard! Who the hell do you think you are?" Jeremy roared as he quickly activated his power.
With a shimmer of blue pixels, multiple drones were summoned in the room. However, before they could do anything, several darkness tentacles lunged at them.
The drones were destroyed in an instant with an explosion.
"That’s enough! Stop fighting! It’s forbidden! Don’t make me call security, because if I do, they’ll expel you from the academy before you even enter," Claire then shouted.
The demon king raised an eyebrow at those words. However, he also didn’t want to risk being disqualified before even entering the academy.
With a gesture, the darkness tentacles vanished, disappearing completely.
Jeremy stood up furiously.
"Tch, you’re lucky that bitch got involved in the fight, because otherwise I was going to massacre you," Jeremy proclaimed with rage. In the end, it hadn’t gone as he wanted.
In the end, he hadn’t managed to get Aku to humiliate himself or defeat him in combat.
On the contrary, he was the one who had been humiliated and beaten.
Unable to bear the shame, the man left the cafeteria at a quick pace, leaving as hastily as he had entered.
No one commented on anything. Those seated at the tables hadn’t even paid attention to the scene, perhaps because, as Aku suspected, they were depressed about having failed the trial.
The demon king sighed. Perhaps he should have imposed himself more quickly on Jeremy. Perhaps he should have struck him at his first disrespect.
However, that was the problem with not wanting to stand out. Or rather, not looking for trouble.
"I’m sorry for the inconvenience," the demon king finally said to Claire.
While he felt no reason to apologize, he knew it was good manners to say so.
Claire shook her head with a smile.
"Don’t apologize. Everything’s fine."
