Mr. Grant Treats Me Like a Treasure-Chapter 449 - 448: I Don’t Want to Get Involved in Your Affairs (Said by Mr. Sterling)
No need to overthink what Finn Chandler and Ethan Grant talked about.
It must be Ethan asking about her situation, and Finn telling him.
They decided to work together, one would send her away as planned, and the other would follow.
Serena Sullivan understood it was for her own good, but once she made up her mind, no one could change it.
After clearing her thoughts, Serena found the number in her memory and dialed it.
A man’s indifferent voice answered the call.
"It’s me, Serena Sullivan!"
Upon hearing her name, the man’s voice remained flat.
Serena felt a sliver of pain in her heart, realizing that although this man knew she was his daughter, he could still stay so cold.
Was it truly that he did not care for her? Or did he hide these feelings?
"Mr. Sterling!"
Serena called out with a smile. Her memory used to be great, but now it wasn’t. Without deliberately remembering a person’s number, she couldn’t recall it.
After saving Mr. Sterling’s number, she somehow memorized it unconsciously.
Perhaps she knew deep down that Mr. Sterling was her biological father.
"I saw you at the hospital earlier."
The man standing outside Claire Sullivan’s hospital room wasn’t recognized by Finn Chandler; Serena knew it was Mr. Sterling.
"You have the wrong person."
Mr. Sterling denied on the other side, his voice turning cold, "Miss Sullivan, is there anything else? If not, I’ll hang up first."
"Today, I went to The Sullivan Residence."
Ignoring whether Mr. Sterling would really hang up, Serena continued to speak.
"I encountered Joel Quinn, and he cut my neck twice with a knife."
"Oh."
Mr. Sterling’s voice still did not fluctuate, making Serena’s smile deepen.
"Mr. Sterling, if he had cut any deeper, I might have lost my life on the spot."
"You’re fine now."
Mr. Sterling’s response sounded heartless. Serena clenched her fist but didn’t give up, she continued to speak.
"Claire Sullivan hugged Joel Quinn’s leg to save me, but Joel Quinn frantically stabbed a knife into her back."
"Do you know if she’s okay?"
Mr. Sterling didn’t let Serena pull words from him; he coldly replied, "If something happened to her, Miss Sullivan should ask the doctor."
"Is that so?"
Serena chuckled lightly, "Mr. Sterling, at The Sullivan Residence, she also mentioned you."
"She said you and she are old acquaintances."
"She said you once dated."
"And also said, I am..."
Serena tightened her grip on the phone, speaking sentence by sentence, which made Mr. Sterling impatient. He replied in a stern voice, "Miss Sullivan."
"I don’t know what Claire Sullivan told you, but I have no relation to you!"
"If you called to say these meaningless things, then sorry, I have no time!"
Mr. Sterling spoke sharply and coldly, making Serena’s tears fall from her eyes.
"Do you really hate me so much?"
Serena couldn’t help but ask, and with that said, Mr. Sterling decisively ended the call, followed by the busy tone sounding.
Serena looked at the disconnected call, truly feeling rejected.
Refusing to give up just like that, Serena continued dialing Mr. Sterling’s number.
Mr. Sterling hung up, and Serena dialed again.
After five or six calls, Mr. Sterling answered.
"Serena Sullivan, what do you want!"
Mr. Sterling asked in a controlled voice, hiding his anger.
"Mr. Sterling, I’m not here to seek kinship."
Serena said, "I have something I wish to ask for your help with."
"I’m unavailable!"
The cold voice lacked any warmth, Serena paused, and Mr. Sterling continued coldly, "Serena Sullivan, I don’t want to deal with your matters! What Claire Sullivan said is her business, unrelated to me, you..."
"I don’t have many days left to live."
While he was speaking angrily, Serena interjected lightly.
