My Five Bigshot Seniors: I am The Most Coddled Junior!-Chapter 359 - 39: Eldest Senior Brother [Second Update]
Today, Si Lin didn’t head to Tianqi Forest to battle with spirit beasts. Instead, he stayed in Tianqi City to play chess with Yue Zhao.
Although they ascended to the Immortal Realm at different times, they coincidentally arrived in the same city.
When they first ascended, their strength was weak, and the things they relied on before were of little use in the Immortal Realm.
However, Si Lin’s Artifact Refining Technique was quite handy. The weapons and protective accessories he crafted were still welcomed in the Immortal Realm. Selling them garnered a fair number of celestial coins.
The two of them purchased a courtyard and settled down, training to enhance their strength while also trying to gather information about Gu Qingqing and the others.
Unfortunately, this wasn’t the Sub-immortal Realm. The talismans drawn by Rong Ye before lost their effectiveness. After inquiring for a long time, they still couldn’t find any information about them.
However, they didn’t give up. They decided to establish themselves in the Immortal Realm, which would make it easier to locate Gu Qingqing and the others.
During the time the Langya Immortal Sect recruited disciples, they never reached Tianqi City, so naturally, they couldn’t join the Langya Immortal Sect. The other three Immortal Sects weren’t recruiting at this time either, so they had to find other ways.
Thankfully, the chaotic forces in Tianqi City gave them an opportunity.
They managed to join a large force in Tianqi City, the Haoran Sect, and over several months, they gradually became significant figures within the sect, all the while developing their own influence.
Si Lin was formidable in combat, while Yue Zhao excelled in strategy. Together, everything proceeded smoothly.
During this period, Si Lin’s cultivation had broken through to the True Immortal Realm, and Yue Zhao had reached the Peak of the Heavenly Immortal Realm, just a step away from entering the True Immortal Realm!
For this reason, Si Lin wanted to take a day’s rest.
"Has Lin Ye been targeting you these past two days?" Si Lin asked, placing a black piece and glancing at Yue Zhao. 𝑓𝑟𝑒𝘦𝓌𝑒𝑏𝑛𝑜𝘷𝑒𝘭.𝒸𝘰𝑚
"He’s been busy lately." Yue Zhao placed a white piece, took a sip of tea, and with a meaningful look, replied.
"That’s good. That guy is like a mad dog. It’s annoying to have him on your mind." Thinking of Lin Ye, Si Lin frowned, with a trace of disgust in his eyes.
"Didn’t he avoid you after you last beat him up? Don’t worry, I can handle him. I’ll ensure he doesn’t have the energy to bother about me." Yue Zhao’s eyes flashed with brilliance as he spoke calmly.
Currently, both of them are mid-tier members of the Haoran Sect. Lin Ye, whom they mentioned, was just like them but had been in the sect longer. He was unhappy with their rapid rise and wanted to cause trouble for them. The first time he tried to trouble Si Lin, he was thoroughly beaten. Although his cultivation was slightly higher than Si Lin’s, he was no match for Si Lin and was beaten soundly. Since then, he dared not trouble Si Lin.
Yue Zhao, lacking strong combat skills and appearing gentle, had a good relationship with Si Lin. Unable to best Si Lin, Lin Ye shifted his attention to Yue Zhao, creating trouble several times, only to be subtly deflected by Yue Zhao. Yue Zhao found him brainless and bothersome and didn’t want to waste time dealing with him. He directly suggested to the higher-ups to send him out, finally getting some peace.
To them, Lin Ye was insignificant. If he didn’t initiate trouble, they wouldn’t even spare him a glance!
"Recently, the Huang family has been clashing with us. They often snatch our prey in Tianqi Forest. It seems the Huang family has new plans." Si Lin frowned, thinking about the events in the forest.
"The Huang family is restless. Trying to snatch things from under the Haoran Sect’s nose; our Sect Master isn’t someone to be trifled with!" Yue Zhao remarked, placing a white piece and smiling faintly.
"As long as you know. It might be a good chance to maneuver." Si Lin nodded, agreeing with Yue Zhao’s assessment of the Haoran Sect’s Sect Master, and said further.
"Yes, I will be cautious. You should also ensure your safety so that when we see Geng Geng, she won’t know you’ve been injured. She wouldn’t forgive you otherwise." Yue Zhao also reminded Si Lin.
"She’s just a worrier. I’ll be careful," Si Lin said indulgently, his lips curling slightly at the mention of Gu Qingqing.
Seeing Si Lin’s expression, Yue Zhao also smiled; as they talked about Gu Qingqing, the atmosphere between them was harmonious.
Just as they were about to decide the game’s victor, a figure hurriedly entered from outside, catching their attention.
"Mr. Si, Young Master Yue, trouble! People from our sect and the Huang family have started fighting in Tianqi Forest." The newcomer, upon seeing Si Lin and Yue Zhao, exclaimed, hastening as he walked.
Si Lin and Yue Zhao exchanged a look, both frowning.
"What’s going on?" Yue Zhao asked in a deep voice, "Zhang Yang, calm down and explain. How did the fight begin?"
"Young Master Yue, you know some of our disciples recently reached the Peak of the Earth Immortal Realm. Today, they agreed to enter Tianqi Forest together and discovered Illusion Moon Grass. As they were about to pick it, they encountered members of the Huang family, and a fight broke out. They’re still fighting now," Zhang Yang quickly explained, catching his breath.
Upon hearing this, Si Lin put down the chess piece in his hand and stood up, "Today’s game ends here, we’ll continue another day, I’ll be leaving now."
"Go ahead, be careful," Yue Zhao nodded and reminded him with concern.
Si Lin nodded slightly, then looked at Zhang Yang, signaling him to lead the way.
...
The Tianqi Forest is quite vast, with numerous spirit beasts inside. Most of the beasts on the outskirts are below the Heavenly Immortal Realm. Gu Qingqing and her group fought with any spirit beast they encountered as they made their way inward. Before entering, Lou Mingyu had agreed not to intervene, so only the four of them took action.
However, the spirit beasts on the outskirts posed little challenge to Gu Qingqing and her group. They soon reached a more central area.
The spirit beasts here had higher cultivation levels than those on the outskirts, but Gu Qingqing and her group could still handle them. Just as they were discussing whether to venture further in, they suddenly heard the sounds of fighting and shouting not far away.
"What’s that sound?" Gu Qingqing looked in the direction of the noise and asked.
"It seems like there’s a fight happening?" Nan Hua listened intently for a moment and replied.
"A fight in the forest?" Gu Qingqing was a bit surprised, "Could it be they’ve discovered some treasure?"
The group exchanged glances and decided to go have a look.
The fighting was happening not far from Gu Qingqing and her group. They proceeded a bit closer, hiding themselves as they observed the clearing ahead.
There were a dozen or so people engaged in combat. It was apparent these two groups belonged to different factions, one with eight people, and the other with seven. The larger group had the upper hand.
"Huang Wenqi, this Illusion Moon Grass was discovered by our Haoran Sect first. Your Huang Family members coming in and interfering is over the line!" shouted one of the men, his face filled with wrath.
"Nonsense, these herbs belong to no one. Whoever grabs them first, they belong to. You claim you were here first, but who saw that?" retorted a man named Huang Wenqi, his tone carrying a rogue’s attitude.
"You!" The man’s expression turned even angrier, shocked by the audacity of the other party.
Here in Tianqi Forest, if anyone else had been present, they would have already picked the Illusion Moon Grass long ago. There’s no way it would have been left for them to discover! Let alone provide evidence. It’s simply outrageous!
"Alright, you can’t beat us. Better admit defeat and leave early. This Illusion Moon Grass belongs to us." Huang Wenqi, seeing his opponent silenced, said smugly.
"Impossible, we must obtain the Illusion Moon Grass," the man who spoke first rolled his eyes and said fiercely.
He was the highest cultivator among the Haoran Sect members, at the mid-level Heavenly Immortal Realm. His weapon was a treasure sword. After speaking, he twirled his sword artfully, dodged the people beside Huang Ji, and directly charged at Huang Wenqi.
Huang Wenqi’s cultivation was slightly higher, at the high-level Heavenly Immortal Realm. Seeing the man rushing over, a cold gleam flashed in his eyes, he snorted coldly and used his Meteor Hammer to deflect the attack, then swung the hammer with his other hand towards the man, smashing it onto his back. The man’s body dropped a bit as he spewed blood, taking several steps forward before collapsing on the ground.
"How about now, Han Junyun? Do you concede?" Huang Wenqi pressed Han Junyun with the Meteor Hammer, looking down at him pridefully.
Han Junyun gritted his teeth, his face showing extreme displeasure towards Huang Wenqi, yet he refused to admit defeat.
"If you refuse to concede, your followers will also get hurt. Not everyone will be as lenient as me. If they suffer irreversible damage, you can’t blame us!" Huang Wenqi said with a smirk, looking at Han Junyun.
"You!" Han Junyun glared at Huang Wenqi, "Don’t push it too far!"
"Hmph, you better admit defeat quickly, or don’t blame me for being impolite!" Huang Wenqi, seeing Han Junyun’s stubbornness, also grew impatient and moved the Meteor Hammer closer to his face, threateningly.
"I..." Looking at the Meteor Hammer so close to his face, and then at the Haoran Sect disciples who had fallen into a disadvantage without him, a dim light flickered in Han Junyun’s eyes. Just as he was about to admit defeat, a sudden flash of sword light interrupted him.
Huang Wenqi caught a glimpse of a stripe of white Sword Qi flying towards him, quickly dodging. The Sword Qi grazed past his cheek, landing on a distant tree, bringing it crashing down. His cheek was scratched and felt a burning sensation.
"Mr. Si!"
"Senior Brother!"
