Chapter 607: Chapter 607: Three Choices

Jasmine’s heart skipped a beat, she yanked off her blindfold, her eyes wide as she looked at Faye Xavier, her expression as if she’d seen a ghost.

"Long time no see, Jaz, did you miss me?" Faye said with a smile that didn’t reach his eyes, causing Jasmine to feel a chill in her heart.

She forced a laugh, turned her head to look out at the clouds outside, and thought she finally understood what it meant to be caught with no escape.

"...Oh, it’s President Xavier, long time no see indeed. Where are you heading?" Jasmine responded with forced bravery.

Faye smiled and said, "Calling me ’President Xavier’ sounds so distant. It’s smoother to call me ’Brother Faye’."

Jasmine forced a laugh, her mind spinning rapidly but unable to come up with any ideas.

She really didn’t know if it was her bad luck or this guy had long had his eyes on her. She just knew her beautiful trip to Serephina was no longer going to be beautiful.

"Where are you heading alone?" Faye casually chatted with Jasmine, but the more he acted familiar, the more pressure Jasmine felt inside.

"...Just out for a little trip."

Faye looked at Jasmine with a smile, but to Jasmine, his smile was hiding countless daggers, "swish, swish," flying wildly in front of her.

Faye: "Is it a little trip or are you avoiding someone?"

Jasmine gave a guilty laugh, "Avoid? Who would I be avoiding?"

Faye: "Good if you’re not avoiding. Then why did you block all my contacts?"

Jasmine immediately came up with an excuse: "Block? I don’t know, it wasn’t me... I lost my phone! It must have been the bastard who stole my phone! I lost so many contacts! It pisses me off! If I catch him, I’ll skin him alive!"

This act was flawless enough to leave Faye with nothing to critique, but of course, he didn’t believe Jasmine’s nonsense and simply smiled as he asked, "Then why haven’t you come looking for me these days?"

"I’ve been busy these days! My dad passed away, I had to handle the funeral all by myself, you know..."

Faye ruthlessly interrupted Jasmine, saying, "How do I remember you saying you were an orphan when we first met?"

Jasmine paused, then quickly said, "My godfather, my godfather passed away. He had no children, it was so tragic. As his goddaughter, I couldn’t even handle his funeral, right? Don’t you think so, President Xavier?"

Faye: "Which word out of your mouth can be trusted?"

Jasmine: "Every word is true, President Xavier, why don’t you believe me?"

Faye put away his smile, no longer listening to her nonsense, and asked, "Where’s the money?"

Jasmine looked baffled, staring at Faye and asked, "Money? What money?"

As she spoke, Jasmine instinctively tightened her grip on the black backpack in her arms.

Faye: "Don’t play dumb, believe it or not, I’ll have the police arrest you as soon as the plane lands?"

Jasmine laughed, suddenly pretending to have realized something and said, "Oh! You mean that card, President Xavier? I really have no idea about the money in the card. I put it in the bag, both the card and the phone were in there, they got stolen together."

Faye lowered his gaze to look at the backpack in Jasmine’s arms, clearly understanding something, and without a word, reached out to grab Jasmine’s backpack. Jasmine instinctively shifted the bag to her side, watching Faye with a guarded expression.

Her movements only confirmed Faye’s suspicions further, and he intensified his tone as if issuing a command that was not to be defied: "Hand it over!"

Jasmine swallowed a gulp, weakly asserting, "This is my personal property!"

Faye immediately pressed on: "What’s in it?"

Jasmine: "Privacy stuff, you’re not the police, why ask so much?"

Faye let out a snort of laughter: "Alright, then I’ll have the police ask you as soon as we get off the plane."

Jasmine started to feel nervous too, before she’d just conned some money for luxury goods, she could brush it off as a token of affection between lovers. But this million wasn’t a trivial amount, and besides, Faye was someone close to Shane Warner. If this went to court, even with the best legal team, she feared she’d be at a disadvantage.

If this million was truly judged as fraud, she had no idea how many years she’d have to spend in prison.

But seeing the prize was so close in hand yet having to give it away, she felt reluctant.

Jasmine decided to change tactics, still wanting to struggle a bit, maybe say a few sweet words, and this fool with too much money might just let her off?

"Brother Faye~" Jasmine whined while tugging on Faye’s sleeve, acting coquettishly, "You promised to buy me a car, are you now trying to back out?"

Faye furrowed his brow, pulling her hand off: "You know very well what my promise was conditional on, and you know very well what you did that night."

"What did I do? I..."

"Speak properly, who are you trying to disgust with that voice?"

Jasmine rolled her eyes, muttering, "Who knew you used to like it this way."

Faye straightened his clothes, sitting up, and said: "I don’t have time for your nonsense. Now I’ll give you three options. First, repay the money, the over one million on the card, plus the costs for repairing my car, I won’t count the things I bought you before, let’s just call it two million in total."

"Scratched car? Who scratched your car?! Don’t falsely accuse people!"

"I have still have the parking lot surveillance video on my phone, I’ll send it to you when we get off the plane."

Hearing this, Jasmine immediately chickened out, quickly coming up with an excuse: "It must be a mistake! Did I get the wrong car? What’s the color of your car, President Xavier? I must’ve been drunk that day! Had a cold, feverish, fuzzy brain!"

Faye realized Jasmine’s mouth could spin tales better than his, so he stopped listening to Jasmine’s arguments and continued: "Second, we’ll report it to the police when we get off the plane, two million should be enough to keep you in jail until you’re past your prime."

Jasmine immediately grabbed Faye’s arm, smiling ingratiatingly: "Come on, brother, let’s talk this over. Didn’t you just say there were three choices? What’s the third one?"

Faye tugged at the corner of his mouth, smiled, and unexpectedly leaned closer to Jasmine, who instinctively shifted closer to the window, listening as Faye said lasciviously, "The third choice... is to finish what we didn’t do that night, and then record a video sincerely apologizing to me, and this matter will be written off." 𝓯𝙧𝓮𝓮𝒘𝓮𝙗𝙣𝒐𝒗𝒆𝓵.𝓬𝓸𝒎

Jasmine’s eyes darted around, smiling as she agreed, "That’s easy! So it’s decided!"

Faye gritted his teeth with a smile, moved closer to threaten her, "This is the last chance I’m giving you, try any tricks again and I won’t let you go!"

Jasmine nodded repeatedly, smiled, and said, "Whatever President Xavier says, goes. I listen to President Xavier in everything."

She decided to use this delaying tactic, at least during the ten or so hours on the plane, she could think of a way.

She thought that so many days had passed, Faye would have long had a new affair and forgotten about her. After all, one million wasn’t a significant sum to him, she really didn’t expect this guy to hold such a grudge.
