Mr. Warner, Your Wife is Running Away Again!-Chapter 325: Kiss Me
As soon as he entered the house, Franklin Sutton received several phone calls in a row.
The content of the conversations was probably related to the serial killings during this period.
After Franklin Sutton hung up the phone, Audrey Sutton asked him, "Second brother, it’s been so many days, are there any leads?"
Franklin Sutton put away his phone, walked over to the single sofa beside Audrey Sutton and Laura Yates, sat down, reached for a strawberry from the basket and popped it into his mouth before saying, "Is this little girl here to spy for information?"
Laura Yates said, "Asking him is useless, he hasn’t leaked any information to me, very tight-lipped."
Franklin Sutton smiled and said, "It’s discipline, business is business, personal is personal."
Audrey Sutton pouted and deliberately stirred things up, saying, "I think you just don’t trust my sister-in-law!"
"Shoo, shoo, am I your real brother? Coming here to stir up trouble." Franklin Sutton said, as he pulled out his phone from his pocket, searching for something while saying, "You’ll have to wait for the news briefing for the case details, but we’ve already identified the suspect."
Saying that, Franklin Sutton handed a photo from his phone to the two of them, the big words "Wanted Poster" catching their eye.
Audrey Sutton reached out to take the phone, leaned in with Laura Yates to zoom in on the wanted poster, looked at the man in the photo, and asked Franklin Sutton, "It’s this guy?"
Franklin Sutton said, "Yeah, he’s in hiding, but he’s definitely still in Rivia. He can’t run, as long as he’s alive he’ll slip up. We planned a city-wide manhunt, the posters are ready, but the higher-ups worry about alarming him, making this murderer retaliate, so it’s not widely disclosed yet. You girls shouldn’t wander around aimlessly these days. The apprehension will happen in the next few days."
Laura Yates said, "I was just planning to go shopping with Audrey this afternoon."
Franklin Sutton said, "Wait a few days, it won’t take long. His mother is hospitalized. We have people stationed at the hospital, and as soon as he shows up, he’ll be arrested immediately."
Audrey Sutton stared at the photo, feeling like she had seen the man somewhere before, but he had a common face, leaving no strong impression.
In the afternoon, the shopping idea was dismissed, so Audrey Sutton went to the company with Shane Warner.
In his office, she would draw beside him.
His office was equipped with a full set of digital drawing tools for her, so Audrey Sutton didn’t need to bring anything.
While Audrey Sutton was drawing, her gaze fell on Shane Warner, who was sitting beside her, writing something on paper.
His suit jacket hung on the back of his chair, and he wore a misty blue shirt, sleeves slightly rolled up to his forearms, no tie today, two top buttons undone, looking a bit relaxed.
Audrey Sutton propped her chin, biting her pen, boldly staring at him.
No longer afraid of him noticing her gaze as before, rather she seemed to be waiting for him to notice her looking.
After staring for a good two minutes, Shane Warner, seemingly finished with one document and switching to another, finally noticed Audrey Sutton out of the corner of his eye.
Meeting her gaze, Audrey Sutton bit her pen and smiled at him saying, "Is the document that interesting? I’ve been staring at you, and you only just noticed."
Shane Warner stacked the documents casually aside, asking her, "Are you this distracted in class too, staring at handsome guys?"
Audrey Sutton laughed and replied, "You aren’t in class with me, who would I stare at?"
Shane Warner furrowed his brows, but his lips curved up, finding this girl quite good at flirting.
He turned his chair, creating some distance between him and the desk, raised a hand, lightly patting his thigh, motioning Audrey Sutton to come over.
Audrey Sutton glanced at his leg, naturally understanding his intention, glanced outside the door, and said, "President Warner, keep up your image in the office."
She said so with words, but her eyes were flirtatious, sending signals his way.
Shane Warner believed she was doing it on purpose, knowing in the office he wouldn’t dare to do anything, so she dared boldly to "seduce" him.
Audrey Sutton’s chair was of the same model as the one at home, a wheeled computer chair, Shane Warner extended his long arm, pulling her chair back with ease.
Audrey Sutton didn’t expect the move, the chair moved, her body swayed, quickly grounding the foot placed on the chair, and her hand instinctively grasped the armrest.
"What did you call me?" Shane Warner pulled her to him, face-to-face, leaning in he asked.
Audrey Sutton, who was boldly flirting just a moment ago, saw his handsome face less than two inches away, a blush immediately spread across her cheeks.
But she didn’t feel too shy, not knowing why she blushed, it was like an instinctual reaction to his proximity, her heart in disarray, her mind blank, not knowing what she was thinking, nor what to do.
Shane Warner wrapped an arm around her slim waist, lifted her to his lap, as Audrey Sutton hung her head, her tiptoes trying to stand up, yet his arms firmly held her waist from behind, he asked, whispering near her ear, "Do you think I wouldn’t dare do anything here? Daring to play with fire carelessly?"
Audrey Sutton did think that way.
She tried to pry his hand off her waist, "Let go of me, someone might see."
"We are lawfully wedded, so what if they see? It’s nothing scandalous."
"Mind your image, will you? Let go quickly."
Shane Warner, seemingly playful, did not let go, rotating her into a suggestive position, straddling him, the chair nudged forward, her back against the desk’s edge, closing in, face serious, speaking earnestly, "Kiss me."
Audrey Sutton turned her head, avoiding him, clearly anxious, "Stop messing around! Someone might come in!"
Shane Warner insisted, urging, "Hurry."
Hearing movement outside, Audrey Sutton turned, witnessing a shadow through the frosted glass, seemingly moving toward them.
She wasn’t sure if they were coming to the office, but she feared they were.
Shane Warner may not care, but she did, afraid his employees would see, it spreading through the company, she’d never have the face to come find him here again.
Seeing the shadow approaching outside, Audrey Sutton quickly pecked Shane Warner on the left cheek.
After that, she supported herself, trying to get down, yet Shane Warner, dissatisfied, frowned, "That’s it?"
Hearing footsteps nearing, realizing they were coming to the office, Audrey Sutton anxiously pushed him, "Let go, someone’s coming in!"
Just as the words left her mouth, there was a knock on the door, "Knock, knock—"
Audrey Sutton thought Shane Warner would restrain himself, but who knew he didn’t release her, as calm as ever, answering without hesitation, "Come in."
