The Rogue Alpha's Second Chance-Chapter 89: Beg Me
Violet smiled in satisfaction, watering the little plants she took care of. They were Lucas’s responsibility, but seeing how she enjoyed playing with them, Lucas handed them over to her.
As she lifted her head, the bright light hit her eyes. With her bulging stomach, she had a hard time maintaining her balance. Her feet tripped, and she was about to fall back when a pair of hands stabilized her.
She turned her head and smiled at Sylas.
"Alpha, I knew I could count on you!" she exclaimed.
"Weren’t you told to stay inside? You would have gotten injured badly if you fell back now," Sylas helplessly informed.
Violet smiled.
"I can stay inside if you accompany me," she expressed. Following that, she scrunched up her nose and stated, "But you’re busy all the time. That’s why, I was bored."
"Aren’t you full of excuses?" Sylas asked.
"Do you like it, Alpha?" Violet asked.
"Don’t force me to beat you up," Sylas uttered, "Lucas already prepared lunch. Come in."
As Sylas entered the house, Violet followed him. Grabbing his hand, she rested her head against his arm and said, "Alpha, you can’t bear to hurt me. After all, I am so cute."
Stella rolled her eyes and remarked, "Get yourself a room. Stop polluting the public area."
Violet struck out her tongue at her. "You’re just jealous."
Stella laughed. "What am I jealous of? Your one-sided love or the fact that the Alpha treats you like a child. He is definitely not attracted to you."
Violet glared at her before turning her eyes to Sylas.
"Alpha, do you find me attractive? Will you sleep with me? Well, if I wasn’t pregnant?" Violet urged.
Lucas choked in shock and began to cough.
Sylas guided her over to the table and pulled the chair behind for her, letting her sit down.
As Sylas was about to walk away, she grabbed the sleeve of his shirt and confidently said, "I could totally seduce you if I wasn’t pregnant now, Alpha. Absolutely."
Lucas picked up a piece of chicken with the fork and placed it inside her mouth, preventing her from chattering.
"Eat. I cooked your favorite barbecue chicken," said Lucas.
As Lydia sat back on her chair, she voiced out, "I am on Violet’s side on this."
Violet grinned at Lydia. "You know I love you the most."
"Don’t you love everyone," Stella commented sarcastically.
Gabrielle spoke up, "I investigated Alpha James death, but nothing can be traced no matter how deep I look.
However, there is something strange about his death. Although an attack has been made on him, it isn’t fatal enough to kill an Alpha like him.
His blood appears to be clear of poison as well. The autopsy shows all of his vitality has been drained. This matches the result of back then. Do you think this is his doing, Alpha?"
"What about Mathew?" questioned Sylas.
"He is more powerful than before. All the pack members are scared of him, and his temper has gotten more volatile," Gabrielle stated.
"It is indeed him." Sylas frowned.
Noticing the tense atmosphere rising in the room, Violet looked around in confusion. She asked, "Who could it be?"
"Charles," Lydia enunciated, "That’s him, right?"
"But he was dead, wasn’t he? Could it be that someone was practicing his techniques?" Lucas questioned.
"His body wasn’t found back then," Sylas said, "All this time he was looking for a chance to attack."
"This doesn’t make sense. Why would he choose Mathew or such a small pack? There is nothing special about it," Lucas stated, "what does he want now?"
Sylas responded, "I am trying to figure that out."
Lucas clenched tightly on to the fork. His eyes burned with rage. "If he is back, I will get rid of him then. This time I will personally chop his body to multiple pieces."
By the time the lunch was over, Violet wasn’t able to get any details. Stella was handed the duty of doing the dishes. Entering the kitchen, Violet stood beside her.
She asked, "Who is Charles?"
"Want to know?" Stella flicked her hand. A foamy bubble fell on her nose.
She frowned, wiping the bubble away. Then, she nodded.
An evil smile emerged on her face. "Beg me."
Violet scoffed. "I can ask Lucas or Lydia."
"Look at you. Who acts so arrogantly when asking for information?" Stella voiced out.
"Are you going to tell me or not?"
"You know, there were lots of power struggles in the previous pack, right?"
Violet nodded.
"Alpha Sylas stood out as the strongest. Even though the previous Alpha was his father, he felt afraid of Alpha’s power and didn’t want to give up his position.
But he was getting older and losing his strength. This is when Charles stepped in. He was an inconspicuous pack member before.
However, he was a fanatic who enjoyed carrying out strange experiments. Previous Alpha saw his talent and employed him. He was tasked to make him stronger.
The entire pack could be his experimental subject if in return he could provide more power to the Alpha. Both sides had what they wanted.
It was Charles who made Alpha to be sent out of the pack, so that Luna Julia would be vulnerable. That way, he made her move on him.
But Luna Julia wasn’t willing to submit to his experiments. Once they became successful, the results would be detrimental. Therefore, in the end, after rescuing all the women he held captive, she took her own life."
Violet’s eyes widened in amazement.
The more she heard about Julia, the more admirable she found the woman to be. However, at the same time, she was pitiful.
She managed to rescue before decisively taking her own life for everyone’s good.
It shouldn’t have been an easy decision, considering how she was pregnant as well.
Not everyone could do this.
"Before Alpha thought Charles perished with the rest when he killed everyone, but it seemed that sly bastard managed to slither away!"
Stella slammed the plate on the sink in rage.
