My Perfect Female CEO-Chapter 264 - 261: Pregnant with a Baby
Chapter 264: Chapter 261: Pregnant with a Baby
Xu Qianqian certainly didn’t dare to hang up the phone, she only said it for show, and then handed the phone to the eldest cousin. She knew the second cousin was a bit unreliable, but her parents trusted the eldest cousin the most.
Chu Mengyao glared at Xu Qianqian with blame before taking the phone, "Aunt and Uncle, Qianqian is with me. You can relax; I’ll take care of her, so don’t worry."
"Mengyao, we’re at ease with Qianqian by your side. But why did she run over to your place without giving us a call? It really worried us," Xu’s mom said softly, her previous scolding tone gone.
"Last night, when Qianqian came over, it was a bit late. We were happy and had a little to drink, got a bit tipsy, and went to bed early. It’s Qianqian’s fault for not informing you, Aunt and Uncle. I’ll have a talk with her later," Chu Mengyao said calmly, "I wasn’t right either. I should have called you to avoid causing you worry."
"Mengyao, among the kids, you’re the most considerate. How could you be blamed for this? Look at Qianqian, she’s grown up but doesn’t know how to behave. If she had a third of your maturity, it would be great," Xu’s mom and dad had no doubts about what Mengyao said.
Xu’s dad spoke up, "Mengyao, I heard Biyao is starting her own company. Has the date been decided? I’m waiting to set off firecrackers and drink."
"Uncle, don’t worry. Biyao is preparing for the company opening, but the exact date hasn’t been set yet. When the time comes, there’ll be drinks for you. Others might not come, but as her uncle, you cannot be absent," Chu Mengyao said respectfully.
"Of course, I’m the heavyweight guest here," Xu’s dad said proudly.
Xu’s dad and mom chatted with Mengyao for a while, then with Biyao, and finally the phone was handed back to Xu Qianqian. Xu’s dad said sternly, "Learn from Mengyao. If you cause any trouble, I’ll break your leg."
"Dad, what are you saying? I’m your daughter, I’m the best behaved," Xu Qianqian said sweetly.
"Don’t sweet talk me. If I find out you’ve done something wrong, I’ll kick you out," Xu’s dad said coldly.
"Dad, I get it. I’m with my cousin, you can relax," Xu Qianqian said, feeling quite aggrieved. frёeweɓηovel_coɱ
On the other end, Xu’s mom defended her daughter and complained to Xu’s dad, then said, "Qianqian, if you want to stay with your cousin for a few days, we don’t have any opinions. But you better behave, if I hear even one bad word from Mengyao, I won’t let you off."
"Sure, mom, I heard you. I’ll be like a little white rabbit, obediently staying by my cousin’s side, ensuring no trouble," Xu Qianqian said weakly, "If there’s nothing else, I’ll hang up. I’m still having breakfast."
"Okay, then..." As Xu’s mom was about to end the call, she suddenly raised her voice, "What did you say? Baby, what baby? You stayed out all night, and now you have a baby. This unfilial daughter, are you messing around? Who’s the guy that got you pregnant? I’ll deal with him."
Xu’s mom was furious, and Xu’s dad was also in a rage.
"@#¥%%...&." Xu Qianqian was flustered, not knowing how to explain, and said pitifully, "Dad, Mom, can you be more trendy? When I say baby, I mean myself, not my baby. Oh dear, there’s such a big generation gap, I’m hanging up."
Xu’s dad and mom looked at each other, still somewhat bewildered by their daughter’s words.
"Our daughter calling herself ’baby’ in front of us means she doesn’t want to grow up and just wants to be our good baby. It’s her way of pleasing us," Xu’s dad interpreted.
"I think so too, she’s really good with words. No matter how old she becomes, she’ll always be our baby," Xu’s mom said, smiling widely.
Xu Qianqian didn’t know that her calling herself "baby" actually made her parents happy.
Over with Ye Fan and Chu Mengyao, the sisters were stifling their laughter, having put the call on speakerphone, so all three heard the conversation between Xu Qianqian and her parents, causing their odd expressions, almost bursting into laughter.
"Yes, finally the storm has passed," Xu Qianqian breathed a genuine sigh of relief.
"Baby, where’s your baby?" Chu Biyao teased, the first ’baby’ referring to Xu Qianqian, the second following Xu’s mom’s implication, as she glanced at Xu Qianqian’s belly.
"Boring, there’s a generation gap between me and my parents, is there one between you and me too?" Xu Qianqian rolled her eyes at Chu Biyao.
Chu Mengyao’s face sank as she crossed her arms and reprimanded, "Qianqian, you need to know your limits when being mischievous. Do you know what happened while you were gone all night? Uncle and Aunt didn’t sleep a wink, called your classmates one by one. For those without phones, they drove over, scared you might be in trouble, searched the whole night without finding you. Reflect seriously and if you dare to be so mischievous again, I’ll tie you up and hand you over to Uncle. See if you cry then."
Xu’s dad and mom were indeed worried as Mengyao described, visiting every classmate Xu Qianqian was close to, and finally mobilizing classmates to inquire about Xu Qianqian’s whereabouts, but couldn’t find where she had gone.
Dongfang City is quite large, and Xu Qianqian’s home is over a hundred miles from Mengyao’s villa.
Xu’s dad couldn’t have imagined that Xu Qianqian would run off to Mengyao’s place. Had he realized this earlier, he would have called Mengyao without delay, making it impossible to cover for Xu Qianqian.
"I know I was wrong, last night I was scared to death too. Big cousin, please don’t be mad at me, I almost got into trouble, I’m lucky to have escaped," Xu Qianqian was genuinely frightened of her eldest cousin, especially when Mengyao was serious, just like a little girl intimidated by a stern big sister.
She really knew she was wrong; otherwise, how would she have sobbed to her two cousins when she saw them?
"Knowing you were wrong is good. It’s chaotic outside, not going home late at night and coming to my place is fine, but if something happened to you outside, what would we do?" Chu Mengyao said, also worried.
"Sister, don’t scold our baby anymore, she’s genuinely scared and knows she’s wrong. She’s been acting recklessly for so long, have you ever seen her cry? Let’s figure out what’s going on and see if we can find someone to stand up for her," Chu Biyao said, filled with righteous indignation.
Chu Mengyao finally put aside her mindset of reprimanding.
Ye Fan, however, said nothing about rescuing Xu Qianqian.
