Mr. CEO's Substitute Bride-Chapter 875 - 871: What, Can’t Bear to Part?
Back at Mia Foster’s place, Felix Shaw put the food in the fridge, organizing it while reminding Mia not to slack off anymore, or he’d take her back to the country immediately. Mia sat at the dining table, resting her chin in her hand, listening to Felix’s nagging. Suddenly, a feeling of romance washed over her.
She had a strong-willed personality, secretly hoping for a strong-willed man to manage her and strictly forbid her from doing this or that. Though it seemed bossy, it was really for her own good...
After organizing the ingredients, Felix went to his room to get a suitcase, took out some paper and a pen, sat at the bed, and started writing. Before long, he came out and stuck a sticky note on the fridge, sternly saying, "Mia, this is the menu. From now on, cook according to the recipes on it; no shortcuts." 𝙛𝓻𝒆𝒆𝒘𝙚𝓫𝙣𝙤𝒗𝙚𝓵.𝙘𝙤𝙢
"You’re even more nagging than my mom." Mia looked annoyed as she got up and walked towards her bedroom. "It’s late, let’s rest." At the door, she covered her mouth with one hand as she yawned, raised her other hand to wave, and closed the door behind her as she went in.
After sticking the note, Felix also strode over, aiming for an early flight back, at four in the morning. By then, she should still be asleep.
Raising his hand, his long fingers knocked on the door, "Mia, I’m coming in." Without waiting for permission, he opened the door himself.
Mia had just gotten on the bed and frowned helplessly seeing Felix come in. "It’s already late, and I have to work tomorrow."
Felix walked over to the bed, sat on the edge, "Mia, I’m leaving tomorrow."
"So soon?"
Those three words slipped out without a thought. After she spoke, Mia regretted it, feeling like her reaction showed she couldn’t bear him leaving.
"What? Can’t bear it?" Felix chuckled, his eyes full of warmth, as he raised his hand to gently smooth Mia’s short hair.
"Of course not!"
Mia turned her mouth with disdain and pulled away Felix’s big hand. Felix, however, lifted his hand again, letting his long fingers lightly touch Mia’s short hair near her ear, frowning slightly, "You look better with long hair. I don’t like the way you look with short hair; you look fierce."
"Mind your own business." Mia brushed Felix’s hand away again, but he once more came over and lifted her chin. His eyes fell on Mia’s lips, and he leaned in, softly pecking her lips with his thin ones, very gently, "I want to sleep with you..."
"No way! Go rest, you have an early flight to catch tomorrow." Mia rejected him without hesitation, pushing Felix off the bed. Felix had promised not to force her, so he just leaned in and gave her a tight hug before releasing, "Goodnight."
Watching the man leave the room, Mia lifted the corners of her mouth into a smile.
It seemed that after Felix came over this time, their dynamic had become quite subtle, somewhat like a romantic relationship. What comforted her the most was that he kept his promise and didn’t force her into anything.
...
In the morning, when her body clock woke her up on time, Mia stretched her arms and got out of bed. After a quick wash, she saw that Felix’s guest room door was open, so she walked in, finding the bed empty—Felix had long gone. Thinking that he left without saying goodbye, a sudden sense of loss welled up in Mia’s heart.
Unknowingly, their relationship was quietly getting better, but when one day Felix made entertainment headlines again, Mia decided firmly that she would never give him another chance in this lifetime!
