My College Teacher is My Children's Mom-Chapter 607: You’re lying, I was born from my mother!
Time flew swiftly by.
By August, it was time for Little Bao to start kindergarten.
This year, their fourth child was set to join the national team in Jingcheng. Lin Feng’s parents didn’t actually need to accompany him, as Teacher Qiao had already sorted everything out.
However, Wen Xiaoya was less than two months away from giving birth. Lin Feng’s family decided to take the opportunity to visit as well, especially since several of the children were there.
Lin Dashan and his wife also went with them to see if there was anything they could help with and to lend a hand.
Upon their arrival in Jingcheng, Wen Xiaoya’s parents were already waiting for them. They smiled warmly as they took the luggage from their in-laws’ hands.
"You came all this way, you didn’t have to bring anything!"
"These are free-range chickens and ducks I went to the countryside specifically to buy," Zhou Cuilan laughed. "There are some free-range chicken and duck eggs, too. Oh, and I bought a whole pig. It’s country-raised, so the meat is delicious and fragrant."
Wen Xiaoya’s mother was delighted. "That’s so much trouble for you."
Ever since her daughter became pregnant, she had been staying at her parents’ house. It wasn’t that they couldn’t afford a nanny; Wen Xiaoya’s mother simply felt it was better to care for her personally. For the postpartum confinement period, they planned to hire a maternity nurse for the baby, as she hadn’t looked after a newborn in over two decades.
Zhou Cuilan shook her head. "It’s no trouble at all. Lin Feng has a private plane, so it’s convenient to bring anything."
Once they got home, Wen Xiaoya came out to greet them, calling out to everyone sweetly. She had put on some weight. For someone with her petite frame, her belly, now that she was about to give birth, looked almost alarmingly large.
Zhou Cuilan quickly had her sit back down and asked how she was doing.
Zhang Yuxi also came over to listen in. She was very fond of her sister-in-law.
Wen Xiaoya often called their home to video chat with Little Bao. Thanks to these frequent interactions, Little Bao was very much looking forward to her unborn little cousin. Just then, Little Bao squeezed her way to the front, staring at the big belly in astonishment.
"Is there really a baby in there?"
Her expression made everyone laugh. Wen Xiaoya nodded. "Yes, in a little while, a little brother or sister will be born."
Little Bao asked innocently, "Where will it come out from?"
Wen Xiaoya couldn’t answer that, so Little Bao pressed on, "From her butt?"
Everyone nearby laughed awkwardly, and Zhou Cuilan changed the subject. "Little Bao, do you want a little brother or a little sister?"
Little Bao tilted her head. "A sister!"
Zhou Cuilan asked with a laugh, "Why?"
Little Bao answered as if it were the most obvious thing in the world. "So we can play together!"
Wen Xiaoya hugged Little Bao and giggled. "I think it might be a little brother in here, not a sister."
Zhou Cuilan asked, "How do you know? Did you have one of those pregnancy dreams?"
Wen Xiaoya replied, "My dad has an acquaintance at the hospital."
Zhou Cuilan didn’t mind whether it was a grandson or a granddaughter—she would love the child either way. Still, the older generation believed in the good fortune of having both a son and a daughter, so that was, of course, a wonderful thing.
Little Bao turned to Zhang Yuxi. "Mom, was I born this way too?"
Zhang Yuxi asked with a smile, "What do you think?"
Wen Xiaoya teased Little Bao, "Your mom didn’t give birth to you. Your dad did."
Little Bao looked astonished. "Dad gave birth to me? Dads can have babies?" She had an expression that said, ’I may not know much, but don’t you try to fool me!’
Wen Xiaoya nodded seriously. "It just might be possible."
"I don’t believe you! I’m going to ask Daddy!" Little Bao declared, looking from Zhou Cuilan to Zhang Yuxi.
Lin Feng and the others were sorting out the food they had brought.
Little Bao ran over with a PITTER-PATTER of footsteps. "Daddy, can you have babies?"
Lin Feng paused what he was doing. "What?"
"They said you gave birth to me!" Little Bao said earnestly.
Lin Feng wiped his hands. "No, sweetie, you were born from Mommy’s tummy."
Little Bao pouted. "I knew it! Auntie is a liar! Hmph!"
With that, she turned around to settle the score with Wen Xiaoya.
"Auntie, you lied! I was born from Mommy’s tummy!"
Wen Xiaoya just said, "Oh. Then Auntie must have remembered it wrong. Here, put your little hand here. The little brother inside will move soon."
Little Bao was still skeptical. "For real? You better not be tricking me!"
With that, she placed her small hand on Wen Xiaoya’s belly. Nothing happened.
Wen Xiaoya looked at Little Bao gently. "Little Bao, you have to talk to the little brother in my tummy. Then he’ll move."
Half-convinced, Little Bao leaned in and whispered, "Little brother, can you move just a little bit? When you come out, your big sister will give you yummy treats."
As if the little one inside had really heard her, he responded. He gave a sharp kick right under Little Bao’s palm.
Little Bao gasped, beyond excited. "Ah! The little brother moved! He moved!"
Wen Xiaoya smiled softly. "See? Your little brother really likes you!"
Little Bao squatted down, pressing her ear to the belly, and whispered, "Little brother, you should come out quickly. It’s a lot of fun out here!"
Wen Xiaoya gently stroked Little Bao’s head. "Will you play with your little brother when he comes out?"
Little Bao nodded eagerly, her face full of anticipation. "Yes!"
They stayed in Jingcheng for five days this time, only heading back after getting their fourth child registered.
Little Bao was reluctant to leave, but she had to go back. It was time for the little girl to start school, too!
After the four older children left one by one, it was Lin Feng’s turn to take his youngest to school.
There was a prestigious kindergarten near their small estate, which the couple had inspected before. The school environment and the teachers’ qualifications were both excellent, and it was conveniently located near their home. Lin Feng thought back to when his four older children started kindergarten; the memories were still vivid.
The process involved registering online on August 27th, an interview for the parents and child on the 28th, waiting for notification on the 29th, and completing the official enrollment on the 30th.
The kindergarten had a total of three classes, and with only twenty children per class, spots were limited. After registering online, he received a text message notifying him that the interview for parents and children was at nine o’clock in the morning on the 28th. Both parents had to be present.
Early the next morning, Lin Feng woke the little girl, got her dressed, and sat with her while she ate breakfast.
When the family arrived at the kindergarten, they found that many other parents had already arrived. The school had a waiting area where parents and children could rest until their number was called for the interview.
Little Bao was not happy at all. She huddled in Lin Feng’s arms, pouting. "Daddy, I don’t want to go to school!"
Lin Feng coaxed her gently. "School is great! You’ll have lots of other children to play with, and the teachers will teach you new things."
Little Bao kept pouting, still unhappy. "I still don’t want to go to school!"
Little Bao was very resistant to the idea of school. It had taken a lot of work from the whole family to get her to agree in the first place. Now that they were actually here, she was already starting to back out.
A parent nearby overheard and chimed in with a smile. "School is a lot of fun! You’ll get to play all sorts of fun games with many other children! Besides, all children have to go to school when they turn three. That’s how you learn things!"
Little Bao’s brow furrowed as she looked up at Lin Feng with pleading, pitiful eyes. 𝐟𝚛𝕖𝚎𝕨𝗲𝐛𝚗𝐨𝐯𝐞𝕝.𝐜𝗼𝗺
Lin Feng doted on his daughter, but he also knew when to be firm. He chimed in, "That’s right. After you turn three, you have to go to school. It’s something all children have to do."
"When can I stop going to school?" Little Bao asked sadly.
Lin Feng’s answer only made her more upset. "You can stop going to school when you’re as big as your older siblings."
Little Bao burst into tears with a wail. "But that’s so long from now! Daddy, let’s go home! I don’t want to go to school anymore..."
