A mocking smile creeps onto his lips, as he closes his hand over the ring with a snort, Felix Shaw grabbed his phone and called Mia Foster.

In a small conference room, Mia Foster is leading a meeting with her department’s staff.

Just transferred back to the head office, there are some details she’s not quite familiar with yet. In the projector light, an employee is explaining their proposal while Mia Foster listens intently, her hands folded on the speaker’s table.

Her phone’s touchscreen lights up in front of her; a call is coming through.

Glancing at the caller ID, it’s Felix Shaw’s number. Mia Foster knows that anyone in her shoes would call to ask for a reason after a unilateral decision to break off an engagement.

With an indifferent glance, Mia Foster simply slides to reject the call, but the touchscreen lights up again after a short while.

Mia Foster hadn’t expected Felix to be so persistent. Anyway, since her phone is on silent, and since he is insistent, she simply turns her phone face down on the conference table.

The employee presenting the proposal spots Mia Foster’s move, pauses, and looks at her, seemingly waiting for her to finish the call before continuing.

Mia Foster offers an apologetic smile, "Continue." The employee in front of her resumes their explanation.

Originally, Mia Foster had planned to call Felix back after the meeting, since calling off the engagement was a matter concerning both of them. Although she had unilaterally decided, she still owed him an explanation.

But after the meeting ended, surrounded by subordinates discussing all the way back to the office, just as she sat down in her chair, a pile of documents was laid in front of her – the workaholic woman had already forgotten all about Felix Shaw.

In the Hutton Industries office building, seeing Mia Foster continuously refuse to answer his phone calls, Felix Shaw couldn’t help but sneer. Women! Playing hard to get, she seemed quite adept at the game!

Pocketing his phone, his lips quirked into a smirk, Felix Shaw left instructions for his secretary and strode out.

After reviewing the last document, she leans back in her chair, stretched her arms, and turned her neck from side to side, noticing an empty feeling in her stomach.

Looking at her watch, she realizes it’s already lunchtime, no wonder she felt hungry.

Rubbing her neck while rising, she slips on her jacket, as Mia Foster plans to go feed herself at the fast-food restaurant across from the company.

Just as she opens the door to her office, her phone on the desk rings again. Turning back and seeing the name on the screen, Mia Foster remembers she forgot to call Felix Shaw.

Without much thought, Mia Foster answers the phone directly, and before she could speak, Felix Shaw’s voice comes through.

"Come down; I’m waiting for you outside your company."

After a moment’s hesitation, Mia Foster says, "Okay," then turns and walks out of the office.

Such matters are better discussed face-to-face.

Stepping out of the elevator, she sees the company’s employees standing in the lobby, whispering and pointing outside. They disperse with laughter when they see her approaching.
