Mr. Warner, Your Wife is Running Away Again!-Chapter 326: Can’t Handle the Game?
The next second, Audrey Sutton heard the office door being pushed open. She glared angrily at Shane Warner, but he still wouldn’t let go.
The visitor was Lucian Quinn, holding a stack of documents. When he saw the scene inside the room, he froze at the doorway.
Unexpected, but he quickly regained his composure. Unlike Faye Xavier and Morgan Quinn’s gossiping, Lucian Quinn said nothing and asked nothing. He hesitated whether to continue walking forward or go back out and close the door.
In that moment of indecision, Shane Warner spoke up: "Just leave the documents."
Audrey Sutton blushed, embarrassed, burying her face in Shane Warner’s shoulder. Shane Warner naturally held her head, as if he were cradling a three-year-old girl.
Hearing Morgan Quinn’s footsteps approaching the desk, if possible, Audrey Sutton would rather crawl under the desk.
"The documents from the development zone are still with Vincent Warner; I’ll send them over to you later," Lucian Quinn said, poker-faced.
Shane Warner responded with a soft "Ok," and Morgan Quinn turned around and walked away.
Audrey Sutton couldn’t tell if Shane Warner had strong mental composure or Lucian Quinn even stronger.
After Lucian Quinn left, Audrey Sutton irritably punched him lightly, not too hard but hard enough to show she was genuinely upset.
Shane Warner smiled at her, pinching her waist, "Can’t handle it? You were the one who seduced me first."
"Don’t take advantage and act innocent! Let go!"
Shane Warner teased her, "What if I don’t?"
Audrey Sutton angrily looked at him, wriggling, realizing she was no match for his strength.
She buried her head and bit his arm. Shane Warner frowned but still didn’t release her: "Are you truly that ruthless?"
Audrey Sutton let go, lifted her head and looked at him, then glanced at the drool mark on his shirt sleeve. She changed her strategy, relaxed, and started playing with his shirt buttons: "Fine, just hold me. I’m free anyway."
Saying that, she grabbed his phone from the desk, intending to play games.
She unlocked the screen and found it had a password, so she turned to him and asked, "What’s the password?"
"Guess it yourself."
Audrey Sutton snorted, unwilling to argue. She grabbed his hand, pressing his thumb on the fingerprint scanner to unlock it successfully.
She thought this would provoke Shane Warner into letting her go, but he genuinely didn’t let go, and instead his hand grew more restless.
Audrey Sutton quickly pressed down on her skirt’s hem, incredulous: "Are you crazy?!"
He replied flatly, "You play your game; I’ll play mine."
Audrey Sutton rolled her eyes: "Aren’t you afraid the whole company will know you’re a desperate old man!"
Shane Warner: "?"
"Let go!"
Shane Warner asked coldly, "You think I’m a desperate old man?"
"Isn’t that what you’re doing?"
"Alright then." Shane Warner lightly responded, lifting Audrey Sutton up quickly, "If you say so."
"What are you doing?! Put me down!"
When Shane Warner let her down, it was on the resting room bed.
He truly threw her onto the bed. Her body bounced on the mattress, she then climbed up and saw him hastily undoing his shirt buttons.
Audrey Sutton saw he was serious and urgently said, "My relative came."
Shane Warner paused his button undoing, sneered in disbelief: "I need to verify."
"It’s true!"
Clearly not believing her, Shane Warner dragged her by the ankle, pulling her over, reached out to touch, and his face instantly darkened.
Audrey Sutton kicked him away, tidied her skirt: "I told you, but you didn’t believe me. It started this morning."
"Weren’t you always in pain? Why didn’t you make a fuss today?"
Audrey Sutton: "I think the sugar water you gave worked; it’s not hurting badly."
Shane Warner angrily redressed his shirt, turned around, slammed the door, and walked out.
Audrey Sutton, for some reason, felt quite amused, as if she had instantly won a battle.
She leisurely arranged her skirt and left to see him sitting with a gloomy face at his desk reviewing documents. When he heard her coming out, he didn’t even glance up.
Audrey Sutton went to her seat to get her phone on the desk, "I’m going downstairs to get bubble tea, do you want some?"
Shane Warner pretended not to hear, writing on paper without responding to her. 𝚏𝗿𝗲𝐞𝐰𝚎𝕓𝐧𝚘𝘃𝗲𝐥.𝐜𝚘𝕞
Audrey Sutton pouted, slung her bag, and went downstairs.
The bubble tea shop was across the company, just a crosswalk away.
When Audrey Sutton went down, the green light had just ended, starting the sixty-second countdown for the red light.
There were several people waiting to cross, likely employees from nearby offices based on their attire.
Audrey Sutton stood by the curb, looking at her phone, and suddenly received a delivery code notification.
She checked the delivery company’s name, thinking she hadn’t ordered anything from them recently. Further investigation revealed it was a local delivery, from Rivia to Rivia, making it unclear who sent it.
Most people she knew were nearby; no one would use delivery for communication with her, piquing her curiosity about who sent and what was sent.
Red light countdown ended; Audrey Sutton put away her phone, following the crowd across the street, directly entering the bubble tea shop.
Sitting inside to wait for the bubble tea, she suddenly saw a man with a baseball cap walking by outside. Initially indifferent, she noticed him glance at her.
Meeting eyes startled Audrey Sutton; however, the man quickly averted his gaze, rapidly passing outside.
Audrey Sutton felt unnerved; his gaze didn’t seem like a random stranger but felt like he was specifically watching her.
Moreover, given the weather, most people wore short sleeves. Rarely did anyone wear long sleeves and a cap pulled low, giving off a suspicious vibe.
She couldn’t resist stepping outside to look, but the man had vanished.
"Miss, your bubble tea is ready."
Audrey Sutton returned inside, took her bubble tea.
She glanced around as she left, feeling uneasy.
She quickly returned to the company, pushed the office door open: "I think someone’s tailing me."
Initially ignoring her, Shane Warner lifted his head upon hearing this, frowning slightly: "What happened?"
