My College Teacher is My Children's Mom-Chapter 677: Wife Gets Jealous
At three-thirty in the afternoon, Lin Feng and his wife arrived at the amusement park. They calculated it was time to call Xiao Bao out.
"Let’s go and see what else is fun," Zhang Yuxi said.
Over the years, the couple hadn’t changed much in appearance, except that Zhang Yuxi now carried herself with much more sophistication. As for Lin Feng, he was dressed in a white T-shirt, black pants, and white sneakers, with sunglasses hanging from his collar and a hat on his head. Goodness, if you said he was the brother of the kids trailing behind them, people would definitely believe you!
Er Bao sized up her dad. "Dad, how do you still look so handsome after all these years? Tsk, tsk, tsk!"
Lin Feng gave Er Bao a mild look. "Are you making fun of me again?"
Er Bao wore an expression of utmost sincerity. "Come on, there’s a mirror right here. Let the mirror do the talking."
Lin Feng, who was over 1.8 meters tall, looked more like a brother than a father standing next to Er Bao. It was just that Er Bao seemed to possess a more youthful vitality. Standing together, the two of them really did look like they were only a few years apart in age.
Er Bao hooked her arm through her dad’s and leaned against him. "Look, look. Do we look like father and daughter?"
Lin Feng hummed in agreement. "This might just be the charm of being handsome."
It had been many years since Lin Feng had been so shameless; the moment the words left his mouth, everyone was startled.
Er Bao laughed and teased, "Dad, tone it down a bit."
Lin Feng smiled. "Come on, let’s see what we can buy for Xiao Bao!"
In the past, getting a long-desired toy on Children’s Day was the greatest joy. Now, they lacked for nothing, and even buying toys was a matter of careful selection.
When they entered a stationery store, Xiao Bao reluctantly followed them in to browse.
Lin Feng asked her, "Do you need any math notebooks?"
Xiao Bao shook her head. "The teacher will hand them out."
"Then what about this eraser?" Lin Feng inquired. "Hmm, looks like you already have one. Let me see what you don’t have."
Er Bao held an electric pencil sharpener in her hand, marveling, "Wow, they have these things now!"
San Bao glanced at her. "Those have been around for a while. We use them. There’s even one that works like a robotic vacuum, sucking up eraser dust and pencil shavings."
Er Bao let out another "wow" of amazement. "In that case, I have to buy one to play with."
The owner at the counter, who happened to overhear this, was left speechless...
In the end, the couple bought Xiao Bao a pencil case that she seemed to like a little more.
Lin Feng said, "This is your Children’s Day gift, huh."
Can I refuse? Xiao Bao’s expression seemed to say.
Her actions, however, told a different story. She quietly took it and said, "Thank you!"
Zhang Yuxi knew her daughter didn’t like it, but who cared? As long as they were happy, that was enough. They couldn’t always buy her toys and treats. She already bought that stuff for her every day; Xiao Bao wasn’t lacking for anything.
That evening, the family went out for dinner. And that’s when things got interesting. 𝐟𝕣𝗲𝕖𝕨𝗲𝐛𝗻𝗼𝐯𝗲𝚕.𝗰𝚘𝐦
Lin Feng got up to go to the restroom, which should have been a mundane event. But, completely unexpectedly, a young girl followed him. They had arrived rather late, so their table was close to the restrooms, giving them a clear view of everything that unfolded. They saw the girl wait off to the side for a while, phone in hand as she watched the restroom entrance. As soon as Lin Feng came out, she shyly ran over to ask him something.
You didn’t have to be a genius to know she was asking for his contact information. Er Bao watched with great interest. "Tsk, tsk, tsk, Dad sure is charming."
Er Bao, who loved a good spectacle, got carried away and forgot her mother was sitting right there. "Is that girl even my age? Ah, who can blame her? My dad just looks too young."
Seeing this, San Bao discreetly gestured for her to tone it down.
When Er Bao came back to her senses, she saw San Bao giving her a look that screamed, ’Have you lost your mind?’. He shot her a look, signaling with his eyes that their mom was right there and she should watch what she said.
Er Bao was drinking water when she saw her mom’s displeased face across the table. She choked, sputtering, and was suddenly at a loss for words.
It was clear that Lin Feng had rejected the girl; she left looking distraught, on the verge of tears.
When he returned to the table, he saw that—aside from the blissfully ignorant Xiao Bao, who was still eating—everyone else was conspicuously silent. Even Er Bao, usually the most talkative, was eating her food quietly, her expression wishing her dad the best of luck.
Lin Feng understood and decided to confess. "You saw?"
Zhang Yuxi hummed in affirmation. "I’m not blind!"
The air was thick with tension. Lin Feng chuckled awkwardly a few times before falling silent and returning to his meal.
The kids are so grown up, couldn’t you give me a little face, honey?
Give *you* face? How?
Young girls are practically throwing themselves at you. How am I supposed to give you face?
Don’t I need some face, too?
It’s not like I wanted this to happen. You can’t blame me for it.
Oh, so I shouldn’t blame you? I should blame myself?
Yes, yes, you’re right. It’s not your fault. Can we talk about this when we get home?
After more than twenty years of marriage, their rapport was still perfect; a single glance was all they needed to understand each other.
In the end, Zhang Yuxi snorted coldly, but her expression softened.
Lin Feng thought the matter was over, but after they got home and lay down in bed, Zhang Yuxi propped her head up with her hand and stared at him.
At first, Lin Feng didn’t think much of it, until Zhang Yuxi remarked with a sigh, "Honey, you’re still so handsome, no matter how I look at you. You haven’t changed a bit over all these years."
Lin Feng instantly sensed something was wrong, alarm bells blaring in his head. "Honey, you haven’t changed either. You’re still just as beautiful!"
Zhang Yuxi laughed softly. "How could that be? How could I possibly compare to you, right?"
She knew she was attractive and hadn’t changed much over the years, so she didn’t suffer from any anxiety about her appearance. But with Lin Feng being a stay-at-home husband for so many years, Zhang Yuxi had almost forgotten just how handsome and attractive he was. Seeing a young girl, one the same age as her own children, approach her husband today... at that moment, she had felt an inexplicable fear and sadness. Even if her looks hadn’t faded, she was still getting older. She was in her forties now. How could she compete with a young girl?
"Honey, I’m warning you," she said, her tone laced with jealousy. "You need to be careful when you’re out."
"Especially your heart. Don’t you dare let it waver, or I’ll get really angry!"
Lin Feng chuckled. "Yes, yes, of course. I’ll listen to whatever my dear wife says. I’ll do anything you ask."
Zhang Yuxi asked, "Honey, do you love me?"
Lin Feng said he did, but his answer didn’t seem to give her the security she was looking for. She pressed, "Do you *really* love me?"
Lin Feng’s answer was firm. "Of course, I do."
Zhang Yuxi frowned skeptically. "We’ve been together for over twenty years, and you still love me? That’s impossible. You must be tired of me by now."
Lin Feng, having learned his lesson, wisely turned the question back on her. "Well, after more than twenty years, do *you* still love *me*? Why?"
Zhang Yuxi knew what he was doing and sighed. "Go to sleep."
Lin Feng pressed on. "Not going to answer? What, you don’t love me anymore?"
Zhang Yuxi cradled his face in her hands. "I love you. I love you to death!"
Lin Feng retorted, "Why do you love me? It’s been over twenty years. Aren’t you tired of me? I don’t believe it."
Zhang Yuxi was both annoyed and amused. "Honey, are you trying to corner me with my own logic?"
Lin Feng shook his head, laughing along with her. "Not at all. you’re overthinking it."
The two of them chatted and laughed for a while longer before falling asleep.
