Mr. Grant Treats Me Like a Treasure-Chapter 450 - 449: She Really Left
Ethan Grant returned to the hospital. The door to the ward opened, and he looked around at the empty surroundings. After a pang of pain in his chest, he walked over to the hospital bed.
Serena, she’s gone!
This was within his plan!
Not seeing Serena Sullivan’s figure, his heart felt extremely hollow and inexplicably painful.
Afterwards, under Finn Chandler’s arrangements, he would secretly take care of Serena Sullivan.
After the surgery, no matter the outcome for Serena, he would stay by her side.
That’s what he thought, but when facing life and death alone, deep in his heart there was panic, there was fear.
His Serena was supposed to live a blissful life, and his love was supposed to be a perfect symphony.
This kind of ending, he couldn’t accept, yet he had no choice but to accept.
The only consolation was that he knew Serena’s condition and could still be by her side.
Footsteps came from outside the door. Ethan didn’t pay attention. If it wasn’t a nurse, it was Yvette Sterling and the others.
The door to the ward was pushed open, and a pale face came into view.
"Where is Serena?"
The first thing Claire Sullivan did upon waking was to come see Serena.
She pushed the door open and saw Ethan Grant sitting on the hospital bed, with no trace of Serena.
"She..."
Ethan looked at Claire Sullivan at the door, not knowing how to respond!
The words were on the tip of his tongue, but he just couldn’t say them.
"Where did Serena go?"
Claire asked again.
After she woke up, Aunt Chen told her that Serena had fainted and been admitted to the hospital after her. The more Claire thought about it, the more it didn’t make sense.
Serena’s neck injury shouldn’t have caused her to faint.
Being scared by Joel Quinn, Serena wasn’t that fragile.
For such a well-conditioned person to suddenly faint, Claire felt panicked inside. Seeing no sign of Serena in the ward only heightened her fear!
"She’s gone."
Ethan looked up at Claire Sullivan.
Four years ago, Claire opposed him and Serena being together and then forced Serena to leave Solaria because of the Joyce father and daughter. All these things linked together made Ethan unable to show a good attitude to his mother-in-law.
This time, he forced himself to speak patiently, considering that Claire had saved Serena.
But this saving ultimately couldn’t save a person to the end.
"Where did Serena go?"
Claire asked again.
Ethan didn’t respond. He turned his head, wanting to smoke, but remembered that Serena didn’t like it and put the cigarette away.
"You don’t need to worry. She will be fine."
The mild remark left Claire even more puzzled, as she anxiously raised her voice, "What’s fine?"
"What happened to her?"
If Serena was truly fine, Ethan wouldn’t have said "will be fine" in such a strange way.
Claire recalled Serena’s emaciated face, thought of those dim eyes, and her heart ached.
Ethan gazed at the tear-streaked Claire, thinking that Serena’s current situation was inseparable from both him and Claire. One was her closest person, the other the one who loved her the most.
He coldly curled his lips into a smile, just about to respond when the phone in his pocket rang. Taking it out, he saw it was a call from Finn Chandler, and he connected the call immediately.
At this moment, Finn Chandler and Serena must be together on their way out of Solaria.
If Finn was calling, was it because Serena had fainted again? Or had something else occurred!
"Hello!"
When he uttered a word, Ethan’s heart jolted, causing his hand holding the phone to tremble slightly.
"Have you left Solaria yet?"
To ease his tension, he added another sentence.
