Chapter 262: Chapter 262: Lighter

In order to make more time to play in the amusement park, Audrey Sutton decided not to cook at home.

After booking a meal package on her phone, she immediately went to her room to change clothes and get ready.

She stepped out the door at ten thirty.

Young Master Warner had arranged a dedicated chauffeur to take her to Starfield.

She sent Shane Warner a message while in the car and learned he might not finish his meeting until at least eleven.

So, instead of heading straight into the company to find people, Audrey went to the milk tea shop opposite the company.

Since Shane Warner left Starfield, she seldom came here, but she couldn’t forget the milk tea of this shop.

Because the area mainly consists of office buildings, most consumers are office workers, and at this hour, they haven’t finished work yet. The milk tea shop was not crowded, and Audrey got her milk tea after waiting only for a few minutes.

While standing by the sidewalk waiting for the traffic light, she spotted a familiar car slowly driving by.

The car windows were tightly closed; it moved straight ahead with the green light without stopping. Audrey couldn’t see who was inside the car.

She only remembered that the day when she accompanied Barry Barrett to meet Nolan Hawke for the first time, Nolan was driving a black Bentley car.

However, in Rivia, black Bentley cars are pretty common, and Audrey didn’t remember the license plate, so she was not sure if the car just passing by was Nolan Hawke’s.

After having a photo shoot with Barry Barrett the last time, Nolan Hawke and Barry Barrett’s girlfriend-boyfriend relationship was confirmed.

Often Nolan Hawke could be seen coming to school to pick up Barry Barrett, and the two would occasionally go out for meals or dates. Their relationship was relatively stable.

Barry Barrett used to say Audrey Sutton was prioritizing romance over friendship, but now he himself has started to drift away from the group.

Audrey Sutton didn’t dwell on it; seeing the light turn green on the pedestrian side opposite, she lifted her foot and walked over.

From afar, she saw Shane Warner coming out of the company, standing at the porch of the main entrance and talking with Morgan Quinn next to him.

However, during the conversation, his eyes started to roam around until they landed on Audrey Sutton, who was crossing the road.

Audrey also noticed him, smiled at him, and quickened her pace, running towards him.

As Audrey Sutton got closer, Shane Warner’s first words were to reprimand her: "Buying these things to eat again."

"I rarely come, so of course I have to buy it. Look, I even got you a cup."

Shane Warner glanced at it but didn’t reach out to take it, clearly not wanting it.

Audrey Sutton knew he wasn’t just being high-maintenance; he genuinely didn’t like the high-calorie, overly sweet stuff.

Every time she bought two cups, it wasn’t with real intention to give him; she knew he’d generally take a sip, and the remaining majority of the cup would still belong to her.

Seeing Morgan Quinn beside them, Audrey started being polite: "Quinn, do you want some?"

Morgan Quinn wanted to drink, but glanced at Shane Warner, clearly afraid Master Shane might get jealous.

Audrey thought Morgan Quinn assumed this cup was for Shane Warner and said: "Don’t mind him, he won’t drink, we can buy another one later if needed."

Morgan Quinn chuckled, reached to take the cup from Audrey Sutton, and said: "Then I won’t be polite, thank you, sis."

He must have been thirsty—Morgan Quinn and Faye Xavier did enjoy eating. They were quite fond of the milk tea shop across the company, so as soon as he took it, he brought the cup to his lips.

But before the straw touched his lips, Morgan Quinn caught Shane Warner’s gaze.

He was startled, immediately pulling the cup away from his lips, awkwardly laughed and handed it over to Shane Warner, asking: "Master Shane, do you want some?"

Just then, the chauffeur drove over, stopping at the porch.

Shane Warner didn’t acknowledge Morgan Quinn, nor did he pay attention to Audrey Sutton, instead stepping into the car on his own.

Audrey Sutton didn’t know where he was going but immediately reacted, quickly following him inside, and Morgan Quinn also opened the passenger seat door and got in.

Once the car turned around onto the road, Audrey Sutton asked Shane Warner beside her: "Where are we going?"

Shane Warner looked down at his phone, without responding.

However, Morgan Quinn, sitting in the front passenger seat, cheerfully answered: "Master Shane mentioned accompanying you to the amusement park this afternoon, and I’m off to the notary office to handle some matters, just happened to be on the way, dropping me off."

Audrey Sutton then understood with an "oh", genuinely surprised Shane Warner would tell his buddies about accompanying her to the amusement park.

This stirred a curiosity in her, wondering how he talked about her to others when she wasn’t around.

"Sis, what’s the name of this milk tea? Seems like I haven’t had it before."

"Good, right? It’s a new product released today. I thought I’d try it since I happened to catch it."

"Anything sis buys must be good." Morgan Quinn glanced at Shane Warner sitting behind him and deliberately said: "Some people don’t know when they’re lucky; not even drinking such tasty milk tea."

The "some people" mentioned included everyone in the car, even the chauffeur, knowing it referred to Shane.

Audrey Sutton, nibbling on the milk tea, looked at the "certain person" sitting beside her, saw his stiff expression, and dared not join Morgan Quinn in jest.

She wouldn’t want a perfectly nice afternoon at the amusement park to be ruined by Shane Warner giving her a hard time because of some playful teasing.

Morgan Quinn seemed to fear no chaos: "Master Shane, you might give us a hard time usually, but with the little sis here, you’re still putting up airs; aren’t you afraid she’ll run off with someone else?"

Audrey Sutton felt a shock at hearing this, daring to provoke Shane Warner when he was already looking tense, giving Morgan Quinn a cold sweat.

She cautiously glanced at Shane Warner’s expression, awkwardly smiling, unsure how to respond.

Fortunately, they reached the notary office soon, and Morgan Quinn, this ticking time bomb, finally got out of the car.

He left swiftly after throwing the bomb, leaving Audrey Sutton to handle the situation.

Seeing Shane Warner’s stern face from start to finish, Audrey Sutton had to think for a while to find a topic: "Is there anything particular you want to try? I can check which entrance to go through."

Shane Warner: "Anything."

An amusement park—last time he went was five years old, with his brother.

Only that once.

Later, he didn’t have time to go, nor did he find it interesting.

So his "anything" wasn’t out of moodiness but rather genuinely "anything."

He was simply here to accompany her.

Audrey Sutton thought he answered that way due to being upset, so she pursed her lips, didn’t dare mumble anything facing him, and looked at the play guide on her phone.

Then the chauffeur driver spoke up: "I took my child to this amusement park a few days ago. If you enter from the west gate, it’s closer to the kids’ zone. For you guys, I’ll drop you off at the east gate, where there are more adult rides, and several popular ones are over there."
