Multiversal Wanderer: Starting in Naruto-Chapter 39: The Power of Nuclear Bomb
Chapter 39 - 39: The Power of Nuclear Bomb
"Lead this monster to the seaside!" Su Xiuyu instructed the Uchiha team, ordering them to direct the creature known as Axe toward the coast. If the military confirmed that conventional weapons were useless against Axe, they would resort to nuclear bombs. Though nuclear weapons carried devastating radiation, allowing Axe to rampage unchecked would reduce all of San Francisco to rubble.
Following Su Xiuyu's command, Uchiha Fan and Uchiha Dan turned around and began guiding Axe toward the shore. They bombarded it with Wind and Water Release techniques, keeping its attention firmly on them. To Su Xiuyu, observing the battle from afar, it felt like watching players kite a boss in a video game.
Despite the relentless bombardment from aerial forces, Axe was entirely fixated on the Uchiha team. It no longer reacted to the military's attacks, solely intent on killing the shinobi.
"All teams, evacuate immediately. You have thirty minutes to clear the area. You know what this means," Su Xiuyu's voice echoed through the comms.
The fighter jets that received the order swiftly retreated, while the ground forces began to withdraw. The large-scale evacuation made the reason obvious—it was as blatant as a louse on a monk's head.
"Prepare to fall back. The world's most advanced weaponry will soon cleanse the area," Su Xiuyu warned.
The Uchiha team quickly formed shadow clones, using them to continue distracting Axe while their real bodies quietly slipped away toward the sea.
"I have to admit, Tobirama was truly a genius. The Shadow Clone Technique is incredibly useful," Madara muttered, though his admiration for the Tobirama was begrudging. Despite his dislike for Tobirama, he couldn't deny the brilliance of the jutsu. However, he still found Tobirama's paranoia and pettiness distasteful—especially his obsessive grudge against the Uchiha.
"Madara," Su Xiuyu reminded him, his tone serious. "When the nuclear bomb detonates, activate your Susanoo immediately. I'll use the Four Red Yang Formation to contain the blast's impact. Remember, a nuclear explosion releases not only a powerful shockwave but also intense heat and deadly radiation. Don't underestimate it."
Madara's eyes narrowed at the warning but he gave a sharp nod, signaling that he understood.
As the minutes passed, the countdown reached its final stretch. Suddenly, a supersonic fighter jet streaked across the sky, leaving a Mach cloud in its wake.
"They're here! Everyone, get behind me and Madara!" Su Xiuyu barked.
The group quickly gathered behind the two, while the Uchiha team's shadow clones continued their decoy tactic. Using their chakra, they easily clung to Axe's massive frame, running along its limbs to keep its attention.
The fighter jet slowed, releasing a tactical missile aimed at Axe before rapidly gaining altitude. The massive monster paid the missile no mind, its fury still locked onto the fleeing shinobi.
"Four Red Yang Formation!" Su Xiuyu's shadow clone activated the barrier jutsu, creating a colossal red cube of chakra around Axe and the incoming missile.
"Commander, the nuclear bomb has been launched accurately. However, a red, cube-shaped energy field has formed around the monster. We cannot confirm the source of the field, but it is highly unlikely to be the monster's doing," a soldier reported over the comms.
"Explain your reasoning," the commander demanded.
"Sir, if the monster intended to defend itself, it would create the barrier outside the blast radius. But this field also encloses the nuclear bomb itself. The monster isn't stupid enough to trap the bomb inside with it," the soldier reasoned.

"...Understood. All units, return to base. Your mission is complete. Get out of there."
The nuclear bomb detonated. A blinding light, akin to a second sun, erupted over the sea. Even through the Four Red Yang Formation, the scorching heat and searing light could be felt.
Madara watched the explosion with a rare sense of awe. "I never imagined mortals could create a weapon of such devastating power. Its destructive force rivals that of the Tailed Beasts back in the ninja world," he muttered.
Su Xiuyu, who had already witnessed the power of nuclear weapons, remained calm. "What you're seeing is just a relatively standard nuclear bomb. There are far larger and deadlier variants. While we still hold the advantage with our abilities, don't forget—humans in this world can manufacture hundreds, even thousands of these. They might not be able to easily destroy monsters, but they have the power to take everything down with them."
Madara's eyes narrowed as he absorbed the grim reality.
Su Xiuyu's voice lowered ominously. "When I say 'perish together,' I don't mean with us—I mean with their entire world."
Within the Four Red Yang Formation, Axe's monstrous roars grew weaker. The waves of shockwaves and infernos reduced its silicon-based body to charred remains. Eventually, the beast fell silent. The once-unstoppable terror was now nothing more than a lifeless husk.
"Sir, the red energy field has dissipated. The monster is confirmed dead," a soldier reported.
"Deploy teams in protective gear immediately. We need to conduct a field investigation and recover samples of the monster's corpse. This disaster has left San Francisco in ruins. If this happens again, we could lose another city. We need to prepare for the possibility of further monster invasions," the commander ordered grimly.
At the headquarters, a somber voice echoed through the room. "Ladies and gentlemen, our conventional weapons are useless against these giant monsters. We have no choice but to rely on nuclear weapons. But if these attacks continue, even without monsters, the nuclear radiation alone will render the land uninhabitable. We'll destroy ourselves before the monsters do. Let's hope this was an isolated incident."
As the weight of the devastation sank in, the headquarters fell into a heavy silence. The image of countless civilians reduced to ash flashed through their minds.
Meanwhile, Su Xiuyu and his group had quietly retreated, deactivating the Four Red Yang Formation. Hidden from sight, they observed the fallout. Su Xiuyu wanted Madara and the others to witness the power of technology—a force so foreign to their shinobi world that it was almost inconceivable.
For the Uchiha, the experience was enlightening. Facing a massive "summoned beast" had provided them with invaluable combat experience. The terrifying display of technological warfare had shattered any lingering attachment they had to the petty schemes and infighting back in Konoha.
After seeing the vastness of this new world, they realized just how small their old grudges had been.
------
The vast beach was coated with a thick, blue-black viscous liquid, staining the sand and polluting the sea. Workers in chemical protective suits labored tirelessly to clean up the Kaiju's blood. One reckless man had even touched the Kaiju's blood with his bare hands—an act of foolishness that earned him a place in a coffin.
With that grim lesson learned, everyone handling the Kaiju's remains was now far more cautious. Careless mistakes could easily lead to death. However, according to research conducted by the institute, the Kaiju's limbs still held potential for scientific use.
The final statistics of the San Francisco Kaiju invasion were grim: over 13,800 people dead. In truth, based on video footage reviewed afterward, if not for the intervention of several superhumans, the death toll would have been at least three times higher. The dead were still being counted, but the living faced their own nightmare. Millions were left homeless, awaiting resettlement by the U.S. government. Unfortunately, the sheer number of displaced citizens made quick resettlement impossible.
The Kaiju invasion had shaken America's international status to its core. Their inability to protect their own cities, coupled with the struggle to relocate the victims, exposed their vulnerability to the world.
However, resettlement was soon placed on the back burner. The U.S. government shifted its focus toward defensive measures, bracing for the possibility of another Kaiju attack. Tragically, there were no viable solutions yet. Their only option remained nuclear bombs.
What was even more disheartening was the realization that the reason Axehead had been destroyed with just one nuclear bomb was due to the Four Red Yang Formation, which had contained the explosion's force in a confined space. Without that barrier, based on the remnants of the Kaiju's limbs, it would have required at least three nuclear bombs to fully obliterate it.
The analysis left everyone dismayed. The radiation from a single nuclear bomb had already rendered San Francisco uninhabitable for a hundred years. If they had to resort to multiple bombs for future Kaiju, the consequences would be catastrophic.
Kaiju or Suicide?
"What if another Kaiju shows up? Throw more nuclear bombs?" The grim realization spread through the higher-ups. "If we keep using nukes, it'll be nothing more than a slow march toward self-destruction."
Meanwhile, during the Kaiju attack, surveillance footage had clearly captured several "superhumans" in action. Yet, none of them seemed concerned about being exposed. They had helped evacuate civilians in San Francisco, displaying extraordinary abilities—manipulating the earth, scaling walls, and even unleashing elemental attacks like flames and high-pressure water.
The most shocking footage came from the satellites, which recorded the massive red energy field. To the world's disbelief, the barrier had been conjured by one of the superhumans. The field was strong enough to contain a nuclear explosion—an unfathomable feat for any known technology.
In the aftermath, the U.S. Congress was left speculating. Many members believed this was humanity's first confirmed encounter with extraterrestrials. Ironically, their guess wasn't far from the truth. Unfortunately, when they attempted to track down this mysterious group, they were nowhere to be found.
After disposing of Axehead, Su Xiuyu and his group resumed their leisurely journey. With no looming threats, they traveled at a relaxed pace, enjoying the sights and experiences of the world.
Madara and Izuna even took a liking to drinking in bars. The once-stoic Uchiha brothers were loosening up, leaving their past burdens behind.
"Xiu Yu," Madara eventually asked, having grown restless, "can your eyes predict the next Kaiju invasion?"
Su Xiuyu was momentarily surprised by Madara's interest in the Kaiju.
"I want to capture one and see if it can be tamed as a summoning beast," Madara explained. "That way, even if we leave, it could still protect the Uchiha clan."
Su Xiuyu's eyes narrowed thoughtfully. "You can try," he agreed, but his tone was serious. "But remember, Kaiju are actually man-made bioweapons. If you capture one, it may still have a connection to its creators. We'll have to sever that link and brainwash it first. Only then can we turn it into a summoning beast."
Madara's eyes gleamed with excitement. The thought of having a Kaiju as a summoning beast made his blood boil. With such a creature at his disposal, few in the ninja world could stand against him.
Far away in the desert of the Ninja Realm, Shukaku suddenly shivered, feeling an ominous chill. "Damn it! Who the hell is spying on me?" the One-Tail muttered uneasily.
"Be patient, Madara," Su Xiuyu said with a faint smile. "The next Kaiju will take some time to arrive. If I remember correctly, it'll strike Manila in the Philippines."
Without hesitation, the group set off for Manila. The beaches were stunning, with golden sands and crystal-clear waters. The tropical scenery made it an ideal vacation spot, and the group took full advantage of it.
Every day, they basked under the sun, relaxing on the beach. Su Xiuyu was only slightly disappointed when Uzumaki Mito refused to wear a swimsuit in public. She was too shy, but she promised to wear it for him in private. That promise alone made the wait worthwhile.
Days passed in blissful relaxation. Then, on an ordinary afternoon, as Su Xiuyu lounged on the beach, he suddenly sat up, his expression serious.
"Everyone, be alert," he warned. "The Kaiju is coming."
Through his earth-manipulation abilities, he had already sensed the monster's approach.
The calm ocean waves suddenly surged with unnatural force, crashing violently against the shore. Then, from beneath the waves, the monstrous form of another Kaiju emerged, six months after Axehead's defeat. The beachgoers screamed in terror, fleeing in all directions. The scene was an eerie repeat of the San Francisco tragedy.
Su Xiuyu glanced at Madara. "Madara, do you want to handle this one?"
Madara's lips curled into a rare grin. "Let me try. We need to deal with it quickly—before the military starts thinking about nukes again."
"Susanoo!"
In an instant, a towering, blue-armored chakra giant erupted into existence, dwarfing the Kaiju. Standing at nearly twice the Kaiju's height, Madara's fully-armored Susanoo resembled a god.
He chose not to use Susanoo's sword, wary of accidentally killing the Kaiju. Instead, he relied on raw physical power. With his massive fists, he pummeled the beast mercilessly, sending it staggering backward.
Military satellites from various countries locked onto the battle. Governments that were initially preparing their fighter jets to respond now hesitated. Their plans shifted as they watched the spectacle unfold.
On the beach, tourists who had initially been fleeing now stopped in their tracks. In awe of the surreal battle, they whipped out their phones and began filming the titanic showdown.
Su Xiuyu rubbed his temples in exasperation. "Mito, look at these idiots. They're not even running."
Mito chuckled and leaned into him. "It's not every day they get to witness a monster fight. Let them enjoy the show."
Madara, meanwhile, grew increasingly excited. The Kaiju was far more durable than he had expected—it was essentially a giant meat shield. Despite receiving dozens of bone-crushing punches from Susanoo's fists, it continued to writhe and snarl, bleeding but still brimming with fight.
"Stubborn bastard," Madara growled, smirking. The Kaiju's resilience made it an even more tempting candidate for a summoned beast.
It quickly became clear that without using Susanoo's weapons or ninjutsu, the Kaiju wouldn't be going down anytime soon. It was shaping up to be a long battle of pure brute force.
