Chapter 262: Sister To The Rescue

(Karsten)

The session with Ranold where I chopped off not only his hair but heavily bruised his scalp and the back of his neck, so he could feel every sting, every prick, brought a different kind of satisfaction for my heart.

"Keep him alive, I will return later for him." I turned off the electric razor and focused my eyes on a quivering, thrashing Urisa.

This was just a tiny dose of what was coming for them.

Hades let her go and took the razor from me. I wanted to continue but I had been away from hospital for far too long.

I had to change and get back to the hospital. What if she called for me again? I had to be there.

"Not a single hair on her head," I instructed before casually walking away with satisfaction brimming in my heart.

Going home, I changed my clothes, took a bath and donned fresh ones before walking out.

I summoned Asbela. "Where is Roshra?"

"She is sleeping," she diligently answered and I nodded. She didn’t move and concernedly asked.

"Master! How is Arata?"

"She is recovering. Maybe one day I will be able to bring her home," I hopefully said but my heart ached. My words sounded too uncertain.

"She will come, Master," Asbela lowered her head and shyly said with her hands fiddling with each other. "She loves you."

A faint smile crossed my lips and I nodded at her before getting into the car.

Miranda called me while we drove towards the hospital, informing me that they had visited Arata. I knew their visit must have lifted Arata’s spirit.

"Thanks, Miranda."

On the way, I got everything Arata liked. From strawberries to chocolates, a teddy bear and blue roses. But the question was, how was I going to get everything to her?

’I should have brought Roshra,’ I thought to myself while climbing down and making my way inside the hospital, towards the waiting area.

Her father was just leaving. The man literally hated my guts and tolerated my presence, only God knew how.

"Dad, you need to sleep. Stella and I will stay here while you go get a few hours of rest. She is better now." Zaylen had taken his arm and was trying to lead him out.

The stubborn old man seemed to be listening to his son for a change. As we bypassed each other he pinned me with a scathing glare.

"My daughter is healing now and she has made it obvious she doesn’t want to see you. Why do you keep coming back?"

Zaylen shook his head beside his father while I remained undeterred.

"I am not going anywhere until she is discharged or tells me she doesn’t want to see me."

His jaw shut so tight that I thought he would crack a tooth or might even burst a vein in his temple.

If it had been a fantasy setting, electricity would have arched in the space between us, separating us.

"Dad, let’s go." Zaylen passed an uneasy glance from me to his father.

He practically dragged his father away, leaving Stella and me behind.

"Ensure he doesn’t go inside her room..."

I heard him say to Zaylen as the door closed behind them.

I wanted to shake my head.

"Do you care about her, or is it just a fake pretence like you did when you made her your stand-in girlfriend?" Stella asked, making me turn my attention towards her.

She had her hands on her waist and questions in her sharp eyes. This was the kind of girl who didn’t mess around.

"I do, very deeply," I answered, settling in a chair and crossing my legs while she kept her judgmental eyes focused on me.

"I used to be a fan of Twisted Rider. It was me, in fact, who introduced Arata to your page. And now I regret that decision." Her glare deepened.

It was the best decision ever, in my opinion, but I didn’t voice it out loud. There was no need to poke the angry lady. If I wanted to stand a chance, I had to win Arata’s best friend over.

I knew Arata’s family knew of my secret, and if it was revealed, it would be devastating for my reputation.

"It’s a request to not make that secret a public service message."

Stella narrowed her eyes on me. "Then you better behave with my friend. If you ever hurt her again, it will be blasted on every media platform."

My lips flattened at her threat but I had to play the Mr Nice Guy.

"You have my word." I placed my hand on my heart to show how sincere I was.

Before she could answer, she was interrupted by a male voice.

"Stel!"

I turned my head to watch who had entered. It was a well-dressed guy holding a bouquet of red roses.

"Callum! You made it." Stella’s anger evaporated seeing the boy and I thought he must be her boyfriend.

To my dismay, they only hugged, and he didn’t offer the bouquet to her.

"Can I see her?" He expectantly asked and she nodded with a smile.

Damnit! He was speaking about Arata.

His eyes wavered to me and I sent him a death stare. The man was visiting my girl with a bouquet of red roses.

Who was he?

Stella told him the room number and the guy hurriedly left. The anger made my body shake.

It was time to call Roshra. So I stood up and left the waiting area to call my sister. She could easily handle such distractions.

Luckily, Roshra was already up and getting ready to come visit Arata. Soon, my sister arrived, and I intercepted her in the parking lot.

"We have a situation here," I told her grimly and she raised her brow while rubbing away invisible specs of dust from my collar.

"Brother dear, your sister was born to deal with tough situations. Come on, spill everything."

I explained about the boy who had entered her room with red roses. A simple friend doesn’t bring red roses to a female.

"I want you to find out who he is and take all these gifts for her. They will shadow the flowers he has brought." Olphi and I dragged out all the gifts from the car, and before we could enter the waiting area, I thrust them into Roshra’s hands.

"I got this, Kari. Once I walk in there, no room for conversation will remain for anyone else." Roshra confidently walked inside. My sister loved talking and being the center of attention. The best way to divert attention. Keeping my fingers crossed I settled in the chair again waiting for her to bring me news from the inside.
