Mr. CEO's Substitute Bride-Chapter 874 - 870:
Thinking about the foreigner’s improper intentions towards his woman made Felix uncomfortable. He supported Mia Foster’s arm and was about to leave Steven British behind, but Steven took a step to the side to block their way, once again gathering flowers in front of the elderly ladies and insisted.
"Mia, this bouquet of lilies is for you. You are just like these lilies — dignified, elegant, and beautiful."
Not wanting to entangle with Steven too much, especially in front of Felix, Mia accepted the lilies and politely said, "Thank you," before nodding and saying goodbye to Steven. Steven also nodded gentlemanly, and as he watched Mia’s back, he suddenly shouted, "Mia, let’s have dinner together next time!"
"Hmph, you really have a lot of admirers!" Felix glared unhappily, while Mia smiled slyly, "You dreamed about it, didn’t you? How about... we go to dinner with him?"
"Dream on!" Felix quickly pulled Mia’s arm and headed towards the parking lot.
Behind them, Steven still stood in place, watching Mia’s departing figure, his lips constantly curled upwards.
...
Felix had planned to take Mia out for dinner, but he preferred when Mia cooked for him like a dutiful wife.
The New Year holiday is short, only three days, although he’s the company’s CEO, this time of year is the busiest for the company, he can’t ignore the big picture for personal matters.
He already booked a flight for early tomorrow morning, so he dismissed the idea of dining at a restaurant, wanting to enjoy more time alone with Mia.
Back at home, Mia changed into home attire and walked into the kitchen, cutting bell pepper strips and potatoes, pairing them with beef and stir-frying them in a pan. She also heated up bread in the microwave, and when everything was done, she called Felix for dinner.
Sitting at the dining table, looking at the simple dinner, Felix’s handsome brows didn’t relax, "Do you fill your stomach with this?"
Mia cut the bread on her plate into pieces, forked a small piece, then forked the bell pepper and beef, "Yeah, this is how it’s eaten here."
Felix...
"Why don’t you cook some rice?" It would go better with this dish. Mia forked the bread again, "Too lazy to cook, and I can’t eat much alone."
"Mia! If you keep this up, I’ll take you back with me right away!" Felix suddenly lost his temper inexplicably, Mia looked up with an expression of puzzlement, "What’s wrong?"
Felix tossed the knife and fork in his hand onto the table and said before standing up, "Even pigs wouldn’t eat this food!"
With that, he stood up, walked to the fridge, and started rummaging.
Mia continued to eat while watching Felix. He took out two eggs and cracked them into a bowl, then started stirring with a fork, with movements not very skilled but still quick, then lit the pan, soaked the bread slices in the egg mixture, and placed them in the pan.
A few minutes later, Felix put the golden-brown bread slices in front of Mia, "Just make do for now. After eating, we’ll go to the supermarket."
Mia cut a piece of bread and tasted it, slowly chewing. The bread soaked in egg mixture was much softer than before. It wasn’t that she disliked the trouble. This place mainly revolves around bread, and since she had lived here for a long time, she gradually got used to the local dietary habits. The dishes are simple yet nutritious, unlike back home, where a big table of stir-fries and deep-fried dishes is both troublesome and wasteful.
After dinner, under Felix’s insistence, they went to the supermarket together. It was like celebrating New Year’s; Felix wished he could take the entire supermarket home.
When they returned to the parking lot with the purchased groceries, several bags of food almost filled the trunk.
