Chapter 195: Chapter 195: Too Bad He’s an Idiot

Audrey found a chair in the lounge to sit down, took a sip of the already cold milk tea, and replied to Shane’s message: You sent the big troop here, how could it possibly be quiet?

She thought he might be in a meeting and wouldn’t reply so quickly, but as soon as she sent her message, it showed he was typing. Shortly after, his reply popped up: You figured it out?

Audrey couldn’t help but roll her eyes at the screen: How could I not? A whole bunch of people crowding around, anyone unaware might think it’s some mysterious organization!

Shane: Didn’t I ask Faye to keep an eye out?

Audrey: Are you blaming Brother Xavier for not being attentive enough? I thought you were a pretty smart person usually, how did you come up with this scheme? What if you ruin my reputation?

Shane: Then you’re already my wife, Audrey Warner, your reputation reflects on me as well. I’m not afraid, why should you be?

Audrey looked at his phrase "you’re already my wife, Audrey Warner," feeling a bit of dominance in it, smiled at her phone screen, but replied: You just don’t believe in my ability; today I’ve got tons of fans myself!

Shane: Who was the one worried about having no fans and feeling embarrassed the other day?

Audrey pouted and kept silent, even though she didn’t agree with such fake actions, Shane’s intentions were indeed considerate.

If barely anyone showed up at her table today, the fake fans he sent would be her saviors.

If her sales didn’t look good, others might not say anything, but Crystal would surely come over with some mocking remarks.

Just thinking about it was annoying.

"Audrey, your table seems quite lively today." Jasper’s voice sounded from behind.

Audrey turned to glance at Jasper, teasing him with a smile: "Can’t compare with Master Jasper though."

"My first signing was nothing like this. You’re definitely going to be a big hit in the future."

"You’re showering me with praise right off the bat, seems like you have a hidden agenda coming to find me."

Jasper: "Heh... Vanessa’s coming today too, right? I’m shy to approach her, just wanted to ask how she’s been lately."

"Actually, Vanessa doesn’t dislike you. It’s just that her brother is strict, thinks she’s too young, and doesn’t like her having contact with the opposite sex, so she hasn’t been in touch. Don’t overthink it."

"Ah, I knew it, age is the real issue. I guess I shouldn’t daydream, or I wouldn’t be in this situation, too scared to even meet."

No soon had Jasper finished speaking when Audrey saw Vanessa and Laura chatting while walking in.

Audrey used eye contact to hint at Jasper, and his eyes lit up instantly when he saw Vanessa.

Audrey waved at them, and Laura and Vanessa walked straight over.

After Laura sat down, she said: "Audrey, you deserve applause today, it’s doing much better than we expected."

Audrey just smiled, not daring to mention Shane had called in a big group of people.

Jasper and Vanessa both looked a bit awkward seeing each other. Laura, unaware of Jasper’s interest in Vanessa, said: "Vanessa and Jasper’s sales broke new records today, Mr. Shaw is over the moon, and has already reserved at the restaurant, so let’s go for lunch together later."

Jasper was smiling, and before he had a chance to accept, Vanessa said: "I may not be able to join, I need to head back soon, enjoy yourselves."

Laura asked puzzled: "Vanessa, why are you always so busy?"

Because Vanessa rarely joined any gatherings in the past.

This is one of the reasons why Master Hylan remains mysterious in everyone’s eyes.

Vanessa didn’t specify the reason, just mentioned she had something to do.

She didn’t talk much before she received a call and left.

Seeing the change in Vanessa’s face when she received the call, it was likely from Miles.

Audrey felt a bit worried about Vanessa’s situation but thought it was their family affair, unsure of how to help her.

Shane arrived at the airport at two in the afternoon, and after Audrey and her colleagues finished lunch, it was already past one. She took a taxi straight to the airport, but ran into a traffic jam on the way. While still halfway there, Shane sent a message saying he had already arrived.

After more than ten minutes in traffic, Audrey rushed to the airport exit and immediately saw Shane standing alone by the door.

Same as always, no expression on his face.

Seeing Audrey running over breathlessly, her nose turned red from the cold, she was panting heavily as she spoke: "Oh, I’m exhausted, the road was so jammed, or I’d be here earlier."

"I wasn’t rushing you, why are you in such a hurry?"

Audrey rolled her eyes and said: "I’m too scared to keep Young Master Warner waiting, imagine the consequences, won’t I lose my head?"

Shane raised his foot while heading outside the airport and said: "Your head’s just a decoration anyway, losing it wouldn’t matter."

"I came all the way to pick you up myself, must your mouth be so rude? I’ve never heard a single nice word from you." Audrey caught up with his pace and muttered: "Even if it’s just a decoration, it’s a pretty one."

Walking ahead, Shane had a faint smile on his face but said nothing.

Audrey followed him a few steps, noticing him empty-handed without an assistant around, she asked: "Where’s your suitcase? Why are you alone?"

"They went ahead."

Audrey looked at the direction he was heading, not towards the parking lot but the taxi line, and said: "The taxi line is definitely long, and the roads are jammed, I almost got sick riding it, let’s take the subway instead?"

Shane paused his steps, didn’t verbally agree, but he followed the signs above the sidewalk indicating the subway direction.

Audrey jogged to keep up with him, walking side by side, she asked: "Have you ever taken the subway?"

"Nope."

"I knew you hadn’t. Let me teach you." 𝕗𝕣𝐞𝐞𝘄𝐞𝚋𝚗𝗼𝘃𝗲𝗹.𝚌𝕠𝚖

She seemed thrilled to have a chance to flaunt her knowledge in front of him, like a subway staff, seeing the subway map at the entrance, she explained at length, which line leads where, which line they would take later, then said: "We can go one stop back, it’s the starting point, there’ll definitely be seats available."

Shane said nothing, listening to her gentle voice, finding it pleasant to the ear.

As for the content of her chatter, it didn’t really matter.

At the ticket machine, she acted as if teaching an elderly man unfamiliar with electronics, explaining the process from start to finish, even the people behind in line glanced at Shane with odd expressions, probably thinking, how could such a handsome young lad be an idiot.
