My CEO Boss Is A Masked Internet Sensation-Chapter 247: The Room In The Basement
Chapter 247: The Room In The Basement
(Karsten)
Noise rose from inside as my destination was Ranold’s room.
Someone shrieked, a female or maybe two.
Hades aimed and blew up the security system, shutting it up for good.
"Find her and take everyone in custody. I am going for Ranold," I shouted out to Hades. He nodded and I moved forward.
Kicking the door open to Ranold’s room I entered in a flurry.
My eyes burnt from the scene; Urisa was rising from Ranold’s bed, half-naked. With her eyes blown wide, she only had a blanket curled around her body.
The anger and rage swirled inside me to make a detonating cocktail as I lunged at her and grabbed her arm.
She squealed like a frightened squirrel, "Ka–rsten."
"I would say I am shocked to find you here but I am not. Where is Ranold?" I jerked her so she would face me. The blanket half slipped revealing her nakedness underneath.
I wanted to burn her to a crisp.
"...I don’t know...I can explain."
I leaned closer so my breath was on her face. So much hate had descended in my eyes at that moment and I wondered why I ever liked this woman.
She tried to lean away from me, horror etched on every centimetre of her face.
"I don’t care for your explanations, I already know. Remember you are going to pay them times what you and Ranold have done to Arata."
Two of my men had entered the room behind me.
"Bind her and stuff her in the car. I will deal with her later. Find her phone and leave it for the police so they can know of her involvement." I shoved her towards them and terror so raw flashed in her eyes.
"No, please, Karsten. Listen." They grabbed her and I walked out of the room, not caring in the least to her pleas and cries.
Urisa was dead to me.
My target was Ranold and I needed to find Arata.
Hades’ voice came through comms.
"We have found the basement room but it’s locked. We are going to blow up the door. It’s behind the laundry room."
My feet shuffled against the carpeted floors as I rushed towards the laundry room. Behind the sliding door, I could see the stairs. There was another metal door, where the stairs ended. The silvery surface glinted under the low light which decorated the sides of the staircase.
Another one of my men stood there and ushered me downstairs, handing me a gas mask. I put it on.
By the time I began descending the stairs, they were blowing up the metal door.
Hades’ voice came, making me halt halfway through the wooden stairs.
"Brace yourself, stay back."
And then a contained explosion occurred, blowing up the lock of the metal door. The black smoke rose but I cared in the least. Rushing the rest of the way down I violently kicked the door and took off the mask.
The smoke swirled all around me, curling like a black devil. Hades arrived behind me and I handed the mask to him. Kicking at the door again I let it rattle and fly open.
I entered, my eyes squinting to find what I was looking for.
And there he was at the far end of the room, holding a knife in his hand, aimed at the throat of my Phoenix.
My Blue Rose, my woman.
My heart dropped in a bottomless pit seeing the condition she was in...
It took every ounce of willpower I possessed to keep standing on my feet.
So fragile, almost like she had wilted from being in the proximity of a devil who had hurt her in ways unimaginable to me.
Her head had tilted to the side, and her eyes were closed; the blood dripped from her nostrils and mouth.
The storm of my rage thrashed against the shores of sanity—making my body shake uncontrollably. My hands fisted on both sides of my legs and I had to control the urge to rush at Ranold and plummet him to death.
"One more step, and I would slit her throat," he roared in a shaky voice, and my blood-soaked eyes wavered to him.
I was going to enjoy tearing this man to shreds. The face of a traitor and a backstabber just had a new meaning for me.
"Let her go, Ranold, there is no escape," I told him while trying not to gnash my teeth against each other.
"Oh! Really? Last I checked, the police were trying to capture you and raid your home," he blurted out, but I could see the confidence evaporating from his voice.
Cold, his eyes were so cold and lifeless. There was no humanity left in them.
Truly the devil’s incarnation and I wondered how I was so blind to never see him as to what he was.
Hades’ presence beside me came with his deep voice.
"Let me know when you want me to take a shot."
I nodded and warned Ranold again. "Step away from her if you want to live. That’s my last warning."
Ranold’s eyes wavered from me to my men and he smirked but rather uneasily.
"So you finally embraced your dark side. You think she will love you now? She hates you and she will never be yours."
The knife pressed tightly against her exposed neck, and all my self-restraint broke.
"Fine by me as long as she is safe from the likes of you," I venomously spat out. "Take the shot," I murmured under my breath to Hades.
Ranold’s whole attention was on me and Hades. He was watching our hands so he wasn’t focused on the man behind me. ƒreeωebnovel.ƈom
Hades whispered into the Comms and the sharpshooter behind me aimed the tranquilizers right at Ranold’s hand.
Before Ranold could process it, he was hit on his wrist, and the knife dropped from his hand, cluttering to the ground.
His eyes rolled in his sockets and I moved like a Flash. Before he hit the ground I was already in front of him. Fisting my hand with the phoenix tattoo I punched him hard against the face, grabbing his collar.
Once.
Twice.
Thrice.
And then I lost count...
All I could hear was the sickening sound of bones breaking and blood gushing out.
Hades hand on my shoulder and his loud voice brought me back.
"We need him alive, remember. Let me take him from here and you save our Queen."
Heart pumping and body shaking so violently, I let Hades take an unconscious Ranold away from me.
I turned to face Arata and tears burnt the back of my eyes. My fingers moved on the reflex to feel her pulse from her injured neck.
"I am here," I whispered in a flurry of emotions, not even recognising my voice.
My eyes wouldn’t waver from her face, it was hardly recognisable from the injuries she had sustained.
Alive—she was alive. A rush of emotions and relief flooded me. Picking up the knife from the ground I began to cut out the ropes, binding her severely swollen wrists.
My hands shook so violently that I couldn’t even cut open the ropes.
"Let me," Hades sympathetically said from behind me but I shook my head.
"Tie him up and load him in the car. Find his phone and bring it to me," I instructed, setting Arata’s right hand free.
Burnt and injured, even her hands hadn’t been spared. I had to close my eyes for a second to calm my heart.
But there was only blood, injuries, and her broken body.
Wings of my phoenix had been clipped and now it was my duty to nurture her back.
