Mr. Mu Proposed Again Today-Chapter 115 - Banquet 1_1
Chapter 115: Chapter 115 Banquet 1_1
Chapter 115 -115 Banquet 1_1
Mu Yingchen’s eyes flickered with a sly smile.
“Let’s go, the opening dance is about to begin!”
“Hey, wait.” She grabbed Mu Yingchen’s hand.
Mu Yingchen turned his head to look at her.
“How can I dance like this?” She looked down at the down jacket she was wearing, which seemed rather out of place in the festively dressed venue.
Mu Yingchen nodded thoughtfully and then, with a raise of his handsome eyebrow, pulled her to a corner of the venue.
“Take off your coat,” he said softly, looking at the down jacket on Su Wanxia.
It was not a problem until Mu Yingchen mentioned it, but as soon as he did, she immediately felt a bit hot.
Outside, snowflakes were drifting down in a frozen world.
But inside, it was as warm as spring, completely different worlds.
She took off her coat and handed it to Mu Yingchen.
Mu Yingchen reached out to take it, then gestured to some spot, prompting a staff member to approach respectfully.
“Young Master Mu.”
“Keep this coat safe.”
“Yes.”
After Su Wanxia took off her down jacket, she immediately felt a sense of relief throughout her body.
Mu Yingchen reached out to tidy up her somewhat disordered hair before nodding in satisfaction.
Su Wanxia gave a dry laugh, admitting she had been in too much of a rush when leaving home and hadn’t thought things through.
Looking at the dress she was wearing, she silently nodded in approval, grateful that she had been sensible enough to change. Otherwise, not only would she have lost face, but Mu Yingchen would have lost face as well.
When Mu Yingchen led her onto the dance floor, everyone’s gaze brightened at the sight of the transformed Su Wanxia.
The rose-pink strapless gown showcased her graceful figure, and her long black hair casually draped over her shoulders added to her beauty and elegance.
Although she wore no make-up, her natural beauty shone through.
The smooth and delicate skin looked even more fair and tender against the rose-pink dress.
Her exquisitely beautiful features seemed to possess a beguiling charm that was unforgettable at a glance.
Whether a woman is beautiful or pretty can only be truly appreciated when she is free of any adornment.
And in that moment, the heiresses present at the venue began to feel jealous of her, the woman held by Mu Yingchen’s hand.

The bright lights came on, and people started to enter the dance floor with their partners.
The elegant rhythm softly spread throughout the space.
Couples danced gracefully in the dance floor.
As everyone was immersed in happiness, the lights suddenly turned into soft yellow beams, focusing on a young man and woman in the center of the dance floor.
That was Mu Yingchen and Su Wanxia.
Mu Yingchen, dressed in a black suit with a red rose on his chest, stood tall and elegant, his nobility accentuated to the extreme.
Su Wanxia, in her rose-pink strapless gown, had snow-white skin that made the dress’s perfect curves look all the more enchanting.
All eyes followed their dance steps, graceful yet with a hint of flamboyance.
Mu Yingchen’s god-like face bore an inscrutable smile, leaving the other young ladies with endless daydreams.
With a slight step and a twist, Su Wanxia naturally fell into his arms, and with another raise of his hand, she spun twice in unison before being pulled back into his embrace.
But her left foot was raised high, one hand tightly held by Mu Yingchen’s, their eyes locked in a deep gaze, timeless in a single glance.
When the music stopped, a vigorous applause broke out instantly.
Mu Yingchen’s lips curved slightly, leading Su Wanxia by the hand towards the edge of the dance floor, while the audience stared on, inwardly marvelling continuously.
With the opening dance over, the banquet officially began.
Mu Yingchen, as the protagonist, was unsurprisingly surrounded by a crowd of people. Seeing this, Su Wanxia took the opportunity to discreetly slip away from the thronging masses.
Whew—she might as well go find Xiaolan and the others.
Indeed, Kang Xiaolan and her group had been keeping an eye on them the whole time.
When they saw her emerging from the crowd, they immediately started waving at her vigorously.
Su Wanxia smiled and headed their way.
“Wanxia, you really got us there. We thought you wouldn’t show up!” Kang Xiaolan began to chatter as soon as Su Wanxia took a seat.
“Yeah, I didn’t expect you to make such a dramatic entrance,” Yan Yirou said, barely suppressing her laughter.
“Climbing stairs must have been tough, right?” Jian Manhui chimed in, but inside she felt a mixture of emotions.
Because she might have found out about Wanxia’s decision.
“Yeah, 30 floors, right? How long did it take you?” Gong Yining was quite curious about how long Wanxia had taken to climb up.
Su Wanxia rolled her eyes at them.
“You try climbing all the way from the first floor in one go and see if you can still stand straight.”
“Haha.”
“Hey, Wanxia, no kidding, I’m really not up for stair climbing. I’ve only climbed up to about a dozen floors at most. My legs were so weak afterwards that I could barely stand,” Jian Manhui said, laughing at the memory.
That had been when she went to a company to investigate a case during the rush hour—the line for the elevator was terrifyingly long.
With no choice and not wanting to be late for a prearranged meeting, she gritted her teeth and climbed to the 16th floor.
“I was about to get depressed,” Su Wanxia sighed.
“But why did you arrive so late?” Kang Xiaolan asked curiously.
The others also stared at her with curiosity written all over their faces.
Su Wanxia gave a dry laugh, and while everyone was expecting her to share more, she didn’t.
“Come on, let’s drink.” She raised her glass, clearly intent on not stopping until she was thoroughly drunk.
Kang Xiaolan and the others cast her a disdainful look, then also picked up their glasses.
However, Kang Xiaolan’s glass contained juice.
“Wanxia, how are you feeling? Maybe you shouldn’t drink. Keep Xiaolan company instead,” Yan Yirou said with concern.
She was worried that Su Wanxia might get crazy drunk after just one drink.
After all, she was now Mu Yingchen’s publicly acknowledged girlfriend. It wouldn’t be good if people saw her formidable drunk side.
“She’s pregnant, I don’t want to keep her company. Come on, cheers,” Su Wanxia retorted. Anyway, her alcohol tolerance wasn’t that bad, and having a little to drink shouldn’t be a problem.
“Alright, cheers.”
Su Wanxia’s emotions had fluctuated too much that evening, and she found the more alcohol she drank, the more she wanted to drink.
Because she was Mu Yingchen’s girlfriend, a lot of people came to toast and network with her.
She held her glass, not refusing anyone.
“Wanxia, try to drink less,” Jian Manhui reminded her.
“It’s fine, it’s just red wine; it doesn’t get you drunk so easily,” Su Wanxia didn’t understand why they kept telling her to drink less—weren’t they also drinking quite a bit?
“Are you sure it’s okay?” Gong Yining was also skeptical.
“Hey, is my tolerance really that bad?” Su Wanxia got defensive.
The group saw that she really didn’t seem drunk and breathed a sigh of relief—for now, she was sober.
“Good, as long as you’re not drunk,” Yan Yirou and the others said in unison.
Ji Hua and Mu Chuyang finally found a break from their duties and located them.
“So this is where everyone has been enjoying themselves.”
The two sat down on the free seats, looking like they were about to collapse from exhaustion.
Oh my! Entertaining guests was definitely not an easy task.
