My Evil Crown Prince-Chapter 85: Let Them Grow
Peggy curved her lips. "I can’t answer that. I believe what he told me. Besides, Caden decided on it. He didn’t even ask me or his father."
Alora crossed her legs and put the teacup on the table.
"I always wondered how your fake father became the ultimate master of all those notorious clans. His madness was way too cruel. And he’s too old for this. He already tried to destroy the royal family a few times, but it always end up the same. He always lost. But never stops." Alora commented.
"He’s the kind of person who would never accept defeat. This is his game. He started it so he would be the one to end it." Peggy answered.
Alora let out a hollow laugh. She gave Peggy a long dead stare.
"Your son would be the end of him."
Peggy frowned. "What do you mean? He didn’t even know Benjamin’s location."
"I just know."
"Is that the reason you still allow Alira to be his fiance even though you found out he’s the Boss of the Forelli Clan?" Peggy asked.
Alora took another sip of her tea. "Alira is both obedient and stubborn. She would follow the rules if it’s necessary. But she would not listen to anyone if she knows something was wrong. Even if we cancel the wedding, do you think she would let it happen? And I’m sure Caden would not agree with it."
Peggy chuckled. "You are like her."
Alora shook her head. "She’s stronger. I am strong because of my alters. They became my shield. But Alira doesn’t need that."
Peggy smiled and nodded in agreement. "You’re right. She wouldn’t be able to wait patiently for twelve years if she wasn’t. And what do you think about Caden?"
"Caden is like your father, Matthew Forelli, tough and aggressive. He knows how to handle people. But he’s also like your mother, Princess Catherine, compassionate and caring. He would do everything for his family. I’m sure he’ll protect Alira." Alora answered.
"Do you really think they could do this? In two months, they’ll move to Flousia. Alira will start her princess lessons. Will she be alright?"
"I trust her. She’ll be a great Queen."
Peggy sighed. She wasn’t doubting Alira. She was worried. She looked at Alora, who was calmly drinking her tea.
"You never told me about the memory serum." She said. 𝓯𝓻𝒆𝙚𝒘𝓮𝙗𝓷𝒐𝓿𝙚𝒍.𝙘𝓸𝙢
Alora froze, and she had a dangerous glint in her eyes when she looked at her.
"I didn’t tell you because he’s your father until the day he admitted he’s not. However, I could still see in your eyes that you love him. He was your father for sixteen years. And I know how you crave attention from him. I asked Luke, Percy and Sophie to keep it a secret. If I hurt your feelings, I’m sorry."
Peggy shook her head. "Don’t apologize. If I found out earlier, I wouldn’t be able to look you in the eyes. What he did to you was unforgivable! You and your family suffered because of him. On behalf of him, I’m sorry."
"That was a long time ago. Let’s not go back to the past, Peggy. And it wasn’t your fault. Do you still hope that he would change and look at you as his real daughter?" Alora asked.
Peggy took a deep breath. "I don’t know. She kept my mother for decades and made me believe she was dead. He killed Mireya. He tortured Jayden. He kidnapped Caden and almost killed him. My heart was full of rage toward him."
"But?" Alora looked at her with prudent evaluation.
"But I wanted to see him so badly and talk to him. Ask him to stop. That I can forgive him if he just admit everything and quietly surrenders."
Alora nodded. It’s not a bad idea. Not impossible, but it’s hard to achieve. Blood had been spilled and grudges had filled our hearts"
"I know. But there was something in my mind telling me I should try."
"Will Caden allow you to do that? Your son had one goal in mind. Destroy your fake father. Meaning he will kill him." Alora said in a cold tone.
Peggy didn’t answer. Alora was right. Caden would not let Benjamin live. She wanted to stop him, but Jayden told her to let him be.
They let their kids live together at Queens like what they did when they were in high school. They wanted them to get close and be friends that could trust each other. They knew the day would come that Benjamin would target their kids, but they didn’t expect it to happen so early.
"Let’s watch the kids do what they can. Let them grow. If they need help, they’ll ask us. If not, then we could help them in secret." Alora said when she didn’t answer her question.
Peggy looked at the glittering lights of the city below the Wilson Tower. She would quietly watch Caden, and at the same time, she would do everything to find her fake father.

"The prince is not here?" Samantha asked.
"He’s there. Why?"
"I just want to know what happened to Ace."
She was a bit surprised, but she expected it.
"My boyfriend is worried because he’s been absent for days now. I remember what the prince said at the restaurant. You know, the thing about preparing flowers for him."
She chuckled to lighten the mood. "He was kidding. He looked serious, I know. But that’s how he tells a joke. And don’t worry about Ace, he’s fine. They are friends now."
Samantha frowned. "Friends? What do you mean?"
She took her phone and showed Samantha a photo. It was a picture of Caden and Ace. Caden said Samantha and the others would definitely look for Ace. That she would be the first person they would ask.
"Whoa! What happened?" It was Lea.
She quickly changed the expression of her eyes and fixed it with worry.
"Caden made a background check on him and he found out about Ace’s family’s condition. His father lost his memories and couldn’t remember them. His mother is taking care of his father and younger brother while Ace works hard for them. He was frustrated with his life and I was the only one who helped him forget his problems. So Caden accepted his apology and offered to help him."
Although everything she said was not a lie, she had to act like she pity her stalker. She had to make sure that they believe her so they would not ask again about Ace.
"What kind of help? A job?" Cassy asked, curiosity piqued.
She nodded. "Yes. He accepted it because the pay would provide him and his family enough food on the table and medicines for his father. Caden also offered to pay for their school fees. He just has to deliver message to a lot of people."
"Like the royalties and wealthy people?" Lea exclaimed.
She chuckled. "Something like that. It’s temporary. So you don’t need to worry about him. He’s fine and breathing." She said with a wide smile on her face.
Samantha nodded. "I’ll tell that to his friends. It’s a great help for him. Thank the prince for me."
She smiled, but her heart was pounding because she basically deceived her friends. In her mind, she kept apologizing to them.
Today was the schedule of Ace’s meeting with Juliano. She couldn’t stop herself from worrying. If Ace failed and got caught, they’re done.
The teacher had been talking in front for almost an hour, but she couldn’t understand any of the words she said. Her mind drifted, and all she did was either bite her lip or her nails.
She felt someone tapped her shoulder, and she knew it was Caden. His warm breath brushed through her skin when he leaned forward to whisper on her ear.
"You look so tensed. Stop worrying and focus on the lesson." He said.
She let out a deep breath and pouted. "It’s easy for you to say."
He chuckled, then took some strands of her hair, kissing the end of it.
"If you don’t stop, I have a better idea. Would you like to find out?" He asked in a hoarse voice.
She gulped. "Are you really sure it will stop me from worrying?"
Caden leaned closer, and without a word, licked her earlobe. His action send shivers down her spine and she felt something warm between her legs.
"I’ll make it disappear." He said.
She froze, but she knew Caden stood up and walked out of the classroom. It was the end of their first period so they didn’t have to sneak out.
"Alira, where are you going?" Samantha asked.
"To Caden." She winked, leaving her friend with a grin on her face.
She first went to the music room, but he wasn’t there. Then she looked for him at her residence, still there was no sign of him. She was about to get mad at him when someone pulled her arm inside the science room.
