My College Teacher is My Children's Mom-Chapter 638: Age for Changing Teeth
Because of Second Treasure’s revelation, the netizens now all knew that Little Treasure was a poor student. The kind who tried very hard, but was still a bit of an underachiever.
Many netizens sighed that the world was, after all, fair. If you gained something, you were bound to lose something else...
Looking at the messy handwriting on the test paper, accompanied by Lin Feng’s magnetic voice, the netizens all laughed.
"The questions these days really aren’t rigorous. My son often asks these kinds of questions..."
"There’s nothing wrong with a child’s way of thinking. Learning by analogy is a great skill. She’s not wrong; the people who write the questions are just too old-fashioned."
"This is a multiple-choice question. It all depends on how you interpret it."
"Just like my kid! The test paper is identical!"
"Some teachers are really rigid in their methods. They can’t think outside the box, but the kid actually has a point!"
"Little Treasure is awesome!"
"Mmm, when I was in first grade, I couldn’t make analogies at all. Kids these days are so smart."
"I can hear Father-in-law’s deep sense of defeat! He’s never had to worry about education before, but this time, he’s met his match!"
"Hahaha, why do I feel like laughing so much?"
「The next day」
Originally, Little Treasure had no scenes scheduled. However, the location rental contract was about to expire, so they had to hurry the shoot. The other party had agreed to the terms Lin Feng negotiated, so naturally, Lin Feng had to abide by their requests. After getting ready, he carried his daughter to the film set.
While she was in the makeup chair, Lin Feng stood to the side, fanning her. Little Treasure sat obediently with her eyes closed for the makeup artist, occasionally reciting her lines under her breath.
The makeup artist praised her, "Little one, you’re working so hard!"
Next up was a scene where Eugene, now displaced and wandering, encounters the Calvians. They capture Eugene, planning to sell her to Lord Kabola—a cruel, two-hundred-pound brute.
Today’s shoot would cover Eugene’s capture and subsequent escape. If filming went smoothly, it would be done in two days. If not, it could take a week.
Furthermore, to heighten the realism, the production team only gave Little Treasure her script for the kidnapping scene but didn’t explain what would actually happen during the shoot. They had even hired a psychologist to provide counseling for Little Treasure afterward.
What they didn’t know was that Little Treasure and Lin Feng had both thoroughly read the book "War of the Planets." Combining that knowledge with her lines, they had already guessed what would be filmed today. Before they arrived, Lin Feng had prepared Little Treasure for it.
A short while later, a dirty little beggar appeared. Lin Feng quickly snapped a picture of his daughter.
Little Treasure gasped and turned to compliment the makeup artist, "Wow, your work is amazing!"
The makeup artist laughed heartily. "Thank you for the compliment!" 𝘧𝓇𝑒𝑒𝑤ℯ𝑏𝓃𝘰𝑣ℯ𝘭.𝘤ℴ𝘮
After the director gave blocking instructions, the official shoot began.
Following the director’s directions, Little Treasure was eating with her head down when a sudden, harsh shout rang out. She froze, looking up to see a group of men with ferocious expressions brandishing weapons as they charged toward her.
Little Treasure’s eyes widened. The director didn’t arrange this, did he?
A normal reaction would have been to stop and ask the director what was going on. But Little Treasure’s immediate response was to leap to her feet and run.
Following the director’s blocking, she ran while nibbling on the bun she had picked up, a look of panic spreading across her face. The men behind her were in hot pursuit. Midway through the chase, Little Treasure stumbled and fell. She cast a hurried glance behind her, then scrambled back up and kept running.
Tears welled in her eyes, but she clutched the bun tightly and ran on stubbornly.
One of the men in the group raised a net-throwing weapon. WHOOSH! Little Treasure did a sliding tackle, diving straight into a nearby hole.
On set this time, Lin Feng finally saw the famous Director Ka. When filming began, Lin Feng had watched Little Treasure nervously. Only when the director called "Cut!" after the scene ended did he realize that Director Ka had appeared on set at some point. This scene was originally supposed to be shot in separate takes for editing, but they had unexpectedly filmed it all in one long shot.
Little Treasure, adhering to her duties as an actress, remained in the hole, not coming out because the director hadn’t called for a stop.
Hearing the call of "Cut!" she finally ran out of the hole.
Lin Feng was the first to rush over, pulling Little Treasure into his arms with a worried expression. Although they had anticipated a kidnapping scene today, they hadn’t expected the production team to spring it on her without any warning. He worried the experience might leave a negative psychological impact on Little Treasure.
Little Treasure looked pale. "Daddy, I need water... quick, quick..."
Seeing how unwell she looked, everyone else crowded around in concern. Lin Feng pulled a water bottle from his bag.
Little Treasure took several large gulps, then patted her chest. "Ah, it finally went down."
Lin Feng’s brow was deeply furrowed with worry. "What’s wrong? Were you scared?"
Little Treasure sighed and started to complain. "That bun was so hard. I hadn’t even swallowed my bite when ’they’ came..."
As she spoke, she felt a lingering discomfort in her throat and quickly took a few more sips of water.
Choking must have been awful, yet a seven-year-old child had managed to continue acting. This level of professionalism made many people see Little Treasure in a new light.
Director Ka came over, his usually stern face softening. "Were you frightened just now?"
Little Treasure showed no panic, even though she was speaking with the famous Director Ka. She shook her head. "A little bit, but I’m not scared now!"
Director Ka’s expression relaxed slightly as he praised her. "You performed extremely well."
Little Treasure hadn’t quite learned to be modest yet. She grinned, looking a little proud. "Thank you for the compliment."
She thought she was pretty awesome, too! That dry bun had nearly choked her to death, but she had still persevered and finished her work!
Director Ka introduced the psychologist standing nearby to Lin Feng. "You should take Little Treasure to see him." When he spoke of Little Treasure, the director’s expression couldn’t help but soften.
In a small room off the makeup area, Lin Feng sat with Little Treasure, who was happily eating watermelon while she had her psychological consultation. Little Treasure seemed perfectly fine, her only complaint being that the bun was too dry and hard for her to bite.
"I feel like my teeth are all loose!" Little Treasure pouted unhappily.
Both Lin Feng and the psychologist breathed a sigh of relief.
The psychologist left his business card. "Call me if you need anything." After saying goodbye to Little Treasure, he left.
Lin Feng picked up his daughter. "Next time something unexpected happens, don’t just try to tough it out, okay? It really worries Daddy!"
"I won’t!" Little Treasure nodded obediently.
She touched her front teeth, and suddenly, her expression changed drastically. "WAAAH!" she wailed, bursting into tears.
Lin Feng was startled. "What is it? What’s wrong?"
Little Treasure threw herself into her father’s arms. "Daddy, what do I do? My tooth is broken..."
Lin Feng told his daughter to open her mouth so he could take a look. The front tooth looked fine on the outside, but when he gently touched it, it was loose.
He did a quick mental calculation of her age and realized that Little Treasure was at the right age for losing her baby teeth. He quickly soothed her, "Don’t be scared, Little Treasure. The bun didn’t break your tooth. You’re just at the age where you start losing your baby teeth."
Little Treasure blinked her large, teary eyes. "Losing teeth?"
Lin Feng explained the natural process that all children go through when their adult teeth come in. Little Treasure understood, as some of her classmates had already started losing their teeth. But after listening to the explanation, she grew even sadder.
This left Lin Feng bewildered. "Don’t cry, don’t cry! Losing teeth is completely normal, it doesn’t mean you’re sick. It can be a little uncomfortable, but it’s supposed to happen!"
"Waaah, Daddy," Little Treasure sobbed. "I don’t want to lose my teeth! I’ll look so, so ugly..."
??? Lin Feng thought.
