My Aloof Husband, Mr. Drexler, Dotes Me Excessively-Chapter 142: You Want the One Named Xu to Win?
"Bet?" Noah Drexler frowned, asking with concern.
"Yeah... whoever gets the higher bid wins." Summer Shawcross nodded, answering truthfully, though thinking about the fifty million he bid at the end today made her feel a bit of heartache.
She didn’t know why it turned out this way. Obviously, at first, she thought Noah’s bidding was too shrewd and low, but when he suddenly bid fifty million, it hurt her to think about the money.
Thinking of this, Summer couldn’t help but curl her lips, muttering softly.
"Actually, you didn’t have to spend that fifty million." That way, she could trick Dustin Hughes out of some money!
As soon as she spoke, Noah’s face darkened in the shadows.
"You want that Hughes guy to win?" His deep voice carried a few traces of suppressed anger.
Did she want that Hughes guy to successfully bid for her piece?
"Yeah, then we would have saved a lot of money!" Summer nodded.
The hand on her waist suddenly tightened, and the man’s handsome face was full of coldness.
The winner of the auction could get a chance to have her play exclusively for them!
...
The sudden tightening of the hand on her waist startled Summer, and as she was caught off guard, the man’s voice, full of dangerous questioning, resounded beside her ear.
"Do you want to be alone with him?"
The dangerous meaning in his words took Summer by surprise again. 𝑓𝓇𝘦ℯ𝘸𝘦𝑏𝓃𝑜𝘷ℯ𝑙.𝑐𝑜𝓂
The room was still pitch black, and she couldn’t see his expression at this moment, but she could already imagine the coldness on his handsome face.
Her heart tightened.
"Well... I didn’t mean that..." She laughed dryly, hastily defending herself.
It always seemed that Noah’s focus and understanding were distinctively different. She was clearly talking about feeling distressed over the large sum of money, yet he could interpret it as her wanting to be alone with Dustin!
"Then what do you mean, huh?" The man lowered his head, lowering his voice, asking her with suppressed anger.
The big hand holding her seemed to be silently threatening him.
As he spoke, the warm breath sprayed on her ear, making her heart tremble.
"I... I was just feeling sorry for our money..." She paused, then continued.
As her voice fell, in the darkness, the man’s eyes flashed.
What she just said was, our money...
Home... a word that had always been unfamiliar to him, as if it had never existed, now spoken from her mouth, moved him, and a warm sense of warmth gradually spread.
The anger that had just arisen slowly dissipated...
"Right, the spoils of my win today." At this point, sitting in his arms, Summer suddenly remembered something, hurriedly getting up from him and turning on the light in the room.
The room instantly brightened.
Noah, wearing just a white shirt and black trousers, sat on the sofa, with a couple of buttons undone on his shirt, revealing half of his firm chest... and that handsome face now carried a hint of laziness...
The scene made Summer freeze for a moment.
The sight was so tempting that she couldn’t help but swallow.
By the time she realized it, she was somewhat collapsing and regretting turning on the light.
Since that night when she accidentally drank the butler’s soup, she felt like she’d become a bit abnormal.
