My Idol System: An Idol, But Also A Savior-Chapter 188: Joshua and Luther Share a Room
The comments erupted almost instantly in a wave of panic and fear.
Henry quickly grabbed Joshua’s hand, stopping him from scratching any further. He asked urgently, "Joshua, do you know what you’re allergic to?"
Joshua was coughing and sneezing so hard he was nearly unable to breathe, let alone answer Henry.
By then, a mask had already been put on his face, and they hurried back to the house, where there was an air purifier.
Justin, standing to the side, quickly said, "Joshua is allergic to hops."
The others immediately turned to look at him. Ben also recalled, "There’s a hop field nearby. Judging by the timing, it should be flowering right about now."
Fortunately, Joshua’s allergic reaction was only mild. Still, it gave the fans quite a scare, and the livestream was stopped after Ben confirmed that everything was under control.
Their accommodation was a two-story vacation house. The design was filled with a natural atmosphere, with bamboo decorations everywhere, and even the floors were made of bamboo materials.
With the air purifier running, Joshua at least stopped sneezing. Still, he could not help raising his hand to his neck from time to time, only to have Luther quickly catch it from the side.
Joshua knew his skin was not itchy, but the inside of his throat was unbearably itchy, and he could not help acting on instinct.
He wiped his nose with one hand, while letting the tears run freely down his face. Even now, they were still pouring out with no sign of stopping.
Seeing the others frantically calling a doctor, Joshua could not help saying, "I’ll be fine in a bit. Starting tomorrow, I’ll just wear a mask and protective goggles when I go out." 𝓯𝙧𝓮𝓮𝒘𝓮𝙗𝙣𝒐𝒗𝒆𝓵.𝓬𝓸𝒎
Even as he said that, his voice was a little hoarse, no longer as clear as usual.
Ben was thoroughly panicked. A newly rising idol coming onto their show and then being unable to sing afterward would be a death sentence in the eyes of fans, no matter how one thought about it.
Justin said, "Ben mentioned this place is far from the hop fields, so the pollen probably won’t reach here."
Joshua smiled faintly when he heard that. "Hopefully?"
Suddenly, someone wiped Joshua’s cheek. Henry said in a low voice, "The tears still haven’t stopped..."
It was obvious he was talking on the phone.
Luther could not help leaning closer. "Can’t he use a tissue instead? What a brute. Does he even know how rough his hands are?"
Joshua said, "... I’m not made of flour, Luther."
At that moment, Leonard spoke up again. "Stop talking already. Your throat sounds like it’s about to tear. And besides, why have we never heard that you’re allergic to hops?"
And yet Justin was the only one who knew.
Joshua pouted slightly and said softly, "Well, we never drink beer anyway. And who would have known there’d be a hop field way off in the distance..."
Tears were still falling nonstop from his eyes. Paired with that expression, he looked as if he were sulking.
Leonard could not help parting his lips, but in the end he let out a breath, folded his arms, and stood to the side without saying another word.
After a long wait, the doctor finally arrived. Dressed in ordinary clothes, he gave Joshua a quick look and promptly said, "Luckily it’s just a mild allergic reaction. It’ll clear up in a few hours. You can apply a cool compress to his face. As for his throat, he should limit talking and avoid spicy or hot foods."
Joshua nodded repeatedly, looking at the others as if to say, See, I told you so.
But looking at the two trails of tears on his face, he did not seem smug at all. Instead, he looked utterly pitiful.
Luther wrapped an arm around Joshua and swayed him gently. "You scared me to death."
With things already like this, the room-assignment game obviously had no place for Joshua anymore. So in the end, the script turned into—
Ben said, "Alright then, let’s all look forward to seeing who will win the chance to sleep beside Princess Joshua!"
Joshua said, "... could you not phrase it like that?"
Ben laughed loudly, and the others looked thoroughly amused. Only Joshua kept wiping away his tears.
Joshua, "..."
Ben made a huge show of it, but in the end, the selection method was simply a random draw.
Luther laughed loudly and shot Joshua a look. "I’ll get you."
Joshua looked at Luther’s beautiful face and smiled. "Good luck."
"Joshua, you should wish me good luck too!" Leonard said unhappily.
Luther also shot him a glare. Why was it that every time he interacted with Joshua, Leonard had to stick his nose in and play the third wheel?!
Joshua nodded, clenched his fist, and pumped it up and down.
Justin could not help saying, "We really are just drawing lots."
It was not even a battle.
At this moment, Henry also returned after drawing his lot.
There were two rooms, so one room would have three people, and the other would have two.
Luther looked at Henry, wearing an unprecedentedly friendly smile. "You’ve already shared a dorm room with Joshua. Now it’s my turn."
Leonard directly let out a mocking laugh.
Luther did not bother with him and drew a slip of paper. He looked calm on the surface, but inside he was fairly nervous, not rushing to open it to see which room number it was.
In the end, the paper box was passed over to Joshua, who was sitting to the side. Joshua could not help looking at Ben. "Didn’t you say I didn’t need to participate?"
Ben chuckled. "Of course you do. Come on, our Joshua, draw a lot!"
Under Ben’s dramatic tone, Joshua also drew a slip of paper.
Luther almost immediately leaned over. "Alright, Joshua, open it and take a look."
The others gathered around as well, and Joshua felt a bit curious too.
He opened his slip of paper and saw that it clearly had the number 2 written on it.
Luther suddenly pounced and hugged him tightly. "I knew it. We were destined to belong together!"
Joshua did not even know when Luther had looked at his slip.
He looked at Luther, who was continuously rubbing his head against him, and in the end only gave a faint smile. "I know."
Leonard looked as if he had swallowed several flies. He let out a cold snort in silence and went back to his room. The large camera was quickly shut off as well. However, there were cameras everywhere in the house, including the bedrooms, though they could be covered up when sleeping.
As soon as Joshua entered the room, he turned off the recording device and then put it away inside the drawer.
A figure suddenly lunged from behind, pouncing on Joshua and sending both of them tumbling onto the soft bed.
Luther hugged Joshua tightly, rolling back and forth nonstop, looking extremely pleased with himself.
Joshua was like a stuffed toy, letting Luther do whatever he wanted, because any reaction would be meaningless. At this point, probably only dumping ice down Luther’s pants would make him let go.
After rolling around for a long while, Luther finally stopped. Still holding Joshua tightly, he said, "Let’s just sleep like this tonight."
"There’s a separate bed." Joshua could not help saying. He touched the soft mattress beneath him. It felt like this program was not all that strict after all.
Earlier, Joshua had thought they would be staying in some kind of cottage or hut, that they would at least be given a bit of a challenge.
But when Luther heard Joshua say that, he immediately whined, "The bed is big enough, Joshua. Don’t tell me the idea of sleeping with me scares you?"
Joshua answered without hesitation, "Yes."
The moment he finished speaking, his waist was scratched lightly. Joshua could not help curling up and kicked straight at Luther.
Unexpectedly, his ankle was grabbed instead. Luther laughed. "How many times have I told you not to be so violent?"
Joshua frowned. "Let go of me."
Luther smiled. "Beg me."
Joshua said, "... do you think you’re filming a drama?"
"Then can you be the female lead?" Luther suddenly turned strangely slick-tongued.
Joshua buried his head straight into the blanket, clearly not wanting to talk anymore.
Luther could not help laughing. "What’s wrong, Joshua, Joshua? Answer me, come on. Bunny, not biting people anymore, bunny..."
Joshua suddenly popped up and bit down on the hand that was constantly messing up his hair.
Luther burst out laughing. "You actually bit me, hahahaha."
Joshua shoved Luther’s hand away. He really, really wanted to change rooms.
Joshua was genuinely not as lively as usual today, probably because he was still feeling uncomfortable. Luther also knew when to stop. He rubbed Joshua’s face and said with a smile, "Sorry, sorry. Want to bite again? Go on, keep biting."
At that moment, the bedroom door suddenly opened. The people standing outside could not help shuddering a little when they heard Luther’s drawn-out tone.
Especially when they saw Joshua and Luther tangled together on the bed, their clothes not even changed yet.
It was not hard to imagine what kind of lingering, intimate scene had already formed in their minds.
Leonard roared, "You two haven’t even showered yet. We’re here to work, not to fall in love!"
Luther smiled with smug satisfaction. These people had better know their place, had better know who was number one in Joshua’s heart.
No one else but him!
