My Idol System: An Idol, But Also A Savior-Chapter 189: A Chaotic Morning
In the end, after being kicked once by Joshua, Luther finally, somewhat unwillingly, went into the bathroom. The others were in no hurry to leave. Leonard looked at Joshua and reminded him, "You’d better not sleep in the same bed as Luther. Just look at that perverted face of his, who knows what he might do in the middle of the night."
"I can hear you. If you don’t want to get beaten up, shut up, kid." Luther’s voice echoed from inside the bathroom.
Leonard immediately jumped up. "You think I’m afraid of you?!"
These two already had a history of fighting, so Joshua could not help but say, "Why do you all keep arguing like this, over nothing at all."
Joshua lowered his eyes and spoke softly. "It’s already been almost a year. There’s only a little more than a year left. Whether you all stay or not, at the very least, don’t disappoint the fans."
Leonard fell silent.
Elly had said quite a lot to Joshua, yet he himself did not know what he could actually do. What exactly was Elly thinking, believing that the others would listen to him?
But this was the first program where they appeared in front of so many cameras as a group, aside from being on stage.
Although fans often joked about their relationship, arguments actually broke out even more frequently. ShineOn had long since become a group with hardly any cohesion to speak of.
Just then, the bridge of Joshua’s nose was suddenly scratched lightly. He startled a little and looked back, only to see Leonard looking at him, saying somewhat awkwardly, "Don’t be upset. I won’t argue anymore."
Joshua could not help but smile slightly. He took Leonard’s finger and said with a gentle smile, "I’m not upset."
After a while, Luther came out as well. Joshua grabbed his clothes and went into the bathroom. At this point, only four people were left outside.
Leonard looked at Luther and suddenly said, "Get along."
Luther raised his eyebrows and looked at him.
Leonard then looked at the others. "Since Joshua wants us to get along, then at least behave decently in public."
Justin, standing to the side, could not help but speak up. "You’re the one who never tries to act harmonious." The implication was that Leonard should learn to rein himself in instead of reminding others.
Luther expressed deep agreement with Justin’s remark.
Leonard felt as if the volcano in his chest was about to erupt again.
He looked at them with a cold expression. "Once the era of ShineOn is over, I’ll give every single one of you a punch."
With that, he left. He even wanted to kick the door, but remembering what he had just said, he merely walked out in a restrained manner.
Because it was the first night, and because Joshua had an allergic condition, ShineOn was given special treatment and did not have to do anything that night. They could have dinner, take a walk, and then rest.
Dinner consisted of simple, rustic dishes that were not overly elaborate, but the ingredients were extremely fresh.
Joshua was quite tired that day, so he did not go for a walk and simply returned to his room to sleep.
He checked his phone, and his inbox was already flooded with messages of concern from Nine, Luis, and Lance.
Lance was especially over the top, the number of messages he sent was almost on par with Nine.
Clearly, they had all watched the live broadcast and knew what had happened. Or perhaps there was no need to watch it at all. Joshua’s allergic, tear-streaked appearance had already been reported everywhere.
Joshua let Lance and Luis know that he was safe, then opened Nine’s messages.
He slowly read through them one by one. Although most of them were meaningless screams, Nine even arrogantly demanded to destroy the beer-cap flower garden at the farm.
Joshua could not help but find it a little amusing.
Just then, the phone suddenly rang. It was Nine.
The moment Joshua answered, Nine’s face appeared clearly on the screen. Nine raised his voice. "You read my messages and didn’t reply. You’ve got some nerve, Joshua!"
Hearing this, Joshua could not help but protest innocently. "I only just opened my phone. I hadn’t even finished reading the messages when you called."
Joshua could not help but wonder whether Nine was watching his inbox twenty-four seven.
Nine snorted coldly, then quickly examined Joshua in detail, scrutinizing him down to the tiniest detail. Seeing that Joshua was mostly fine, with only the corners of his eyes and the tip of his nose slightly red, he finally felt relieved. "You should have come straight back instead of continuing that stupid program! Do you have any idea how scared to death I was?!"
Joshua chuckled softly.
Nine immediately flared up. "You can still laugh?!"
Joshua waved his hand. "Alright, it’s just a mild allergy. Where we’re staying is pretty far from that hop field anyway, so nothing’s going to happen."
Nine said, "You always say that..."
Just then, the door suddenly opened. Luther came back with a bag of snacks from the convenience store.
The cold soda can pressed against Joshua’s cheek, making him flinch slightly.
"Who are you talking to?" Luther asked. His tone was gentle and indulgent, that low, husky voice that always made fans scream the moment they heard it.
Joshua smiled and took the soda from Luther’s hand. "It’s Nine. He’s worried about my allergy."
Luther raised an eyebrow and looked into the phone, his tone attentive. "Don’t worry. I’m Joshua’s roommate. I’ll definitely take good care of him."
Nine: "..." That just makes it even more worrying.
Nine looked at Luther coldly, thinking to himself.
A pack of hungry wolves. Luckily, Joshua only has his career in his heart, Nine thought. After chatting with Joshua for a while, he finally hung up the call with great reluctance.
Luther, looking a bit jealous, pounced over and wrapped his arms around Joshua, shaking him back and forth. "Am I your best friend or not, Joshua?"
Joshua took a sip of soda. The sweetness and fragrance of snow peach spread through his mouth, making him narrow his eyes happily.
Seeing Joshua’s expression, like a kitten being petted, Luther felt an itch in his heart. He reached out and lightly scratched Joshua’s chin. "You still haven’t answered me."
Joshua leaned his face into Luther’s hand and nodded. "Best friend."
Every time Joshua said that, Luther felt a slight ache in his heart, but it was still pretty good. At least it was better than having no status at all.
No one knew what was going on elsewhere, but Joshua and Luther were having a great time. Luther played games while Joshua sat obediently to the side watching, occasionally chatting and laughing.
"Look, Joshua, we’re definitely getting to lv2 this round. I’m just not used to it yet. Once I get the hang of it, I’ll play even better than Leonard..."
Luther kept talking, but suddenly felt his shoulder grow a little heavy. Joshua’s whole body leaned against him, his head tilting slightly before finally drooping down.
Luther hurriedly caught Joshua and gently laid him on the bed. Joshua hugged the blanket tightly, burying his face in the pillow, sleeping soundly.
The corners of his eyes were still a little red. Luther rubbed that spot with a pained expression, then seemed to remember something. He quickly grabbed a towel from the side and threw it straight toward the camera.
The lights went out, and Luther contentedly pulled Joshua into his arms.
They were best friends. What was wrong with best friends hugging each other to sleep?!
They had hugged each other to sleep before too. Joshua had even kept burrowing into his arms. Right now, they were just warming up their bond again!
Luther thought this was perfectly reasonable.
Early the next morning, when the sky had only just begun to brighten with a pale fish-belly white in the distance, a piercing alarm shattered the quiet of ShineOn’s small house.
"Ringggg Ringggg Ringggg!"
The sudden, blaring sound nearly made Joshua jump. His heart pounded as he looked around in confusion, still not fully awake.
Before he could react, he was suddenly pulled back. Only then did Joshua realize that he was tightly held in someone’s arms.
Despite the alarm being so loud, Luther was still drowsy, as if he had not woken up at all. The tip of his nose kept rubbing against Joshua, his hot breath lingering at Joshua’s jaw.
No one knew what he was dreaming about, but he suddenly smacked his lips and directly opened his mouth to bite Joshua’s ear.
Joshua’s eyes flew wide open. He immediately drew his leg back and kicked hard.
Luther was kicked straight off the bed. He startled awake, instinctively flailing around, his face full of panic. "What’s going on, what happened, is it an earthquake?!"
Joshua: "..."
He pressed his lips together and glared at Luther with clear indignation.
Only then did Luther recall his dream from just now. Joshua had suddenly fed him a pastry. He had only taken one bite, but the feeling was nothing like a pastry at all.
He scratched his head and laughed foolishly. "Joshua..."
Still not appeased, Joshua kicked him once more, then went straight to brush his teeth and wash up.
Luther was still smiling, quickly scrambling up and chasing after Joshua.
