Chapter 360: Chapter 40: Reunion

Gu Qingqing and Han Junyun’s voices sounded simultaneously, drawing everyone’s attention to them, exposing their whereabouts instantly.

"Geng Geng, Nan Hua, Mu Chen." Si Lin looked at them, his usually cold face showing a rare hint of excitement.

"Senior Brother!" Gu Qingqing rushed over to Si Lin and hugged him tightly.

"Geng Geng!" Si Lin raised his hand, paused for a moment, and then gently patted Gu Qingqing’s head, speaking in a doting tone.

"Senior Brother, I missed you so much." Gu Qingqing nuzzled Si Lin’s palm, cooing.

"I missed you too." Si Lin was always indulgent to Gu Qingqing, his expression softening significantly.

"Senior Brother, long time no see."

Nan Hua, Jun Wu, and Mu Chen all stepped forward to greet Si Lin. Jun Wu appeared calm, but Nan Hua and Mu Chen showed signs of excitement.

Jun Wu’s gaze lingered on Gu Qingqing, watching her embrace Si Lin. Though mildly bothered, he restrained himself, understanding Gu Qingqing’s feelings towards Si Lin. He touched his nose and stood aside to let them catch up.

Gu Qingqing was still in Si Lin’s embrace. Si Lin merely nodded to Nan Hua and Mu Chen before turning back to comfort Gu Qingqing.

"Alright, Geng Geng, Senior Brother is here and will stay with you." Only Gu Qingqing could make Si Lin lower his defenses like this, his voice incredibly gentle, a stark contrast to his usual demeanor.

Nan Hua and the others were used to their Senior Brother’s double standards, but for those from the Haoran Sect and the Huang Family, it was utterly shocking.

Si Lin had always maintained an image of cold indifference, like a sword. Except for some emotional fluctuation with Yue Zhao, nothing else could evoke such an expression from him!

Gu Qingqing withdrew from Si Lin’s embrace, her eyes red, filled with dependency as she looked at him.

"Senior Brother, I searched for you all for so long, and I finally found you." She pulled at Si Lin’s sleeve, speaking.

"Yes, you’ve worked hard, Geng Geng. Your Second Senior Brother is also in Tianqi City. After I handle the matters here, I’ll take you back to find Yue Zhao. He’ll be glad to see you." Si Lin patted Gu Qingqing’s head, speaking softly.

"Is Second Senior Brother here too? That’s great!" Gu Qingqing was pleasantly surprised, even more delighted, and seeing Si Lin seemed to have matters to attend to, she quickly stepped aside, "Senior Brother, you go ahead and handle it first. After you’re done, we’ll go back together."

"Alright." Si Lin nodded and smiled reassuringly at Gu Qingqing. But when he turned to face the people of the Huang Family, his expression was icy, as if his previous gentleness was just a fleeting illusion. "Just now, you said to concede?"

Huang Wenqi shivered. Though he had never faced Si Lin in a duel, he had heard many stories about Si Lin and knew that even Lin Ye was completely outmatched by him. Even though his cultivation was higher than Han Junyun’s, he was still no match for Si Lin. As much as he wanted to turn and leave immediately, he represented the Huang Family. Leaving now would disgrace the Huang Family, and he likely would not fare well upon returning.

Thus, he had no choice but to nod and admit that he told Han Junyun to concede, as denial was impossible in front of those from the Haoran Sect, who witnessed everything.

"Very well, then let’s duel. If you win, the Illusion Moon Grass is yours, and I’ll concede along with them. If you lose, get lost and stay away from the Haoran Sect’s people." Si Lin didn’t originally plan this, but now he just wanted to quickly resolve the matter here and take Gu Qingqing back to their compound instead of wasting time on irrelevant people.

Huang Wenqi was reluctant to agree, but for the sake of the Huang Family’s reputation, he had to agree. 𝙛𝓻𝒆𝒆𝒘𝙚𝓫𝙣𝙤𝒗𝙚𝓵.𝙘𝙤𝙢

Eager to seize the advantage, Huang Wenqi nodded and swung his Meteor Hammer at Si Lin. A cold gleam flashed in Si Lin’s eyes; he did not dodge but instead headed straight towards Huang Wenqi.

The Dragon Capturing Sword appeared in his hand, the blade emitted a dragon’s roar, and a golden dragon-shaped phantom coiled around it. Si Lin walked toward Huang Wenqi step by step.

As Huang Wenqi swung his Meteor Hammer down, Si Lin raised his sword without any extra movements, slashing directly. The powerful Sword Qi surged towards Huang Wenqi unrelentingly. The ground beneath the sword tip cracked open, dust and gravel flying into the air.

Huang Wenqi hurriedly halted his attack, raising his Meteor Hammer to try to block Si Lin’s Sword Qi. However, given the gap in their cultivation levels and Si Lin’s use of seventy percent strength in this slash, he was sent flying by the Sword Qi, vomiting blood three to four times mid-air, his body eventually crashing over ten meters away in a more pathetic state than Han Junyun before.

"Do you wish to continue?" When everything settled, Si Lin’s sword was pointed at Huang Wenqi’s neck, he asked calmly.

Huang Wenqi felt a chill at his neck, the silver sword tip seemingly poised to cut his throat at any moment. His mind went blank; thoughts of the Huang Family’s reputation vanished, leaving only a single urge—to beg for mercy. Hearing Si Lin’s words, a flash of fear crossed his eyes, and he quickly spoke.

"No more, no more, I’ve lost. I’ll leave immediately!" His gaze fixed on the sword tip, fearing Si Lin’s slightest mishap would slash his throat.

"Leave!" Si Lin snorted coldly, pulling the Dragon Capturing Sword back slightly.

Huang Wenqi immediately sighed in relief and dared not meet Si Lin’s gaze, scrambling away on hands and knees.

"Aren’t you leaving yet?" Si Lin looked at the Huang Family members still standing there and coldly asked.

Those from the Huang Family finally seemed to awaken from a dream, glanced at Si Lin in fear, and then left in disarray.

"Thank you for your help, Mr. Si." Han Junyun stood up from the ground, clutching his chest, looking at Si Lin with admiration in his eyes.

Ever since Si Lin and Yue Zhao joined the Haoran Sect, Si Lin frequently led the sect’s disciples into Tianqi Forest. Although his cultivation wasn’t exceptionally high, he was invincible at his level and could fight beyond his rank. In the hearts of disciples like Han Junyun in Haoran Sect, Si Lin was an object of their admiration. Now, having been saved by Si Lin and witnessing his exceptional skills with those two sword strikes, Han Junyun became a complete fan of Si Lin. At this point, even if Si Lin claimed the sun rises from the west, Han Junyun would believe it.

"Pick the Illusion Moon Grass and go back to rest." Si Lin glanced at Han Junyun and said lightly.

"Yes." Han Junyun responded, quickly called others to pick the Illusion Moon Grass, and then left with the people he brought along.

Once they all left, the clearing became much quieter, and Si Lin walked up to Gu Qingqing.

"Geng Geng, let’s go, I’ll take you to find Yue Zhao." He slightly lowered his head and said to Gu Qingqing with a gentle voice.

"Okay." Gu Qingqing nodded with a smile, clearly very happy.

The four of them, familiar with Si Lin, chatted about their recent happenings while walking. Lou Mingyu, not very familiar with Si Lin, could roughly guess his identity from their conversation and didn’t say much.

After returning to Tianqi City, Lou Mingyu excused himself to rest, not following Gu Qingqing and the others, while Si Lin took Gu Qingqing and her friends to the house he had bought with Yue Zhao.

Si Lin hadn’t been out for long, only about half an hour, and Yue Zhao was still sitting at the table, playing chess by himself.

Hearing footsteps, without raising his head, he said, "Back so soon? Is everything resolved?"

However, no one responded. Sensing something amiss, he looked up and saw Gu Qingqing at the front, startling him so much he stood up from his chair, even knocking over the chess pieces.

"Geng Geng." He called out softly to Gu Qingqing, his expression cautious.

"Second Brother, I missed you." Just like earlier, when she rushed into Si Lin’s arms, Gu Qingqing quickly moved forward and threw herself into Yue Zhao’s embrace.

Yue Zhao caught her, gently patting her back, his smile more genuine.

"I missed you too, Geng Geng." He said softly.

"Second Brother, long time no see." Nan Hua and Mu Chen, feeling much better emotionally than before, greeted Yue Zhao excitedly.

"Second Brother." Jun Wu, at the back, also greeted Yue Zhao.

Seeing Gu Qingqing still hugging Yue Zhao, Jun Wu felt helpless. Although he wanted to pull Gu Qingqing away, he held back.

"Alright, now that we’re reunited, let’s not part again. Geng Geng, you should stop clinging to Yue Zhao." Jun Wu didn’t speak, but Si Lin did, having noticed Gu Qingqing’s slightly red-rimmed eyes, worried she might end up crying upon seeing Yue Zhao.

"That’s right, Geng Geng, we’ve all reunited now. Your brothers won’t leave you anymore, be good." Compared to Si Lin, Yue Zhao was more adept at comforting Gu Qingqing, patting her head with a gentle, doting tone.

Realizing this as well, Gu Qingqing withdrew from Yue Zhao’s embrace. Si Lin saw her red-rimmed eyes but noted she wasn’t crying and felt relieved.

"Geng Geng, you’re grown up now and still acting spoiled, aren’t you embarrassed?" Yue Zhao teased, tapping Gu Qingqing’s nose.

"Humph, no matter how grown up I am, I’m not as big as my brothers, so why can’t I be spoiled?" Gu Qingqing realized her behavior was somewhat over the top but wouldn’t admit it, huffing and turning her head away.

"Alright, alright, Geng Geng isn’t as big as your brothers, you can be spoiled anytime. So, do you want to act cute now?" Yue Zhao humored her along with her words, then asked.

Feeling mocked, Gu Qingqing glared at Yue Zhao, turned her head, and ignored him.

"Is Geng Geng angry? Second Brother knows he’s wrong, don’t be angry." Yue Zhao tugged at Gu Qingqing’s sleeve, sounding very pitiful.

Turning her head, seeing Yue Zhao looking pitifully at her, Gu Qingqing couldn’t stay mad, immediately breaking into laughter.
