Mr. Warner, Your Wife is Running Away Again!-Chapter 300: Nolan Hawke’s Birthday

"I don’t believe it!" Audrey Sutton shook off his hand, a bit annoyed, "Can you joke about something like this?! I was really scared to death!"

Shane Warner smiled, pulling her hand over and letting her sit on his lap, soothing the agitated little kitten this time, "It was all Faye’s idea, I’ve already taught him a lesson."

Nolan Hawke’s birthday was this weekend, and Barry Barrett kept urging Audrey Sutton to quickly draw a couple’s profile picture for them.

Audrey Sutton’s new comic was scheduled to be released around May Day, but so far only a rough outline of the story was done, and the character sketches weren’t finished yet.

After completing the line drawing, the final coloring work was done by Audrey Sutton at school.

By Friday, she sent the picture to Barry Barrett, who also invited them to Nolan Hawke’s birthday party on Sunday.

Barry Barrett said Nolan Hawke invited quite a number of people, but she didn’t know any of them, so she called a few dormitory sisters so at least there’d be someone to talk to.

Audrey Sutton went back and honestly told Shane Warner about it. Originally, she wanted Shane Warner to come along, but he had a dinner appointment on Sunday night.

Around three in the afternoon, Audrey Sutton went to the school dormitory, got dressed up with her dormitory sisters, and by five, Nolan Hawke sent a car to pick them up from school.

The party was held at a coastal vacation villa, and when they arrived, it was already bustling by the pool in front of the villa, with quite a few men and women playing in the water.

Barry Barrett looked on enviably, "Oh man, if we’d known there’d be a pool, we would’ve brought our swimsuits."

Flora Lane gave her a sidelong glance, "Bring a hammer, it’s freezing."

Despite the coarse words, she walked gracefully in high heels, scanning the poolside like a noble queen surveying her subjects.

The appearance of the four sisters instantly attracted quite a bit of attention.

After Audrey Sutton’s photo series went viral online, her current fame could be considered that of a small internet celebrity.

Plus, she was Shane Warner’s wife, and it seemed many didn’t expect her to be there.

Barry Barrett, as Nolan Hawke’s girlfriend, wasn’t known to many people because Nolan Hawke never brought Barry Barrett to hang out with his friends, nor had he officially announced their boyfriend-girlfriend relationship to the public.

The awkwardness began on the car ride over, where the few of them were speculating if Nolan Hawke might seize the chance today to propose to Barry Barrett.

Barry Barrett verbally denied such a notion, but she was clearly looking forward to such a surprise.

Right now, she’s just waiting for a commitment from Nolan Hawke; as long as he proposes, she’s ready to get married.

Audrey Sutton was wearing a black long dress, with long sleeves and a small square neckline, chosen by Shane Warner.

Conservative as it was, covering every inch, the dress had a nice cut, and it was indeed very beautiful.

With his arm around Barry Barrett, he smiled and said to the gentleman in front of him, "This is my girlfriend, you can just call her Bear."

Barry Barrett blushed slightly, smiling demurely and respectfully at the gentleman in front of her.

She was happy that Nolan Hawke formally introduced her to outsiders for the first time.

"This is my cousin," Nolan Hawke pointed to the gentleman and told Barry Barrett.

Barry Barrett paused, giving a dry laugh, "...Hello, Brother."

His cousin nodded in satisfaction, "Now uncle and aunt can be at ease, the young girl seems pretty nice."

After exchanging a few pleasantries at the door, Nolan Hawke, who had many guests to attend to, asked Barry Barrett to take Audrey Sutton and the others inside first.

After Nolan Hawke’s introduction, Barry Barrett no longer considered herself a guest, taking on the air of a generous hostess as she led Audrey Sutton and the others into the villa.

Seraphina Vaughn and Flora Lane teased Barry Barrett, saying she might meet the parents tonight, which made Barry Barrett nervous, afraid Nolan Hawke’s family wouldn’t like her.

Barry Barrett just chuckled and explained, "Brother Hawke and Clarissa Morgan have worked together many times; they’re sort of half friends, and many people invited today have worked with Brother Hawke in the entertainment circle."

Audrey Sutton wasn’t too surprised, since Clarissa Morgan also invited Nolan Hawke to her birthday.

Flora Lane: "Audrey, be careful tonight. I still don’t know what’s going on with what I overheard in the toilet the other day, and your husband’s not here tonight, better to be cautious."

Audrey Sutton nodded, thoughtfully gazing in the direction where Clarissa Morgan was.
