Mr. Warner, Your Wife is Running Away Again!-Chapter 295: Let Her Go
The brother in front paused and said, "Brother Faye, didn’t you say we should act more realistically? Since when do kidnappers comfort hostages?"
Faye Xavier took a deep breath, discarded the cigarette in his hand, and stepped into the room.
He thought to himself that Audrey Sutton seemed like a Little Monk in the car earlier, amusing them to the point where they wanted to laugh but had to hold back, showing a great attitude.
But he hadn’t expected her to be crying so sadly just a moment later, the cloth covering her eyes had even become wet.
Faye thought anxiously about a solution, when suddenly Morgan Quinn beckoned urgently from outside.
"Here he comes! Should we let Little Crew Cut go meet him? Master Shane hasn’t met Little Crew Cut."
"Can Little Crew Cut’s build take a punch from Master Shane? Better call a few more brothers over, I’m worried Master Shane might cause trouble if there are too few people."
Morgan Quinn nodded, "So should we make ourselves scarce then?"
"If you’re not afraid of getting hit, stay and guard." Faye said and quickly slipped into the car to hide.
The few brothers hesitated nervously, only daring to go to the dock to meet Shane Warner together for courage.
Shane Warner indeed arrived alone, standing fearlessly at the dock watching them approach.
"The Third Young Master certainly keeps his word, come with us." The leading Little Crew Cut exuded a thug-like aura, portraying a villainous role well.
Shane Warner surveyed his surroundings and followed Little Crew Cut forward.
This was an old abandoned dock, filled with many discarded containers and scrapped vehicles, rusting and messy.
Under Little Crew Cut’s lead, they arrived at a specially modified container.
Before entering the container, Shane Warner glanced at an abandoned vehicle parked not far away.
Little Crew Cut stood by the door, gesturing for Shane Warner to enter.
Shane Warner examined the person by the door for a moment, unsure if there was an ambush or if this group wasn’t as formidable as he thought, as he didn’t see any weapons.
Not a gun, not even a baseball bat was visible.
He walked slowly into the room, immediately spotting the woman in a white dress tied to a metal chair.
The hem of the dress had been dirtied by the chair’s rust, its color slightly jarring but still better looking than bloodstains.
Besides crying, she seemed to have no obvious injuries, which allowed Shane Warner to breathe a sigh of relief.
Prominently seated on a painted wooden bench was a slightly overweight man in a floral shirt and gold necklace.
"Ahem—" The man pretentiously coughed, mocking Shane Warner with a smile, "The Third Young Master truly has courage and integrity, risking so much for a woman, daring to venture alone into a tiger’s den."
Upon hearing the man’s words, Audrey Sutton realized Shane Warner was here, urgently speaking out, "Hubby? Is that you?"
Her voice quivered intensely, probably due to crying, sounding somewhat hoarse.
Hearing her voice filled with panic and helplessness, Shane Warner’s heart ached, and he took a step towards her.
The man with the gold chain stomped his cane forcefully, "Stop!"
Shane Warner halted and looked at the man, while Audrey Sutton, evidently scared by the shout, stopped crying and bit her lip tightly, not daring to make a sound.
"Name your price, but I have to take her with me." Shane Warner’s voice rang out neither too lightly nor too heavily.
Upon hearing his voice, Audrey Sutton’s tears flowed even more urgently.
"Price? The man with the gold chain scoffed, "Negotiating price with the Third Young Master, I’ll have to think carefully."
"Release her first."
The man with the gold chain sneered, "What if only one of you can leave here alive today?"
Without hesitation, Shane Warner said calmly, "Let her go."
Upon hearing those three words, Audrey Sutton suddenly felt guilty for the things she said in the car earlier.
At that moment, she also decided that she wanted to spend the rest of her life with this man.
But... would they even have a rest of their lives together?
"Clap clap—" The man with the gold chain clapped twice, "The Third Young Master certainly has courage, these love-crazed people are truly admirable. But I must ask the Third Madam’s opinion."
Speaking thus, the man with the gold chain turned to Audrey Sutton, using the cane in his hand to knock on her chair leg from afar, creating two clangs before saying, "Third Madam, tell me, who’s better to stay?"
Audrey Sutton swallowed, already terrified and unable to calm her mind, unlike Shane Warner, so she naturally couldn’t say "Let him go" like Shane Warner just did.
Because she was really scared.
And she couldn’t selfishly say "Let him stay" either.
The slanderous talk she uttered wishing he would die earlier in the car was just nonsense meant to persuade the criminals, how could she bear to let him die? 𝐟𝕣𝕖𝐞𝐰𝕖𝚋𝐧𝗼𝚟𝐞𝕝.𝗰𝐨𝐦
"You should just kill both of us."
Such a response surprised everyone present.
She said it with a desperate look, but the tremble in her tone suggested how much courage it took her to say that in her intense fear.
"Haha, what pitiful love birds." The man with the gold chain laughed wildly, with a faint trace of embarrassment in his smile, signaling to his brothers that he couldn’t keep up the act.
"Bang—" The container’s metal wall was hit with a heavy blow, creating a loud noise, "Drop your weapons, don’t move!"
Shane Warner turned his head to see Faye Xavier, holding an iron rod, his brows furrowed in confusion.
Faye Xavier signaled to the brothers inside, and they started acting like martial arts performers on TV, even though they were on the same side, now they seemed to be fighting against each other.
Of course, it was just for show, as they made realistic cries of pain.
Blindfolded Audrey Sutton thought the situation was dire, urgently calling out, "Shane Warner?! Shane Warner are you alright?!"
Shane Warner watched Morgan Quinn walk up to him, smiling flatteringly, holding a fake blood pack, and whispered to Shane Warner, "Apologies, Master Shane."
In the next second, red blood stained Shane Warner’s white shirt.
Faye Xavier threw away the iron rod and took out some pre-prepared special effect scar stickers, sticking them on Shane Warner’s face. Seeing Shane Warner’s displeased expression, he smiled and whispered, "Happy April Fool’s, Master Shane."
Morgan Quinn also splattered the fake blood onto the ground, creating a bloody aftermath of a fight.
Unaware of the situation, Audrey Sutton fearfully called Shane Warner’s name, the lack of response making her very uneasy.
After making sure the scene was foolproof, Faye Xavier chuckled as he addressed Shane Warner, "Master Shane, time for you to play the hero rescuing the beauty."
Shane Warner truly wanted to first punch Faye Xavier, but at this moment he was clearly forced to become part of this drama, and more important than hitting Faye Xavier was comforting Audrey Sutton.
