Multiple Personalities-Chapter 460: Monster Division

"You think you can defeat me like this?!" The monster's voice echoed in the cave, filled with anger and mockery.

The three looked at the monster, unsure of what attack it would unleash next.

The giant energy ball emanated a terrifying aura, as if it contained endless power.

Shen Jingqi stared at the ever-expanding, terrifying energy ball, his heart pounding wildly in his chest, as if about to burst through. Lin Yu's hand holding the long sword trembled unconsciously, sweat sliding down his forehead, blurring his vision. "How many tricks does this monster still have?!" His voice trembled, tinged with a sob, as fear overwhelmed him like a tidal wave.

Shen Jingqi whispered, "Don't panic, we must fight till the end!"

Li Baiyu took a deep breath, trying to calm herself. She closed her eyes, feeling the flow of energy in the air around her, trying to find a way out of this desperate situation. "There must be a way, there must be..." she muttered, ancient spells and legends flashing quickly through her mind. Suddenly, her eyes lit up as if she thought of something.

"Lin Yu, Shen Jingqi, I might have found a way! But I need your cooperation, to buy me some time." Li Baiyu suddenly opened her eyes and said urgently. Her eyes shone with a glimmer of hope, but within that light lay a trace of worry, for even she wasn't entirely confident in this solution.

Lin Yu and Shen Jingqi exchanged a glance, and without hesitation, nodded. "Alright! Tell us what to do, and we'll do it!" Lin Yu said loudly, his voice still trembling with fear, but determined. He thought, even if there's only a slim chance of survival, he'd grasp it firmly, for himself and for the comrades fighting by his side.

Shen Jingqi also gripped his dagger tightly and said, "Don't worry, we'll do everything to protect you." His eyes scanned the surroundings, wary of the monster's possible attacks.

Li Baiyu quickly began forming seals, chanting under her breath. Weak lights emanated from her fingertips, gradually converging. Lin Yu and Shen Jingqi kept their eyes fixed on the monster, ready to face its attack at any moment. The monster seemed to detect their intentions, letting out an angry roar, and suddenly, the giant energy ball shot blazing beams towards them.

"Watch out!" Shen Jingqi shouted, quickly pulling Lin Yu aside as he sidestepped a beam. The beam grazed his shoulder, creating a huge crater in the wall, the heatwave stinging his face.

Lin Yu steadied himself, looking at the wall hit by the beam, fear washing over him. "The beams are too powerful, we can't hold them off for long." He said anxiously, his eyes full of concern.

Shen Jingqi remained silent, focused intently on the monster, looking for an opening. At that moment, the monster seemed distracted from launching its beam attack, its body swaying slightly. Shen Jingqi seized the opportunity, shouting, and charged towards the monster. He leaped into the air, his dagger gleaming coldly, aiming at the monster's leg.

The monster sensed Shen Jingqi's attack, lifting its leg to kick him away. But Shen Jingqi was nimble, spinning in mid-air to dodge, and then pounced again. His dagger sparked against the monster's leg, not causing substantial damage, but successfully drawing the monster's attention.

Lin Yu wasn't idle either. Taking advantage of the monster's distraction, he maneuvered behind it, swinging his sword at the monster's back. The sword hit the monster's back with a "clang," leaving a shallow mark. The monster turned angrily, spewing flames at Lin Yu. He quickly retreated, but the flames still caught his clothing, which ignited instantly. He frantically patted the flames, panic seizing him.

"Lin Yu, don't panic!" Shen Jingqi shouted, tossing a dagger that accurately sliced through the burning part of Lin Yu's clothing. Grateful, Lin Yu gave Shen Jingqi a glance, then gripped his sword again, ready to attack once more.

By then, Li Baiyu's spell was almost ready. She shouted, "Now!" A tremendous light shot from her hands, charging towards the monster's energy ball. The light and energy ball collided, erupting in a deafening explosion. The entire cave shook violently, rocks tumbling down as if about to collapse.

The three were blown away by the force of the explosion, hitting the ground heavily. They struggled to stand, looking at the scene ahead. The monster's energy ball had been dispersed by the light, and the monster itself suffered severe damage, its body swaying. But it didn't fall, instead letting out a piercing scream as its body began to undergo an even more bizarre transformation.

Its body gradually became transparent, the energy inside roiling like fierce tides. Suddenly, it split into countless small monsters, tiny but swift, their eyes gleaming maliciously. They swarmed towards the three like a pack of hungry beasts spotting their prey.

"Damn, it's split into smaller monsters, how do we handle so many?!" Lin Yu exclaimed in terror, his body shaking uncontrollably. Seeing the countless small monsters, he felt a wave of despair, as though trapped in an inescapable nightmare.

Shen Jingqi held his dagger firmly, his gaze steady. "Don't panic; we'll fight back to back!" he shouted. He knew that in such circumstances, only unity offered a slim chance of survival.

The three quickly stood back to back, warily watching the small monsters around them. The monsters encircled them, making hissing sounds before suddenly launching their attack. They surged like a black tide, claws out, ready to tear them apart.

Lin Yu swung his sword desperately, slashing at the approaching small monsters. For every one he felled, more surged forward. His arms grew weary, the sword feeling heavier, but he dared not pause, knowing that stopping would mean death.

Shen Jingqi moved nimbly among the small monsters, his dagger like the scythe of death, claiming a small monster's life with every swing. But there were just too many small monsters, making him feel like a lone leaf in the ocean, always on the verge of being overwhelmed.
