My CEO Boss Is A Masked Internet Sensation-Chapter 251: Where Is My Baba?
Chapter 251: Where Is My Baba?
(Arata)
I drifted into a conscious and an unconscious state for a while before, finally, my eyes could open.
Even then, my eyelids felt so heavy that I could hardly keep them open.
At least there was no pain.
Where was I?
The last I remembered was that bastard Ranold torturing me.
So why wasn’t I in pain?
My eyes finally focused and before I could panic, I found myself in a bed with a kind face staring at me with a broad smile.
I had no idea who she was but she didn’t seem hostile or people could be deceptive.
That’s exactly how Ranold used to smile at me before he took me hostage.
The panic hit me like a tsunami and I tried to shuffle away from the woman.
"Stay back, who are you? Don’t come near me," I screeched at her, trying to get up. But I was hooked on IV and whatnot.
"Relax, no one is going to hurt you." The smile vanished from her face as she took a step back, letting me breathe.
She was dressed in all white.
Was I in heaven?
Did the bastard kill me and my child?
I stared at my hands and found them to be bandaged. Instantly, they went to my belly and cradled it.
I gasped. "My baby?"
"Your baby is fine. Don’t worry," the woman answered kindly.
Relief flooded through me, as my hands protectively stayed on my belly.
She took a step closer to me, extending her hand, but I freaked out.
"Don’t touch me. Where is my Baba?" She halted and respected my wishes.
"He is outside. Waiting to meet you. But first Dr Tames will need to check on you," she answered with a smile and contacted the doctor on her pager.
My heart drowned...what if they did something to me?
Who even brought me here?
Was she even telling the truth?
"No, please, no. I want to see my family." I thrashed on the bed, trying to get up.
But I had no strength or energy and there were too many bandages. My hands found their way to my face and even that was covered in them.
The door opened and two more people walked in. A doctor and probably his assistant.
They also had controlled smiles on their faces.
"Arata! How are you feeling?" The one with the white coat stepped closer and I shrieked.
The horror of an unknown man touching me made such unease and terror birth inside me.
"Stay back, don’t touch me."
The doctor and the nurse passed a look which meant, ’She is cuckoo.’
"It’s alright, Arata. I promise I am not going to hurt you. Just do a regular checkup and then you can meet your family. So, please, can I?" He asked softly, his voice not at all hostile. But that bloody smile haunted me.
Ranold carried the same smile.
"Nooo, I want to see my Baba. Please, call him." I shook my head violently and he had to take a step back.
"It’s fine, it’s fine Arata. No one is going to hurt you. So how about we call your dad. He holds your hand and you let me examine you? Does that sound good?" He sweetly asked and I offered a quick nod, wanting to see Baba so badly.
He turned his head and whispered something to his assistant. He nodded and scurried off.
I looked away and tried not to panic. Taking deep breaths to fill my lungs with as much oxygen as was available to me.
The doctor checked the machines attached to my body and picked up my file to go through it, speaking with the nurse.
Soon, the door opened, and my head impatiently swivelled in the direction.
Baba had just entered through. His desperate and concerned eyes found me and he tried to smile...
A wounded forced smile.
"Baba..." I brokenly called out to him.
Taking quick strides he was instantly at my side. I wanted to throw myself in his arms but I couldn’t move much.
He just took my hand and placed an affectionate kiss on the back of it.
"Arata Chan, how are you, my precious girl?" I could sense, he was hardly holding back tears.
His other hand rested on my head, caressing it as his deep gaze remained on my face.
The storm of emotions swept me away and I burst out crying. Baba instantly placed his arms above my chest, trying to console me. His lips rested on my head while he let me cry out the bitter memories.
"It’s going to be fine. I am here now and I am not letting you go," Baba’s calm voice was like a balm for my agitated heart.
"We will be back shortly," the doctor mumbled before all of them walked out, giving us space.
I wasn’t sure how long I cried, and Baba held me, but finally, my tears halted.
Baba settled down beside me on the chair and held my hand in both of his, watching me as I tried to bring my emotions under control.
"How long have I been unconscious?" I asked, stifling a cry. My heart felt so full.
"Two days," he calmly answered but his face had hardened. He was trying to suppress those emotions.
Two days??? I had been unconscious for two whole fucking days.
"Who found me?" I questioned again; my face felt itchy because of the bandages and now tears. I wanted to scratch at it but my hands were not even free.
Getting kidnapped will never be on my future agenda. The aftermath was too brutal.
Baba’s body, on the other hand, went stiff; a murderous glint had descended in his eyes at my question.
I got the answer just from his expressions. He wasn’t pleased at all and I could tell they must have gotten my flashdrive.
"Karsten," he finally said with a set jaw.
He found me...
I needed to set the facts straight or the police would go after him.
"Baba, I was wrong... I need to speak with the police. That flash drive....that was all Ranold...he sabotaged everything. There is so much I need to tell you..." I began to panic again.
