Chapter 857: Chapter 853: Did You Miss Me?

"Mia, now it’s my turn to introduce myself." Steven stood up in a very gentlemanly manner, holding a glass of champagne, but he still politely bowed slightly to Mia Foster, "My name is Steven, Steven Gibson,"

"Hello, Mr. Steven." Mia Foster held her plate, and greeted courteously. Steven sat back down again, "Mia, we’re friends, so you don’t need to add ’Mr.’ after my name."

Mia Foster curved her lips into a smile, didn’t argue, and continued eating, with an attitude of ’we won’t meet again anyway, so whatever you say goes’.

The party continued, and Steven stayed by Mia Foster’s side, occasionally chatting with her, until they got up together when the party ended.

In the parking lot, Steven took Mia Foster’s hand and kissed the back of it lightly, a farewell gesture in Western culture, "Mia, it was nice to meet you, thank you for giving me such a wonderful carnival."

Mia Foster nodded slightly, smiled gently, opened the car door, and sat inside. Steven stood there, even as Mia Foster’s car disappeared from view, mumbling to himself, "What a charming woman,"

In the past, Mia Foster used to look forward to breaks, taking a day off from her busy work to stroll around the streets or meet up with friends at a bar. But now, she no longer liked taking breaks, because once her tense nerves relaxed, she would start thinking about all the bothersome things.

On January 1st, a new year began. Mia Foster returned home from work, just finished showering, and was about to make some food to fill herself when the doorbell rang downstairs.

She glanced at the monitor in the living room, seeing a casually dressed man standing in front of the small building’s door, holding a suitcase in his hand.

Mia Foster originally didn’t want to bother, but then thought about it and realized that if she didn’t open the door, the man might climb in from the back, so she opened the door. Through the monitor, she saw Felix Shaw walking in with his suitcase, placing it downstairs and coming up the stairs.

Standing in the living room, Felix Shaw spread his arms and looked at Mia Foster without speaking.

She glanced at him and walked past him into the kitchen. 𝗳𝐫𝚎𝗲𝚠𝚎𝗯𝕟𝐨𝘃𝚎𝗹.𝗰𝗼𝗺

"Dead woman!" As she walked past Felix Shaw, he blocked her and pulled Mia Foster tightly into his arms, cursing under his breath with gritted teeth, then buried his handsome face into Mia Foster’s shoulder, as if sniffing her scent, sighed with closed eyes, and spoke with a voice full of helplessness and satisfaction.

"Did you miss me?"

"No." Mia Foster replied without even thinking, remaining indifferent while being held by Felix Shaw.

"Heartless!" He bit her on the neck, not hard, just as a symbolic punishment. Mia Foster frowned unhappily and was about to push him away when Felix Shaw gently patted her back then let go.

"Run me a bath. I’m so tired." After finishing work, he took a flight over, ate a little on the plane, and rushed here immediately after the flight, all just to spend New Year’s Day with her.

"Felix Shaw! Don’t push your luck! This is my home, not a hotel!" Ever since coming abroad, Mia Foster’s temper had grown, easily flaring up and no longer accommodating Felix Shaw like before.

"Okay, Mia, run me a bath. I came straight from the company, and I haven’t showered in two days." Felix Shaw hugged Mia Foster again, very naturally, his handsome face resting on her shoulder like a child dependent on an adult.
