Chapter 673: Chapter 673: How Did You Find It?

The woman was furious. "Are you trying to rob me?"

Lin Feng sneered, holding up the doll to show the woman the barcode inside and the official website on his phone. "Take a look for yourself."

After scanning the code with her phone, the woman realized the doll was indeed expensive. The price started in the five-digit range, and some models were even more costly.

Immediately, her expression soured, and she started to play dumb. "How am I supposed to know if it’s real or fake?"

Lin Feng laughed, a sound devoid of humor. "The logo is right here, and you can verify it on the official website. Are you accusing me of using a fake?"

The woman was at a loss for words. "At most, I’ll pay you a thousand."

Lin Feng chuckled. "Are you trying to give me beggar’s alms? I’d only had this toy for two days before it was smashed in half. Never mind full price, you should at least pay eighty percent of the original cost, right?"

The woman said nothing.

The toy did indeed cost eighty thousand yuan. Er Bao had acquired it through a friend’s internal discount, so while it wasn’t quite that expensive, it was still far from cheap.

The teacher stepped forward to mediate, but the woman remained silent, unable to afford the compensation.

Lin Feng’s stance was clear. He was fine with an apology, but only after they compensated him for the toy. Everything else could be discussed afterward.

In the end, the woman and her child apologized. Xiao Bao also offered her own apology. "I’m sorry for knocking your tooth out, but if you bother me next time, I’ll hit you again."

Lin Feng chimed in from the side, "That’s right. If they provoke us again, keep hitting them!"

As a parent, he never wanted to see his child bullied. Lin Feng would rather Xiao Bao be the one doing the bullying than the one getting bullied. He lived by a simple principle: if no one offends me, I won’t offend anyone. But if someone offends me, I’ll finish them!

He taught his children the same thing: never back down from a provocation, because he would always be there to support them.

The mother, son, and teacher fell silent upon hearing the words of Lin Feng and Xiao Bao. The little boy was the first to speak.

He said viciously, "You hit me, so I’ll smash your doll to pieces!"

Xiao Bao, having been doted on by an entire family—or rather, an entire clan—wasn’t the least bit intimidated. She lifted her chin. "Go ahead! You think I’m scared of you? Just you dare break it, and see how I beat you up."

The little boy refused to back down, and Xiao Bao just snorted, her expression filled with contempt. You think you can fight me, little pipsqueak? You have no idea who you’re dealing with.

Her mind working quickly, Xiao Bao added, "Besides, next time I’ll just bring an even more expensive toy. When you break that one, you’ll have to pay for it."

Hearing this, the boy’s mother panicked. Her family couldn’t afford that. She quickly told her son to stop being impulsive and to talk things out. They were classmates and needed to get along peacefully.

With that, the incident was resolved. The little boy left school early to see a dentist, while Xiao Bao returned to her classroom.

There was still over an hour until school let out, so Lin Feng decided to wait outside. Several chess and card rooms had opened up near the school, mostly filled with elderly men and women who passed the time playing games while waiting to pick up their grandchildren. Lin Feng had learned his wife’s card-counting skills quite well, and with nothing else to do, he figured he might as well play a few rounds.

The elders played for small stakes, just fifty cents a game, and a single session could last all afternoon. At most, one might lose a little over ten yuan.

When Lin Feng entered, the players looked up and smiled. "Young man, here to play too?"

Lin Feng knew a bit about mahjong and cards. "Sure! How do you play?"

The elders’ rules were different from what younger people were used to. After learning them, Lin Feng joined them for a few games of mahjong. It was all just for fun. He lost five yuan before noticing the time. It was getting late, and the other players were also packing up to go pick up their kids.

"Young man, will you come play again?"

"Yeah, we enjoyed playing mahjong with you."

Lin Feng smiled. "I’ll see. If I have time, I’ll stop by for a bit."

They understood that young people had to prioritize work. They were unlike the elders, who were retired and spent their days looking after their families and managing daily chores. So, they didn’t press him further.

Lin Feng picked up Xiao Bao to go home. She was still holding the broken doll. "Dad, what do we do about this?"

The other parent had agreed to pay ten thousand yuan. Lin Feng took the doll and examined it. "Let’s ask your Second Sister. Maybe she’ll have an idea."

Xiao Bao pouted, her face a mask of unhappiness. "I really liked this doll... The clothes Second Sister made for it were so pretty! I hate him, and I’m never playing with him again!"

Lin Feng tried to calm his daughter down. "Your Second Sister hasn’t finished work yet. How about we head over to her office and pick her up?"

A smile finally broke through on Xiao Bao’s small face. "Okay! I haven’t been to my sisters’ office in such a long time."

When they arrived at the office building, Lin Feng went straight to Second Baby’s office. Now that the company was running smoothly, she mostly just had to make key decisions. Most of the time, Second Baby was quite free, spending her days working on plans or attending meetings.

Just before Lin Feng arrived, she was scrolling through Fourth Baby’s social media accounts, like VB. Although Fourth Baby hadn’t said who the girl he liked was, she could certainly investigate. And sure enough, she had found some clues. 𝓯𝓻𝒆𝙚𝒘𝓮𝙗𝓷𝒐𝓿𝙚𝒍.𝙘𝓸𝙢

Fourth Baby’s account was very active. He usually reposted motivational content and occasionally posted selfies. All in all, he was rather vain, but he had grown more handsome and charming over the years. With nothing better to do, Second Baby sifted through his likes and comments until she found an account called "GoForItLittleDream."

Hmm, the profile picture was a dog. Besides one photo showing a person from the back, the account was filled with pictures of scenery. It looked like the user was previously abroad but was now in China, with the location tagged as Jingcheng.

Although Second Baby didn’t know what the girl looked like, that was no problem. She could continue to follow the trail. And just like that, a new clue appeared: someone had posted a group photo that included a girl wearing a particular bracelet.

Based on the bracelet, Second Baby successfully identified her target. She gleefully took a screenshot and sent it to Fourth Baby. "Is this the girl you like?"

Fourth Baby’s response: "HOLY CRAP!!!!!!"

Judging by that reaction, she was right. Second Baby felt very pleased with herself. "Yo, this girl is quite pretty! Hmm, I did some digging, and it seems she’s your coaching assistant?"

Fourth Baby was speechless. "Second Sis, how did you find her? That’s incredible."

It wasn’t that Second Baby was incredible; it was that Fourth Baby didn’t understand girls. It reminded her of a story about a woman who suspected her boyfriend was cheating. She spent a whole night searching through tens of thousands of comments and found the one he’d left. Her boyfriend had replied to another woman’s post. By following that woman’s account, she discovered her boyfriend’s alternate account. And from that alternate account, she confirmed he had been cheating on her for a long time. Once a woman gets serious, she can be more formidable than Sherlock Holmes.

Among the quadruplets, Second Baby and Fourth Baby had the closest relationship. Their personalities had been similar since childhood, so they often played together, and Second Baby felt more comfortable confiding in the carefree Fourth Baby.

Third Baby and Second Baby both had a creative streak, so they had plenty to talk about. Trying to have the same conversation with First Baby, however, would just leave him confused and bored. To them, First Baby was the big boss! They only approached him to discuss major issues; any other topic was off the table.

Their eldest brother was incredibly busy. How busy? He once survived on two hours of sleep a night for a solid week. His work ethic was so intense that slackers like them couldn’t even hope to compare.

Second Baby was about to text Fourth Baby again when she stopped. "Gotta go, Dad and Xiao Bao are here."

Fourth Baby quickly replied, "Second Sis, don’t tell Mom and Dad, okay?"

Second Baby laughed. "Okay, I won’t. Your secret’s safe with me!"

After hanging up, she stood to greet them. "Dad, Xiao Bao, what brings you here? Hey, what’s with that expression, Xiao Bao? Who bullied our little cutie? Come, let your sister see."

When Second Baby saw the broken doll in Xiao Bao’s hands, her brow furrowed. "Who did this?"

Xiao Bao sadly told her the whole story. Second Baby listened with a sympathetic heart. "There, there. Come on, Second Sister will fix it for you!"

With that, she scooped up Xiao Bao and walked off, leaving Lin Feng standing there alone.

What’s with this? Is her father invisible? This is too much!
