Chapter 714: *He isn’t alone!*
Ian was right, Roman thought; it was time to stop playing around and get serious. But before he could charge at Ian again—as he undeniably had the advantage in combat experience, both in techniques and weapon handling—golden blades suddenly appeared all around him. freewёbnoνel.com
They emerged unexpectedly, and before Roman could feel surrounded by them, as they were truly everywhere, the golden blades attacked his force field simultaneously.
When Roman realized that his force field was losing power, he immediately recharged it with new black particles. As more golden blades formed around his shield right after the first attack, Roman sheathed his scimitars in their scabbard, which were always on his back during a battle, and placed his hands on his force field.
A smile appeared on his face as he sent a large dose of black particles into it. Before the golden blades could strike his force field again, he created tentacles using the Evil Divine element that emerged from various points of his shield and effortlessly destroyed all the golden blades.
He then retrieved his scimitars and crossed them in front of him, pouring two-thirds of his energy reserve into their blades. The black flames reappeared immediately, smaller than before but far more powerful due to the more condensed black particles from which they were formed.
Seeing that Ian was clearly waiting for him to launch his attack, Roman wasted no time, uncrossing his blades in a swift and powerful motion.
A black X formed across the width of the arena and shot toward Ian at incredible speed. But this X was only one part of the attack; in its wake, black particles spread everywhere, reproducing on their own due to their high concentration.
This time, Ian took the threat seriously. While also creating a force field around himself using the Evil Divine element, he prepared for the impact of this overwhelming attack.
Unfortunately, his force field could not withstand this attack, and he was thrown nearly a hundred meters away. He screamed in pain as the black particles used in Roman’s attack breached his defenses and penetrated his body.
Liam’s Mark of the Union began to glow more intensely, and he would have dropped to his knees if Elias hadn’t supported him. The pain he felt through their bond was excruciating, but he could also sense Ian’s determination to continue the fight.
Jordan then said, noticing the black wounds caused by the black particles spreading across Ian’s body, "We need to stop the fight; he won’t be able to rid himself of such a large amount of black particles."
But Liam responded, as he could feel Ian’s desire to continue this fight, "He isn’t alone! He wants to continue the fight; it’s very important to him. I have rarely felt him this determined."
Liam then conjured a legendary-grade healing potion and immediately drank it to refill his energy reserve.
He thanked Elias and stepped back a little from their group before unleashing his powers to their fullest capacity. His eyes turned golden, and the symbol on his forehead, which signified he was a Divine Wolf, began to glow just like his Mark of the Union.
A golden aura then enveloped his body and was absorbed by his Mark of the Union a few seconds later. Liam then said, satisfied, "Now it should be fine; he will be able to resume the fight!"
He rejoined them, and they all watched curiously as Ian’s tattoos, which were of a dark blood-red color, suddenly began to shimmer, with golden reflections appearing here and there.
Elias then said to Liam, "Well done! Your bond is incredibly strong, and without you, I would have had no choice but to stop this fight."
In the arena, Ian then felt Liam’s immense power flowing through his veins and spreading throughout his body. His energy reserve, which had been nearly empty, was once again filled, and as for his powers, they gradually returned to normal, as the divine energy Liam had channeled into his body cleared away the black particles for him.
Ian was able to rise again, and the black spots on his skin that the black particles had started to form while attacking him were now disappearing quickly.
But the air beneath the force field, due to this truly destructive attack, was now saturated with black particles, so he chose to absorb some of them with his right side and used his left side to destroy another part.
As Liam continued to send him divine energy, this was no longer a problem for him, and once the air under the force field was purified, Roman, who had just used one of his best attacks, couldn’t help but mutter—which did not escape the most of them who had ultra-developed senses—"Impressive... really impressive!"
Ian smiled despite himself, flattered that the King of the Drakonits acknowledged his worth; then he extinguished the flames on his body, returning to his Divine Drakonit transformation, and said to Roman, "Let’s just fight with our weapons; otherwise, we risk endangering the lives of others. These black particles are truly too vicious."
Roman agreed with that, but he still said to him, "Don’t worry; everything was under my control. I would never put the lives of my people in danger."
He then explained to Ian, "I would have come to remove those black particles from your body if you had declared a forfeit. As for those saturating the air, my men and I would have absorbed them before removing the force field."
Ian nodded and replied, "You are right; an attack like that can be kept under control. However, if we continue to use the Evil Divine element in this confined space, the black particles will reproduce too rapidly, and a catastrophe could still happen."
Roman nodded and replied, "Indeed, young Drakonit! I confess that I let myself go, as Elias is here anyway."
He added, taking back his scimitars, "As you wish then, let’s fight honorably, without using our elements, like the true warriors the Drakonits are!"
