My College Teacher is My Children's Mom-Chapter 656 Group 5 Parents
Just think: Yu Zheng’s family had one older brother, Lin Jiajun’s family had two, Lin Rui’s family had two, and Lin Jie had one younger brother. Combined with the two older brothers in her own family, that added up to seven older brothers and one younger brother. As the only girl of her generation in the extended family, she was the apple of everyone’s eye.
Now in the first grade, she was always doted on by her older brothers and cousins like a little princess. Therefore, whenever she was with Lin Feng and Zhang Yuxi, they made a point not to spoil Xiao Bao too much.
Because Lin Feng was a VIP member, he could use the VIP lounge. It was quiet there, and seeing that it was still early before check-in, Lin Feng held Xiao Bao and let her take a nap. Xiao Bao yawned, snuggled into Lin Feng’s arms, and fell into a deep sleep.
After arriving at their destination, they drove to a small village where the other fathers and children had already gathered. Lin Feng’s group was the last to arrive.
Xiao Bao occasionally visited the countryside with Zhou Cuilan and always found it fun, so she immediately started running ahead to play. "Slow down, don’t fall!" Lin Feng called out from behind her.
Lin Feng followed, carrying a backpack and wheeling two suitcases. By the time he reached the village square, Xiao Bao had already started mingling with the others. "Daddy, where’s my suitcase?" she asked.
Lin Feng opened the case, and Xiao Bao took out the gifts she had prepared: four identical, cute dolls, which the other children all loved.
A total of five father-child pairs were participating in the show this season.
The first pair was a retired champion athlete and his son, Li Kaixin. He was a handsome little boy, also a first-grader and the same age as Xiao Bao. Tall and sturdy, he looked full of vigor, practically brimming with strength.
The second pair featured a father from outside the entertainment industry whose wife was an actress. Their little princess was named Xing Yun. At six years old, she was a year younger than Xiao Bao and had adorably cute, curly hair. She was invited to the show due to her high popularity.
The third father was a very famous actor with many well-known works to his name. Like Lin Feng, he had also had a child later in life. His son, a five-year-old boy named Xi Mi, was the spitting image of his father.
The fourth father was an up-and-coming director. Though average-looking himself, he had an exceptionally cute little princess named Jiao Jiao, who was the same age as Xiao Bao and also in the first grade.
The fifth father was a low-profile, handsome, and dashing super-billionaire who had five outstanding children in total. The child participating this time was his daughter, Xiao Bao, seven years old and in the first grade. Needless to say, this was Lin Feng’s group.
Xiao Bao had prepared gifts, and the other little darlings had also come prepared. The audience, however, could clearly see that apart from Xiao Bao, all the other children had to be reminded by their parents to give their gifts out.
Just then, the host stepped forward, smiling. "Now that everyone is here, our trip can officially begin!"
The first season had traveled all across the country, and each filming location had subsequently become a popular tourist spot, which indirectly boosted local development. As a result, the second season received a much larger budget for promotion and planning.
The host chuckled. "Our first order of business is accommodation. We have five houses set up here, some good and some bad. Which one you get all depends on the luck of our little darlings." He held up a box. "Now, who wants to be the first to draw?"
Seven-year-old Jiao Jiao stepped forward immediately. "I’ll go first!"
Her mother had raised her well; she was skilled in music, chess, calligraphy, and painting, but her greatest talent was dancing. It was often said that dancing enhanced a young girl’s temperament. True to her name, which meant ’delicate,’ Jiao Jiao was cute and pretty, and her every move carried a certain graceful air.
She drew House Number Two. The show then displayed a photo of the house, which looked rather plain.
Jiao Jiao had gone first, and if they were to go in order of age, Xiao Bao would be next. Instead, Xiao Bao turned to Xi Mi and said, "You go, little brother."
At only five years old, Xi Mi was the youngest child there. He was very fond of Xiao Bao, as they had been playing together just moments before. He took her hand and said, "Let’s draw together."
Xi Mi drew House Number Three, which was in decent condition. That left Xiao Bao with the last lot, Number Five: a thatched hut constructed by the production crew!
At that moment, Xiao Bao was still blissfully ignorant. The show’s camera zoomed in on her innocent face as a mischievous subtitle appeared on screen. *Xiao Bao has no idea what she’s about to face...*
The luxury villa had been drawn by Li Kaixin, the seven-year-old son of the retired athlete. The second-best house had gone to Xing Yun, the daughter of the actress and the non-celebrity father.
The host laughed. "Alright, with the houses assigned, let’s all go find them! There will be new tasks waiting for you inside. Good luck, dads and kids!"
In the first season, the children had all been four to five years old, meaning most tasks had to be completed by the adults. This reduced the appeal of the show, which was meant to be a program about cute kids and their parents. For the second season, the production team deliberately chose six and seven-year-olds who had a certain level of independence and practical skill. This was calculated to create better content for the show.
Xi Mi held Xiao Bao’s hand as they began to search for their houses, and their fathers struck up a conversation while following behind.
Lin Feng had done his homework before coming on the show and was very familiar with Xi Mi’s father, a renowned actor. "I’ve seen your work," Lin Feng began. "I really enjoy it. Your acting is superb."
Xi Mi’s father smiled slightly. "I’ve heard about you, too. You’re even more handsome in person than in the photos."
Lin Feng replied modestly and steered the conversation back to the actor’s films. From their chat, it was obvious that Lin Feng truly was a fan and had seen his work.
Xi Mi’s father was also in his forties and had once been the celebrity "husband" for countless young women—many of whom were still his fans today. Then one day, out of the blue, the actor, who rarely used social media, suddenly posted an update. He announced that he had become a father, only mentioning that the child’s mother was not in the entertainment industry. The news was so sudden that it had crashed Weibo.
Since both were fathers in their middle age and of similar ages, they found they had much in common and hit it off immediately. When they arrived at a fork in the path, they parted ways.
Xiao Bao was extremely excited to see her house and chattered nonstop along the way. As they walked on, they came upon something that looked like a large haystack. It was clearly man-made and looked so out of place that it immediately caught Lin Feng’s eye. A sign hanging on it was boldly marked with the number five.
Lin Feng was completely astonished. Uh... this?
Meanwhile, Xiao Bao continued walking right past it. Lin Feng called out, "Xiao Bao, stop walking. We found the house."
The innocent and adorable Xiao Bao looked around curiously, asking excitedly, "Where is it, Daddy? Where?"
At that moment, the program’s subtitles grew especially mischievous. *The house waved at them: I’m over here! I’m over here!*
But Xiao Bao, completely oblivious, would never in her wildest dreams believe that the haystack in front of her was their house.
Lin Feng took her hand and led her to the thatched hut.
Xiao Bao’s excited smile gradually froze on her face. The show’s post-production team even added a split screen comparing her earlier anticipation with her current shock, complete with a "bolt from the blue" sound effect.
"Come on," Lin Feng said, "let’s go inside and take a look!"
After the initial shock, Xiao Bao quickly accepted her fate and even started to think it was fun. The thatched hut was furnished with a table and a bed... and that was all.
