Mr. Grant Treats Me Like a Treasure-Chapter 433 - 432: Hating Myself This Way
Serena Sullivan raised her head and saw the agreement in his hand.
"What is this?"
"Do you remember entering The Grant Corporation and the contract I asked you to sign?"
"This isn’t a work contract, it’s a marriage agreement."
Ethan Grant spoke, walked up to her, and loudly read out the contents, "Name, Ethan Grant..."
"Voluntarily wed Serena Sullivan, all of Ethan Grant’s assets belong to Serena Sullivan!"
Upon her return, Ethan feared she might leave, so he tricked her into signing under the guise of a contract.
Serena listened to him finish reading and smiled.
"Serena, you can’t escape."
"Listen, I’m not marrying you out of guilt or to make amends."
Ethan looked at Serena intently, his voice rising again, "I love Serena Sullivan. I want to be with her for a lifetime."
He didn’t want to waste any more time for both of them, and after saying that, he leaned down to kiss Serena’s lips.
Serena felt the warmth he brought her, tears rolled out from her eyes, wetting her face.
Ethan tasted the tears, looked up to see Serena crying, and felt an unstoppable pain in his heart.
When had he last seen her cry!
He had made her cry.
"Serena, I’m sorry!"
For what he owed her, he would use the rest of his days to repay.
"Ethan, look at the last part of the agreement." Serena said to Ethan with tears in her eyes, biting her lip.
Ethan was stunned, sat up and turned to the last page of the agreement.
"Is it the character for Serena?"
Serena asked again.
Apart from the wedding, Ethan had been somewhat indifferent to her.
At this point, Willow Yarrow’s name puzzled her, alongside the spacious flat, and then the failure to build high-rises for The Grant Corporation.
All of this, Serena couldn’t possibly be unaware.
She discerned Ethan’s feelings for her from these.
So, when he presented a contract for her to sign, giving no time to review, she intentionally signed the surname character with an extra stroke.
The handwriting was fluid; without close inspection, Ethan wouldn’t notice. 𝗳𝗿𝐞𝕖𝘄𝗲𝕓𝗻𝚘𝚟𝕖𝐥.𝚌𝕠𝕞
"Serena!"
Ethan’s face turned pale, unable to accept this outcome.
He had been schemed by Serena.
"So, beyond that wedding, there was nothing else between us."
Ethan clenched the agreement tightly, then stubbornly declared, "I don’t care!"
He was determined to register the marriage with Serena.
"Ethan, my leg will never respond."
Serena knew Ethan too well; Finn Chandler had asked her why she fell for a man like Ethan.
Four years ago, Ethan wasn’t the Mr. Grant of today.
In terms of intelligence, he couldn’t match Serena.
Leaving the family background aside, Ethan wasn’t worthy of Serena.
In front of Serena, Ethan was sometimes foolish, very obedient to her, stubborn, and occasionally headstrong.
This kind of man, regardless of four years ago or four years later, was utterly captivated by Serena.
Yet, Serena fell in love with him.
Her answer to Finn was that she liked Ethan’s silliness and his efforts to protect her.
"I really dislike myself being this way."
"They all say I’m not qualified to marry you, and I think so too."
Serena’s words were unpleasant for Ethan to hear.
"That’s their opinion; I don’t care."
"How about this, if my leg heals, we’ll register the marriage."
Serena originally wanted to say there was no way to register marriage with him, but to avoid entanglement, she deliberately said this.
"What if it doesn’t heal..."
