My Infinite Cultivation System-Chapter 82: Killing of the ancient humans
Alex wanted to awaken his own martial soul.
He looked at the two ancient humans standing before him and spoke in a calm tone that sounded almost casual.
"Give me that technique."
His voice carried no pressure, yet the words caused Logan and Ye Tian’s faces to immediately turn pale.
They had not expected such a direct demand.
Logan swallowed nervously before speaking.
"We do not have that technique. Please believe us, sir. The awakening method is controlled by our overlord. He only teaches it to those who are about to awaken their martial soul."
Logan paused briefly, then continued with visible tension in his voice.
"After the awakening process is completed, the technique is removed from our memories. It is a restriction placed directly on our souls."
Alex listened quietly.
His expression remained calm, as if the answer did not surprise him.
Such methods were not uncommon among powerful cultivators. A soul restriction that erased certain memories after use was entirely possible.
Still, Alex preferred confirmation.
"Rafael. Are they telling the truth?" he asked.
A brief silence followed.
[Yes.]
Alex nodded slightly.
His mind began calculating immediately.
"Well. In that case, I will have to visit their pocket dimension later," he thought calmly.
"If their overlord controls the technique, then that place is the only location where I can obtain it."
Another thought surfaced soon after.
"That can wait until Godzilla breaks through to the Star Realm."
Once that happened, he would have far more freedom to explore the planet and hidden spaces.
Alex’s attention then shifted toward the enormous ruin gate behind them.
The towering metallic door was embedded deep within the mountain wall, its surface covered with strange mechanical patterns that glowed faintly under the dim light of the chamber.
Earlier, Logan had mentioned something interesting.
Alex looked back at the two men.
"Earlier you said this ruin belongs to the Mecha Race," he said calmly.
"Explain how you know that."
He gestured toward the gate.
"And tell me what you expect to find inside."
Logan hesitated for a moment before raising his hand and pointing at the door.
"Sir, every ruin gate carries its own racial pattern," he explained.
"The structures built by different civilizations always contain distinct designs that reveal their origin."
He looked at the glowing circuits covering the metal surface.
"These patterns belong to the Mecha Race."
Ye Tian nodded and added quietly, "During the time when we roamed this planet, many powerful races used to visit us."
Alex raised an eyebrow slightly.
"Visit you?"
Logan quickly explained.
"Our cultivation lineage originates from a Supreme of the Immortal Human Race. Because we followed his path, our bloodline carried a fragment of his inheritance."
His voice held faint pride despite the fear in his eyes.
"As a result, many other races wanted to form alliances with us. They believed that maintaining a connection with our lineage would bring them benefits."
Alex listened silently.
Logan’s expression gradually darkened as he continued.
"But everything eventually collapsed."
"That Supreme ancestor fell to the hands of powerful enemies, and soon after that a great disaster struck our race as well."
The two men fell silent.
Alex eventually spoke again.
"Do you know how to enter this ruin?"
Both men shook their heads immediately.
"No."
"That is exactly why we came here to investigate," Logan said.
"We were hoping to find some clues."
Alex stared at them quietly.
His gaze was calm.
Too calm.
Then he spoke a single sentence.
"Now that you are useless to me, you can both die."
The words fell into the air like cold iron.
Logan and Ye Tian froze.
Their eyes widened in disbelief.
"What?"
"Why?" Ye Tian asked with visible horror.
They had cooperated with Alex the entire time. Killing them now made no sense.
Alex gave a faint cold snort.
"You thought I would not notice the murderous intent hidden in your souls."
The two men stiffened instantly.
"That hatred in your eyes was not something that appeared suddenly," Alex continued calmly.
"It is the kind of resentment that forms over countless years."
His gaze sharpened slightly.
"You people hate the new civilization of humanity to you very core and I can not allow such people to live after meeting me."
For a moment Logan’s face turned pale.
Then disbelief appeared.
"How did you discover that?" he asked.
"That should be impossible."
Their emotional restraint finally shattered.
Their eyes slowly turned red, filled with madness and rage that had been suppressed for a long time.
Ye Tian’s expression twisted with hatred. 𝒻𝓇𝑒𝘦𝘸𝑒𝒷𝓃ℴ𝑣𝘦𝑙.𝒸ℴ𝘮
"A filthy lower creature like you dares to judge us?"
His voice rose into a furious roar.
"We were born superior to beings like you!"
Logan’s face also became distorted with bitterness.
"We are ancient cultivators with noble lineage. Yet we were trapped in that miserable hell for countless years!"
His eyes burned with resentment.
"Meanwhile you appear from nowhere and obtain endless opportunities. Your power grows rapidly while we were forced to rot in that cursed prison."
The hatred in their voices was raw and violent.
Alex listened without any visible reaction.
Then he simply replied.
"Ask your mothers about that."
His tone was completely indifferent.
The next moment he activated his power.
Molecular gravity instantly compressed the space around the two men.
The invisible force crushed their bodies from every direction.
Boom.
Boom.
Two explosions echoed through the chamber.
Logan and Ye Tian did not even have time to scream.
Their bodies burst apart under the terrifying pressure, instantly turning into clouds of blood mist that scattered across the stone floor.
The violent energy slowly dissipated.
Silence returned.
The system notification suddenly appeared in Alex’s vision.
[Ultimate Physique has evolved]
Alex glanced at the new status screen.
[Ultimate Physique]
[Level: 21]
[Life Essence: 0 / 1.5M]
He blinked slightly in surprise.
"Whoa."
"How did those two give me so much Life Essence?", he actually needed around 300000 more to evolve and these two gave him that much even though they were only martial emperor level existences.
According to him, planetary beings gave him 100000, so it didn’t make any sense to him.
Even powerful beasts had not provided such a large amount before.
A moment later the system responded.
[Ding.]
[Killing intelligent creatures that actively cultivate provides three times more Life Essence.]
Alex nodded slowly.
"That explains it."
Cultivators possessed refined energy within their bodies. Naturally their value as Life Essence sources would be far higher.
A small grin appeared on Alex’s face.
"Interesting."
"Looks like I should finish this trial quickly."
He looked again at the enormous ruin gate.
"After that, I can start traveling across the cosmos."
His grin widened slightly.
"I am sure there are plenty of space pirates and criminals who would make excellent sources of Life Essence."
The idea seemed quite appealing.
A quiet laugh escaped his lips.
Then Alex crossed his arms and examined the gate once more.
The ancient mechanical patterns continued glowing faintly on its surface.
"Rafael," he said calmly.
"Do you have any ideas about how to open this ruin?"
His eyes carried clear interest.
"I am certain there are many valuable things hidden inside."
For several seconds there was no response.
Then the soul system finally replied.
[No. But try to get closer to the gate.]
