Chapter 35 -35: Treatment Attempts

Bai Qian’s illusory figure emerged from the chaos. When she saw Wang Zijia, she was momentarily stunned before subconsciously looking down at her intact hands, her face not daring to believe that she could see again.

“Your vision hasn’t yet recovered, first look around,” Wang Zijia began, speaking.

“What?” Bai Qian turned around in confusion, asking perplexed, “What am I supposed to see? The white fog?”

Could she not see her weights even though they were hers?

Was this chaotic white fog truly the Sea of Consciousness?

Wang Zijia frowned, “What can you see then?”

“Erm, sir, the big light orb above your head is too dazzling, I can’t make out anything clearly!” Bai Qian shielded her eyes, she said.

Wang Zijia looked up at the Red Copper Weight overhead, and he had a general understanding of the situation. Then he slipped a thought and made the weight disappear.

“It’s gone, the big light orb is gone!” Bai Qian then looked around, speaking, “There’s nothing else. Apart from you sir, it’s all blank.”

Wang Zijia nodded and beckoned, “If you feel anything from my next moves, try to resist.”

Bai Qian silently nodded.

Wang Zijia then made a small movement with his mind, communicating with the Red Copper Weight, he felt a balance scale appear in his hand, which he then held in his left hand. With a motion of his right hand, the Evil Seed Weights flew into the scale, and then he held the Eye Weights in his right hand.

“Exchange!”

With Wang Zijia’s choice, the Evil Seed Weights used to make the pill guide slowly disappeared, and a newborn weight merged with the Light Spot Eye Weights in his hand.

“Do you feel anything?” Wang Zijia who was speaking sideways stood still with a slight frown because Bai Qian slowly disappeared as he exchanged.

With a slight thought, the Red Copper Weight brought him back to his Sea of Consciousness, then he immediately exited the Sea of Consciousness.

He saw Bai Qian curled up on the ground, covering her eyes.

“What’s wrong?” Wang Zijia asked, frowning.

“Hurts, it’s itching, there’s something in my eyes.” Bai Qian replied softly.

“If you want to be blind for the rest of your life, you can continue to cover them, scratching it a few times won’t hurt,” Wang Zijia said indifferently.

Startled by Wang Zijia’s words, Bai Qian quickly removed her hands and stood up.

Wang Zijia bent down and looked at her closely, seeing numerous flesh sprouts squirming and growing in the formerly healed but now hollow eyes.

Within these few moments, the growth of most of the eyeballs was completed.

After a few moments of inspection, Bai Qian involuntarily took a step back, blinked, and used her hands to shield her eyes from the not so strong sunlight. Then she incredulously looked at her hands again.

“Can you see?” Wang Zijia asked.

“Yes!” Bai Qian, still stunned, nodded vigorously in response.

“Is there anything unusual?” Wang Zijia carefully looked at her newly born eyes, asking.

“My eyes sting a little, everywhere seems so bright,” Bai Qian, squinting, said.

“You’ll adapt in a while. Did you see anything before you came out?” Wang Zijia stood up straight, no longer observing.

“Sir, you were holding a light orb, and after waving your hands a couple of times, my eyes began to ache, and then I came out suddenly,” Bai Qian described the last events.

From her description, Wang Zijia got a general understanding of the situation. It appeared that after the Demon Seeding of the Spiritual Roots had been completed, she couldn’t resist when he exchanged the weights.

That was right, after all, the Innate Technique said, once the Demon Seed Invasion was complete, he could even control life and death.

However, it seemed like if he didn’t actively pull her in, she couldn’t go into that space.

Was that truly the Sea of Consciousness?

While he was contemplating this, Wang Zijia entered the space again for a series of experiments.

What he truly wished for was to trade for Bai Qian’s silver-white weights, which would enable him to hire people to cultivate. Unfortunately, he couldn’t carry out interdimensional operations, at least not at present.

“Let’s call it a day. Starting tomorrow, we’ll begin the restoration of your face. It requires a delicate touch. As for your right arm…” At this point, he looked her up and down and continued:

“You’re too skinny right now, it’s a little tricky to build up a hand. Let’s focus on gaining weight this month, and we’ll talk about your arm next month. After all, you don’t have any cultivation at this moment, feeding you an Explosive Qi Pill would be asking for death.”

“As for other medicines which have miraculous effects on mortals, they’re too expensive. It’s more practical to let you gain some weight. Oh, and there’s half an ear that needs to be fixed. I’ll probably manage that tomorrow. I should be able to conjure up that amount of flesh.”

“Oh!” Bai Qian responded, slightly confused.

“It’s getting late. Go back and rest. I don’t need you to stay here any longer.” Wang Zijia said before dismissing her.

“Oh!” Upon hearing his words, Bai Qian obediently left the study room.

She transformed upon exiting the study room, no longer her wooden self. She examined her hands, then her feet, before gazing around. She finally appeared somewhat childlike.

…..

Not long after Bai Qian left, Wang Zijia took out the recently acquired technique: Rune Perception and started browsing through its contents.

As he flipped through it, a spiritual light flashed around the text, flying straight into his mind.

After a while, when he had browsed the whole text, he realized that the book in his hand had not changed, and he was slightly startled.

Upon reopening the book, he noticed that the front section had disappeared, while the back section remained. He also found that he couldn’t clearly remember the associated techniques in his sea of consciousness.

He reread the book meticulously. This time it became as delicate as a tissue paper and crumbled at the slightest touch. The techniques in his mind also became clear.

He checked his information again.

The techniques were: Talisman Paper Making Technique (minor accomplishment 500/1000),

Clay Shape-Shifting Stealth Technique (beginner 300/600),

Earth Spear Spirit Arrow Technique (beginner 200/400),

Rune Perception (not yet started 50/300),

Tai Chi Fist: 117.

He initially planned to make talisman papers for money, but now that he had Rune Perception, he could craft talismans.

However, mastering primary techniques only required a value of one thousand, while advanced mastery required three thousand.

At present, he only had a little over one thousand silver-white skill weights. He could pile up the low-level technique of Talisman Paper Making to the great mastery, yet for the high-level technique of Rune Perception, it would cost one thousand five hundred for minor accomplishment, which he still lacked by five hundred.

Hence, he needed to test whether the yield from pure blank card production under the Grand Achievement Level Talisman Paper making technique was higher, or the yield from mastering talisman crafting was higher.

With a slight thought, he allocated four hundred Earth-based technique weights, together with the Taiji weight reserve, temporarily piled up the talisman paper technique to great mastery.

As the Talisman Paper Making Technique reached Grand Mastery, Wang Zijia discovered that in the sea of consciousness, an illusory white rune slowly condensed, and numerous insights emerged in his mind.

After a long while, when he exited the state, he thoroughly comprehended the Talisman Paper Making Technique.

When a technique reached Great Mastery, it could condense a related technique rune. This was another condition to breakthrough the Child Stage!

After exiting his Sea of Consciousness, he took out the hundred spiritual materials he had just received, not needing to handle them with care anymore.

With a raise of his hand, the materials danced before him. Under manipulation of his mana, they quickly solidified into a card.

Then, he casually tossed it to one side, and began the process once more.

And so it continued. Except for the occasional unsuccessful production, cards continually emerged, seemingly produced on an assembly line.

Having cultivated for over seven years, Wang Zijia created almost seventy cards in one go, before finally stopping due to exhaustion.

He then took out two magic money jade coins that were left over from the day before and started meditating to recover. As the spiritual power was drained from the jade coins, the beautifully detailed coins quickly dulled. Even so, it took more than two hours for him to fully recover.

The spiritual energy in the magic money was reduced by half, enough for at most two more recoveries.
