SSS Technology System: My Talent's Name Is NanoForge-Chapter 36: Don’t Judge A Book By It’s Cover
"What a weird day." Mason muttered under his breath as he walked down through the streets, school was over for the day, and he was a bit tired.
He tried things the normal way for once, although ge swore to bring these corporations down to their knees, he was a bit tired.
"Hava, how long before NanoForge is operational?" He said softly, masking his voice while in public.
[In about 78 hours master.]
"78 hours huh?" To be honest he didn’t mind s little peace and quiet, after all with NanoForge still recharging, going back out there meant his demise.
Especially since most of his arsenal were out of commission for now. He even froze his twitch, at least for now, he wanted to be off social media till NanoForge was completely operational.
And his new page swarmed with comments, he didn’t know what they were about, but anyone could take a wild guess that it was about what happened the previous night.

Nova City Police Department
"You damn fool!" Chief Marcus Kane shouted, throwing a file across his office, and surprisingly, it landed cleanly into the dustbin.
"Please calm down chief." Lieutenant Dean appealed, especially since the file in question was all the evidence, the information collected, all related to the Shadow Vigilante.
"Calm down? You immobilized almost all our forces, went down to the other end of the city, where a core member of the Syndicate lives, are you trying to start a war!?" The chief couldn’t contain his rage, it was just too much.
"Excuse me? The Shadow Vigilante engaged in a battle that destroyed a whole neighborhood! We’re lucky no lives were lost or it would all be placed on our heads! You know these people won’t blame the heroes. They don’t do anything about it, and somehow you’re okay with it."
Chief Marcus Kane sighed, returning to his seat.
"It’s our top priority to capture the Vigilante, but my concerns aren’t about him at the moment, it’s about the Syndicate. Jackson’s records were sealed long ago on orders of the judge, a bunch of cops swarming his apartment? What does that tell you? Night Hunter may have fought off a mutant, but where is Jackson?"
Lieutenant Dean remained silent, he couldn’t speak, couldn’t say anything, he had no idea where Jackson was.
"I don’t know." He answered.
"Precisely, although the results of our search led to nothing. Since it was Jackson’s apartment, we can only assume that he was erased by whatever created that hole in the ground. We’re lucky the syndicate hasn’t said anything yet." Chief Marcus Kane placed his palm over his face.
"Lieutenant Dean, I understand your passion in catching this Vigilante. But now, you’re off the Shadow Vigilante’s case, effective immediately."
"What!?" Lieutenant Dean couldn’t believe his ears. "Chief! Are you seriously kicking me off the case!? Because of the syndicate!? Why is trouble with the Syndicate the issue!? People almost died!"
"You’re lucky I didn’t seize your badge, but if you involve yourself in this case again, I’ll have no choice to remove you from the force. You’re one of our best man Dean, don’t throw your career away." Chief Marcus stood to his feet, then approached the windows and glanced out of it.
"You’re dismissed."
With a grunt, Lieutenant Dean stormed out of his office, and returned back to his. He slammed the doors shut, and then slammed his hands on his table.
"Night Hunter..." Everything he did, every move he made, they were all in hopes of capturing the Shadow Vigilante. And now somehow, it all came back at him in the worst way possible.
"No matter what it takes... No matter the costs... I’ll be the one to bring you down, you damned bastard!"

Mason walked into a convenient store, one of those that sold his favorite ice cream and snacks. As usual, he purchased them — vanilla ice cream with sprinkles, a pack of chocolate, and finally, some mints for good breath.
"Vanilla Ice cream? I see you like those as well. But I prefer chocolate, that’s one of the things I love most about this city." A voice spoke besides him, and he turned his attention to it.
"Hm?" He locked eyes with that of a girl with pitch black hair, with a sparkling pair of black eyes. "Who are you?"
Her eyes twitched, and a vein was almost visible on her forehead. "Excuse me? I’m Sophia, the girl that requested your help on trigonometry."
"Requested my help?" It came to him immediately. "Oh, sorry. I’ve been having a rough day lately so it slipped my mind." With all his worries, he never expected that she’d show up again.
"I can only imagine, I’ve heard about you. Mason Harris, the guy who loathes heroes as well as villains after his parents were taken away from him by their actions." She began, licking the chocolate off her cone slowly.
"And is there a reason you’re bringing up my past?" He asked, walking away from the counter.
"Not particularly, but I do support your reasoning. I’ve only been here a few days and I’ve seen just what their ignorance can cause." She followed behind him, and together they left the store.
"Is that right? Well whatever, my opinion doesn’t matter anyways. It’s not like there’s anyone to do something about it."
"What about Night Hunter? I mean in his latest appearance he mentioned something about taking them down. He said something about taking out the toys of the agencies, thinking objectively he was referring to the heroes." She said, licking her cone, and focusing her eyes with intent.
"Who knows?"
"Hm, anyways, it seems like you aren’t busy at the moment, maybe you can teach me back in my place?"
He thought about it for a while, and while he wasn’t interested in helping her at all, he did promise to help. And it’s not like he had anything to do.
"Fine then."
"Great!" She led him to his place, and after minutes of walking, they arrived at an alleyway.
"My house is just down this alley, we could follow the main road, but that’ll be a much longer journey." She said.
"It’s fine, we can go through here." He followed her through the alley, and the towering buildings blocked away the light. 𝙛𝒓𝓮𝒆𝔀𝒆𝙗𝓷𝒐𝙫𝒆𝙡.𝒄𝓸𝓶
"I’ve been curious about you Mason Harris, you don’t seem like the type of guy who gives two shits about his education, but yet you are breaking records." She chuckled.
"Well I’m just that kind of guy, you know? The ones they say don’t judge a book by it’s cover." He rested his arms over his shoulders, and to be honest, it was kind of satisfying spending his ways like a normal person.
Sophia stopped, and her hair immediately casted a shadow over her eyes. "Yeah... I don’t, that’s how I also know you weren’t the one who solved those equations. It was H.A.V.A, wasn’t it?"
